30 years ago this was a pay lake it has been shut down for years. I got it a few years ago for a family getaway. So there is some really nice fish in the lakes. Create your own family tradition in this campsite that is ready for two campers on a total of 160ft gravel space. There is both 30 and 50 AMP electric, however no water or sewer hookup. You must provide your own water. There is a dump station 5 miles from the campsite at Tipsaw Recreation Area.

TWO SPOTS TO CHOOSE FROM……
The camping spot we refer to as the NORTHSIDE SPOT is a flat yard atop a hill it makes for a great spot to park your RV, camper, tent or boat. This grass camping spot is always mowed and clean. Two large pine trees provide some shade for this northside camping spot. You can enjoy nearly panoramic views of the night sky! This spot is alongside a country road. It is considered less private than the SOUTH SIDE SPOT.
The SOUTH SIDE CAMPING SPOT, is for tent campers only with a smaller vehicle. It is very private and completely surrounded by woods. This spot can accommodate two tents and one or two cars. There is no view of the night sky since you are in a dense forest.
Patoka lake is less than 10 minutes away ( boating, fishing, hiking, swimming, biking).
Holiday World ( an amusement park) is about 30 minutes away.

Our family is devoted to history and preserving the essence of the past. You may very well see us pull up in one of our antique cars to greet you! Our neighbors are friendly and many are also small farmers. You can't see their farms from camp, but don't be surprised to hear roosters crowing, cattle mooing, and donkeys braying in the distance. Great piece of secluded land with a cool fire pit and some great walking trails. Chairs and fire tools available. We have 62 acres in total, with a homemade suspension bridge, a tree house, chickens, goats, and a friendly dog. A small spring-fed stream runs right by camp. Blue Horse is a hidden gem! Quiet, relaxing, and unfussy while still having everything you need for a wonderful camping experience! Firepit, grill, outhouse, tent platform, covered cooking area, and there’s even kayaks and a canoe, with paddles and life-jackets provided. The stretch of the Little Blue River that the camp is on is calm and easy and a small dock allows for boat put-in. Lots of hiking and outdoor options abound nearby. Perfect choice in the i64 corridor/Hoosier National Forest area. Angie and Paige are fantastic hosts, you can’t go wrong!

Loved the place. So peaceful, quiet and scenic.
Since it was quite muddy because it had been rainy, we stayed at another camp site which had an incredibly beautiful view on the lake, and a small hill behind that made it feel very private.
Hosts were kind, attentive and welcoming, and the domain is well kept and safe. We enjoyed the sporadic company of their dog, and also appreciated very much the clean restrooms and showers. (Yes, also had hot water ) Wifi is also available around the premices, which proves practical if we needed it occasionnally.
Jeffrey’s cliff is a local hike you can do, it about 20 mins away. It was a recommended by the host. Some of the highlights of our stay were seeing a giant owl and also many hummingbirds around the main house.
Highly recomend for peaceful campers that are fond of nature and scenic surroundings.

Absolutely stunning and peaceful place. Chuck and Van were very welcoming and helpful. Chuck even came by to make sure we were able to start our fire. It had been a rainy weekend. We fished, had a bon fire, explored, and learned about this historic and beautiful place. We hope to return again soon.

Chuck and Val were such kind hosts. Tar springs was truly beautiful and the tent camp sights were perfect couldn’t even tell others were around us camping. We were camping 10 ft from the water and we caught some good fish ! Caught a 13 lb channel cat. The bathrooms were beautifully done and such a great amenity would recommend this place to anybody!!

We had such a great time staying at the cliffhanger spot! We were nestled in between a cliff and a waterfall! Although it was raining the entire first day we were there, our campsite stayed completely dry and cool. We were in walking distance from the beautiful and clean men and women’s restrooms. Being able to take a hot shower was so nice! It was a little difficult to find the main house but Chuck and Van were able to give us specific directions! I do recommend letting Chuck and Van know if your car is four wheel drive. Overall I give the campsite a 9.5/10 only because our car was two wheel drive and the ground was very wet lol

Lovely piece of land away from it all but super reasonable driving distance to Louisville area. Being aware of the hike to the campsite by the river we brought a wagon that was very helpful in shuttling our items. We hammock camp and there were many options for good trees for hanging near the campsite. Saw our first fireflies of the season and heard many birds and an owl! Lovely time, thank you Ken!

It was peaceful. A nice bonus when you have a ton of work to catch up on. Also important for someone working, both verizon and tmobile had service.
Host is incredibly accommodating. I had several things not go as intended, and he was gracious and responsive each time.
The potable water is a bit further than a hose, so maybe fill up on arrival so you don't have to move after you are parked. Or maybe you are more organized than me and won't get a concussion from random things if you don't organize before moving.

Wow!! What an absolutely beautiful spot! Our site was tucked away and private, right under a cliff. Sweet dog on the property and Van was super kind and helpful. WiFi available at the site if needed. I’d recommend this for anyone wanting some quiet time away. Couldn’t recommend enough!
