HomeGrown HideAways is a farm, lodging, and event facility nestled in a hundred-acre holler in the Appalachian foothills near Berea, Ky. Our lodging features treehouses, yurts, a bunkhouse, retro camper, water/electric hook-ups, and campsites. We also host weddings, retreats, and other events so advance reservations are required. For insurance purposes and the safety of our own livestock and pets, we do not allow guests to bring their pets/ESAs onto the property. Prepare to UNPLUG as we do not have cell service or wifi (there IS a landline for guests to make phone calls located in the Community Farmhouse). All guests from tent to treehouse have access to our solar-powered Community Farmhouse featuring a fully-stocked chef-inspired kitchen, restrooms, coin-op laundry, and upstairs multi-purpose room with a library and board games. There is also an outdoor kitchen area with additional cooking space including a grill, microwave, and sink (sink is closed in the winter so the pipes don’t freeze). Next to the Farmhouse is a massive pavilion with picnic tables for al fresco dining and firewood bundles to purchase. BRING CASH! Our seasonal bath house is generally open from April or May to October or November based on the prevailing temps. There are 4 flush toilets, 2 sinks, and 2 hot showers. The floors are concrete so we recommend shower shoes and you'll want to bring your own towels and shampoo/soap. The farm has a small playground, yard games, creeks, and a steep and rugged hiking trail that loops the mountain. We're also just 8 miles from the hiking trails at the Berea College Pinnacles, 8 miles to Owsley Fork Reservoir, 20 minutes to Anglin Falls, 12 miles to Berea, 35 minutes to Richmond, Ky, and a scenic hour to Red River Gorge. Queenslake is a 140 acre working horse farm with a 40 acre fishing lake with three barns and 30 horse pastures. Trails are located around the lake and through the forest for hiking, jogging, biking, ATV, horses. Great scenery. Awesome sunrises/sunsets.

Patrick's Point is absolutely incredible. If you're visiting Cumberland Falls, this is the spot. Patrick and Angelica are such wonderful hosts. We felt like family, and I look forward to bringing my kids back to explore some more! Things of note: no major bug issues in the shack. We didn't need mosquito nets. Bathrooms are clean and plentiful. Showers are hot. The chickens are amazing...as are their eggs. Lots of on site activities and the most wonderful hosts. Book it!

3 nights at Whimsical Treehouses and Trails!!

We had such an amazing experience staying in the treehouse. The children loved the slide on the balcony and the giant net hammock. The treehouse is well-equipped with electrical lights, fans, outlets, a space heater, and an A/C window unit. There are several miles of hiking trails to explore on the property, and we enjoyed crossing the net bridge and seeing the ruins of the 19th-century settler's cabin. Everything looked just like the pictures, and my kids were so sad to leave--they said they want to live there forever!

My husband and I had the most amazing time this past week. From the views of the river to the views of the sky everything was perfect. We heard the owls at night which made for a great evening by the fire. We stayed in the river shack and woke up to the sight of the Cumberland river every morning. Bugs are minimal. Clean bathrooms and showers. Although I did not get a chance to use the second set of outdoor showers I did check them out and looked very inviting. We stayed for 5 days and was not looking forward to come back to civilization.

Perfect place for kids (5 and 4). They loved the treehouse. I appreciated all the whimsical things on the property: we hiked the hobbit trail, played in camp creek for hours, crossed it on the rope bridge, swung on all sorts of swings, brushed wind chimes, and knocked out most of the scavenger hunt.

I stayed in the river shack shelter and loved every second. Patrick the host said he was bringing in the owls that night. It was incredible. There were owls calling and landing in the trees all around us for hours. The view of the river and the sounds of wildlife were exactly what I was looking for. I had total privacy in the shelter and no one was camped near me. The property was gorgeous and there was even a waterfall to explore. I can't wait to go back again and again. I plan to stay in all of their different cabins and hope to check out their 3 mile hiking trail in the future. Patricks Point River Camp is a great place to visit.

2 nights at Whimsical Treehouses and Trails!!

Staying in a tree house has always been a dream of mine, and this one was fabulous. The house was great as was the area surrounding: fire pit, hammock and swing. We spent many hours on the trails and especially enjoyed Jacob's Ladder trail. There was peace of mind knowing the whole property was fenced in. We felt very safe and our dog loved walking the trails off leash with us. Bad weather rolled in our last night, and Shelly was very communicative, making sure we were aware of the watches and warnings, and giving options for where to head if we felt we were in danger.

Book it. You won’t regret it! We the river shack, and it was better than we imagined. There was space for a full sized mattress on the ground (could do a queen, too I’m sure), and there were two bunks inside that we used as shelving. Fire pit had a stove-table that you could place on the fire for cooking. The breakfast was awesome! Straight from their farm! Very kind people, very relaxed campsite. Loved it!
