Haymark Farm is a 285-acre farm in Ewing, KY, where alfalfa hay is produced. The farm has picturesque ridges and hills at one of the highest elevations in the area, allowing spectacular sunrise and sunset views. This land has previously been a tobacco farm, a hay farm, and is now home to a few beef cattle. This is a camping cabin, in the middle of the Daniel Boone National Forest. If you are into primitive camping and living, then this is the right place for you! Many types of wildlife and critters may be encountered during your camping adventure. Deer, turkey, squirrel, snakes of different types, and lots of wood bugs inhabit the woods. We are about 85 acres, surrounded by hundreds of acres of national Forest, located about 2 minutes from the Sheltowee Trail, and approximately 30 minutes away from Cave Run Lake, and 30 minutes from Carter Caves State Park.
The cabin is off grid, but has a generator for heat and Air conditioning. The outside toilet is close to the cabin and has a "Wash up" area. There is also an outdoor shower on the property just a short walk away, down behind the host's garage, that features hot water.
A great place to relax and detach from the stress of society for a few days, or hike, hunt, or head over to Cave Run Lake for some fishing.

Marshall Road runs through the bottom third of our property making a secluded area along Decoursey Creek that feels like a you're way out in the woods, yet not far from the city.
Our canvas tent is situated under large mature trees, secluded from the road. An open field located on the property along Decoursey Creek, which brings in a variety of flora and fauna.
This 12 foot canvas bell tent is sure to take relaxation to the next level. Within this tent, a queen size memory foam mattress, lightweight sheets, extra blankets and paired with two firm and two soft pillows are provided. The door way is a double zip closure.
For cooking, a gas burner and a small gas grill, a cast iron skillet along with acacia wood plates and bowls, utensils, and knives are available for use. For fresh coffee in the morning, an enamel Percolator and mugs are provided. An extra large cooler (100 gal) for your cold items is available outside of the tent.
Please bring your own camping equipment if needing any items outside of what's listed.
For your bathroom needs, we are currently building a bath house. It does have a fully functional toilet and sink using water catchment. The shower is not complete, will be in the coming weeks. Please bring water for drinking and brushing teeth. Toilet paper, hand soap and sanitizer will be provided.
In addition to firelight from the campfire, the tent is lit by battery-powered a LED lantern, battery operated candles, decor and a pair of solar lamps.
No electric is available at this site currently.
One battery operated fan is provided.
First load of wood is included with your reservation. $7 per bundle if you need more. We use the honor system for this, please send any extra money through HipCamp if more wood is used. We provide fire starting materials and a lighter, fire extinguisher is located in the trunk within the tent.
Parking area is close to the tent, yet not right next to it. A large rolling cart is provided to help with getting belongings to and from the parking area. Please only park and drive on graveled area.
Creekside Hideaway is nestled on Decoursey Creek, you will have access to the bottom area of the property along the creek. Rock steps have been put in along the creek for easy access down to the creek. This property is partially wooded, and has an open field as well.
We are always pet friendly, but you must maintain control of your pets and you are responsible for them at all times.
Decoursey creek is a natural waterway. It is frequented by wildlife and can be contaminated by runoff from local farms. DO NOT drink the water. Make sure to wash your hands after they have been in the water before eating and drinking.
Pink tape on trees are to mark the approximate property lines, please remain within the property. The creek is part of the property but please do not go to the far bank, as the creek marks our property line.

We recently moved from the next county over and are enjoying making this place ours and improvements for guests. Property is 15 minutes south of Cincinnati, close to the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport (CVG), close to restaurants and attractions such as Kings Island (approximately 1 hour), Creation Museum (approximately 25 minutes) and The Ark (approximately 25 minutes). Also nearby are several state parks and local favorites such as Big Bone State park, Rabbit Hash,and Riverbend.
We have 2 dogs who walk with us on leash and recently added chickens and goats! Elmer and Clyde do like to wander and explore. They are very friendly.

Gravel driveway leads up to both spots. We do try to keep it maintained, but frequently rain causes ruts faster than we can fill. It should not impede drivability, but use caution and feel free to ask if you have any concerns. #1 improvement planned is paving driveway. You may also experience some vehicle noise from roadway. Typically, as we are on a back road, it is fairly quiet but some drivers may be louder than others and some evenings see more traffic.

Deer, wild turkeys, opossums and raccoons are plentiful and often wander through. Less common are foxes and bald eagles that make their home at Doe Run Lake nearby.

Another extraordinary experience at Bear Pond. I appreciate the dark skies for stargazing and the open stage where wildlife appears.
This season, Red-shouldered Hawks carried the daytime, and Barred Owls took their turns whenever the mood suited them.
I’m grateful that Host John has opened Bear Pond to Hipcampers. Having this place as a base camp shortens the distance to the trails I return to. From here, I’m never far from trails to explore. And when I’m back at camp, I’m still immersed in it, surrounded by woods, hills, and holler.
It brings an ease to the rhythm of the stay—a short drive back to camp, and West Union is close enough if something’s needed or forgotten.
On the hill, there’s now 5G (Verizon), which brings reassurance when keeping track of the weather.
Host John is a thoughtful caretaker of the land. It feels like a second home whenever I visit.

Great spot! The barn is high in a hill with beautiful views. Electric worked great for two campers and everything was as described. We came in mid April, which was a bit chilly with the wind on the top of the hill. I would lean toward a warmer month next time! Host was great, but we felt like we had ample privacy. Would recommend!

Private and peaceful campground. I live less than an hour away and didn't know this area exited. Her farm animals (horse and donkeys) greeted us upon arrival. There was a trailer house next from the camp site but there was some distance and it did not bother us at all. RV site is not next to the river, but Polly was kind to let us use the tent site next to the river while we were there. This area is so convenient and lot of things to do.

So fun! We stayed the weekend here and didn’t leave after arriving. There’s a ton to do, hiking, an awesome creek, games, bon fire, TV, and a cute “panty” in the barn with glamping goods. The cabin also had a well equip kitchen with a mini fridge. Not to mention the sweet bucket shower with HOT water! Such a game changer. The hosts were so nice and helpful too!

Wow! A total gem, I was blown away, the private lake, rolling green hills, immense amount of acreage, walking trails everywhere. Host is really chill and helpful with any questions. I had an awesome private spot right on the lake, my own little place of peace. I highly recommend this Hipcamp, it’s the best one I’ve been to. I’ll definitely go back.
