I've stayed at other hip camps and simply decided that I would love to share my little slice of heaven with others passing through my area. The drive is about 250ft long, you would need to back in in order to hook up to the 50 amp plug. RV's can use the 50 amp plug (30 amp will need an adapter. I have one you can use if you don't own one of your own) and hose for water. I have an outdoor shower and a camping toilet. I am ... - one hour from Lexington, Louisville, Elizabethtown, and Frankfort.- 1 mile from a mini mart with Gas, Ice, Pizza, Chicken Wings, Sandwiches, ect.- 6 miles from Dollar General and A pizza Restaurant - 15 ish miles from Wal-mart and other chain stores and restaurants I'm a great travel guide so feel free to tell me what your in town for or things you like to do. I will happily make you up a list of things to do and see and places to eat. Keenland, Churchill Downs, The Bourbon Tour (Jim Beam, Makers Mark, Heaven Hill, and many others) are within an hour of here. Also within an hour are 2 great bike paths, wonderful hiking and kayaking. As well as Great Shopping and Restaurants. Anything your heart desires. Using GPS Directions i would suggest avoiding Tunnel Mill Rd and Murphy Lane if towing a camper or driving an RV.

The farm has a small playground, yard games, creeks, and a steep and rugged hiking trail that loops the mountain. We're also just 8 miles from the hiking trails at the Berea College Pinnacles, 8 miles to Owsley Fork Reservoir, 20 minutes to Anglin Falls, 12 miles to Berea, 35 minutes to Richmond, Ky, and a scenic hour to Red River Gorge. A working horse farm with some wooded areas and lots of spots to pitch a tent or hammock. We have a friendly dog, 2 mini highland cows and currently 3 horses! We are on 20 acres. We are constantly improving our land and are expanding our horse boarding as we do so. Close to Abraham Lincoln’s birthplace , Mcdougal Lake and the main square in Hodgenville which has cute little restaurants and places to walk During summer there are lots of wild blackberries to pick on the perimeter of the pasture (this is usually June-July only). We are bordered on woods so camping can be done in the trees as well or in our nice open area right as soon as you come up the drive. Outside our barn/house we have water and electric outlets as needed. In the open area or the woods there are several trees that can be used for a hammock as well. We do have a large fire pit near our house and a ton of wood fires can be started as long as we are not under a burn ban if we are having a dry summer or fall. In our camping field we have a smaller black fire pit for use . The pastures are set back from the woods so feel free to walk the perimeter of them. We do have 2 farm dogs that are super friendly and gentle. If you have an RV it’s easier to enter into the 1575 entrance and pull through

What a great place! Doesn’t show its glory until you go around the barn to park/hook up, then wow! Rolling hills. Horses. Pounds with ducks. Beautiful. Best sunrise in a long time. AND: Driving up -go slow and take the third gate just like she says. Do NOT go too far -it is a long, winding, hilly, narrow road to get back (took an hour in the dark, dark, dark night). So glad we found this place!

Weekend Trip to Savvy Retreat

Beautiful property! My husband and I brought our two dogs for a peaceful weekend in our travel trailer. The location had everything we needed and more. We enjoyed several hiking trails in the area, grilled delicious meals under the large shelter, and relaxed by the fire with a perfect view of the stars. 3 nights at Savvy Retreat

I just got back from a 3 night stay at Savys Retreat and I’m already planning my next trip. It’s in a beautiful part of Kentucky, especially in the fall. The property sits down a dead end road, single lane but well maintained, and it’s one of the last places out there so it’s quiet, private, and peaceful. Everything about the site is well thought out and taken care of. You can tell the owners take pride in it. The setup felt more like an RV resort than a campsite, plenty of space, clean, and everything you could need. I spent my evenings sitting by the fire watching the sunset, then stayed out until the stars came out. Hard to beat that. The space was as described, complete with howling coyotes, raccoons the size of small toddlers and severed heads (not real!) on sticks at one site that was adjacent to us that starkly contrasted with the theme of Happy Days…. but we did leave in a bit of a daze after a cold night spent sleeping here under the stars! Bonus points for the beautiful yellow fungi growing out of the picnic table and traffic/train sounds throughout the night 🥴

Weekend Trip to Rockcastle Riverside

We didn't get to visit the store or go down to the river because we had some much to do in Richmond. We absolutely loved the peace and quiet at the campground. It was the perfect spot, clean, ever just as advertised!!!! Nice hot shower and clean bathroom!!! We definitely want to go back!!!!!!

5 nights at Savvy Retreat

My 5 nights here were awesome! It's out in the woods on a curvy mountain road on the side of a hill with a level packed gravel site under a cover. The dead end road to it is 1 lane with few neighbors and is very peaceful. The covered site and the half bath were great. Absolutely the best Hipcamp out of the 7 I have stayed at for sure. Squirrels barking in the trees, and hoot owls at night, and a great firepit with wood......a great place to chill out and unwind! I will definitely be back next Spring with my Harley to ride the awesome twisty, curvy mountain roads in the area! I hiked Turkey Foot, West and East Pinnacle trails and Flat Rock trail. It's 20 minutes to Berea with many places to shop and eat.

Leslie was very accommodating. She met us upon arrival. She was very pleasant. She has a nice farm. We got some good fire wood and farm fresh eggs. It felt very private, which was good. We spent almost a week there. It was very relaxing 🔥🌜⭐

This is the perfect spot, especially when you’re like me (new to the camper lifestyle, 24y/o) and have been driving for 8 hours only to realize that you didn’t overlap your days to check out from an old campsite and into your new site- on the same day. We were 30 minutes from the site we booked for the NEXT day, and not the day we had needed it. Allison’s property came in SERIOUS HANDY. Other HipCamp properties were available, but needed a 24 hr window to book. Then I found Allison. Our angel from God himself. Instant booking. $45 after taxes/fees. Best $45 we HAVE EVER SPENT. Cheaper and more private than a hotel, better than a Walmart parking lot. There’s a 50 amp hookup, and on the other side of that there is a residential plug in too. Two water spigots which came in handy too when we hadn’t expected to need them. The horses were chill, didn’t bug us. Only weird vibe we got was when we were setting up when we got there because in the large open field in front of the barn (we got there at dark so I couldn’t see) I heard an animal making a weird whimpering noise, high pitch. I asked about coyotes which they technically do have but anyway we were fine like they keep their horses outside, so it’s safe. Their dog was chill, stayed up by the house. Our two dogs didn’t even care, not sure if they realized they had a dog. They were great there. I will say if you have dogs though that the spot is on gravel so fur baby paws could be sensitive to it. But yeah, worth your money!
