HomeGrown HideAways is a farm, lodging, and event facility nestled in a hundred-acre holler in the Appalachian foothills near Berea, Ky. Our lodging features treehouses, yurts, a bunkhouse, retro camper, water/electric hook-ups, and campsites. We also host weddings, retreats, and other events so advance reservations are required.
For insurance purposes and the safety of our own livestock and pets, we do not allow guests to bring their pets/ESAs onto the property. Prepare to UNPLUG as we do not have cell service or wifi (there IS a landline for guests to make phone calls located in the Community Farmhouse).
All guests from tent to treehouse have access to our solar-powered Community Farmhouse featuring a fully-stocked chef-inspired kitchen, restrooms, coin-op laundry, and upstairs multi-purpose room with a library and board games. There is also an outdoor kitchen area with additional cooking space including a grill, microwave, and sink (sink is closed in the winter so the pipes don’t freeze). Next to the Farmhouse is a massive pavilion with picnic tables for al fresco dining and firewood bundles to purchase. BRING CASH!
Our seasonal bath house is generally open from April or May to October or November based on the prevailing temps. There are 4 flush toilets, 2 sinks, and 2 hot showers. The floors are concrete so we recommend shower shoes and you'll want to bring your own towels and shampoo/soap.
The farm has a small playground, yard games, creeks, and a steep and rugged hiking trail that loops the mountain. We're also just 8 miles from the hiking trails at the Berea College Pinnacles, 8 miles to Owsley Fork Reservoir, 20 minutes to Anglin Falls, 12 miles to Berea, 35 minutes to Richmond, Ky, and a scenic hour to Red River Gorge.

South of Lexington, in the heart of the Bluegrass, our little farm is making a big impact on our community. We raise chickens for eggs and meat, sheep for lamb meat, occasionally turkeys and a wide variety of produce and berries, along with bees for honey. Our peacocks are here for pure pleasure, but we do pick up feathers and design crafts with them from time to time. Whether we're planting seeds, gathering eggs, or rounding up sheep, there's always something happening on the farm. Close by there's lots to do: golfing, fishing, boating, hiking, birding or touring the bourbon trail.

Staying at Sticky Wicket Farms was a great experience in no small part due to the wonderful host Leslie. We opted for the quiche and cinammon rolls and both were homemade, hot and delicious. Having full hook-ups was very convenient. We really enjoyed walking the drive and seeing the animals. Thank you, Leslie!!

Leslie was very accommodating. She met us upon arrival. She was very pleasant. She has a nice farm. We got some good fire wood and farm fresh eggs. It felt very private, which was good. We spent almost a week there. It was very relaxing 🔥🌜⭐

Great place to set up camp. I stayed for several nights and had a peaceful experience. Leslie is an absolutely wonderful person, and such a hard worker!! It was enjoyable to watch the animals and walk my dog in her orchard! She is in the process of creating a very cute BandB.
There is many interesting attractions nearby!

Exceptionally clean restroom. Wifi is acceptable.
I was only swinging through for a single night with my 2 kids on way home from vacation. Had some issues connecting to Wi-Fi at first but once I kept PC near the electric pole it was good. I was able to teach kiddos in China using it. Keep in mind that this is a wedding venue that just happens to have a few camp sites so I wouldn't pick this for an extended stay if you have kids. It's not designed with that in mind. If traveling with kids for extended stay I would reccomend the Bowling Green KOA. Not much trees or grass at this wedding Venue. It's like a rocky mountain landscape theme. For a night or two while traveling somewhere it's fine. There is water to look at but you can't walk down to it. It would be nicer if they brush hogged and made a walking trail down to the water, but it is still pretty to look out over. All sites are full sun so that combined with the boulders absorbing heat makes for a hot place, but by evening it did cool off. The boulders are an interesting landscaping choice. Kids thought they were cool. Campsite fulfilled our needs.

Camping here was really amazing in so many ways… but mostly because we really felt welcome. The host was prompt with communication, clear with instruction, and attentive to our comfort.
We also loved the scenery during our drive, the view from our campsite, and the *Incredible* quiche.
Highly recommend!!!!

We stayed 2 nights at the farm in our class B. Toured distilleries all around the area and loved coming back to this beautiful setting. Gravel pad is level, it’s easy in and out and amenities are as advertised. Host checked on us during bad weather. Hospitality is exceptional - Will def return!

We camped here for two weeks and were sad to leave. Jessa and Nathan made us feel very at home, tucked away in this precious holler. We enjoyed the silence of the night, the fog in the morning, the creek near our campsite, and the incredible hike right on property. We stayed in our 30 foot converted school bus in one of their RV back in sites. We were able to park quite easily, and there was plenty of space to maneuver the bus into the spot. The sites were level with gravel. The creek was actually quite warm to swim in. Our starlink internet worked well! Nathan and Jessa were friendly and quick to respond to any of our messages through Hipcamp. They were happy to share any cool things about the property or the town of Berea. They were respectful of our privacy and also made great company while using the kitchen in the community space. We had a fun time in the moments connecting with them over their garden and chickens. We certainly intend to be back. We really liked the community aspect of their property, encouraging people to connect. We also liked that they had their own products for sale at a reasonable price. We enjoyed everything from their eggs, asparagus, to things like apple butter and fresh garlic powder; all from their own land. We appreciated their complementary springwater. Their generosity and kind hearts truly made this beautiful holler a gem you are going to want to visit. Thank you for such a great experience. We hope to cross paths again!

Amazing as always! We had a group of 50 there in all types of camping (campers, tents, treehouses, etc). Everyone had a great time and we were able to both gather as a group and have some fruitful family time. Looking forward to coming back!
