My great-grandfather purchased this land in 1921 and since then, my family has been farming the best way that we knew how. For the last 30 years, that has meant a divergence from traditional farming practices to focus on regenerative farming-- farming that focuses on enriching the health of the soil and the animals instead of depleting it.On our farm, we raise beef, lamb, pigs and chickens and they all live out on pasture. In our farm store we sell meat, eggs, and raw, all-grass dairy products like milk, butter, cheese, kefir, and yogurt. Our customers drive from all parts of central Kansas to shop at Jako Farm because our food is different than food in the grocery store. We call it JakoPure food.Not only do we share our life-giving, gut-restoring food with others, but we want to share the experience of our farm, too. That's why we've started hosting guests on hipcamp so that you can truly experience what's special about our farm. Each location provides a unique perspective on our farm, and you'll engage a different part of our story at each place. But wherever you stake your temporary claim at Jako Farm, we hope you experience the peace and rest that we know and love.Learn more about this land:Jako Farm is a working regenerative farm, and this campsite provides an easy view of all that goes on here. The cows and sheep will graze near by while the chickens scratch in the distance. You'll see the farmers moving the animals to new pasture and the llama playing games with the sheep. If you're up at sunrise, you'll see Ken bringing the cows up to the barn for milking (April through November). Its pretty quiet here, except for the subtle noises of wildlife. (Fair warning: if you're in a tent, you will probably hear the milking machine kick on at 6:30am.) We're also proud to be a smell-free farm because all animals live out on pasture. There are killer sunrises and sunsets here. If you're lucky, you'll also see our resident bald eagle pair soaring through the sky.A bathroom with shower is available for your use in the barn nearby.Please be respectful of farm operations, although we're always open to answering questions if you see us around. My great-grandfather purchased this land in 1921 and since then, my family has been farming the best way that we knew how. If you're up at sunrise, you'll see Ken bringing the cows up to the barn for milking (April through November). Its pretty quiet here, except for the subtle noises of wildlife. There are killer sunrises and sunsets here. Awesome property! You really don’t feel like you’re in Kansas anymore when you’re down by the river and bluffs. Owners are incredibly responsive and friendly. Campsites are spaced out enough where you get the feeling you have the whole place to yourself. You’re not more than 25 minutes from Hays and 20 minutes to Plainville. I’ll definitely be going back.

I could spend very good time with beautiful sunset, the flocks of ducks flying together, and the groups of goats and sheep were also wonderful. And clam night.
The owner is very kind and with many hospitalities.
We can do a campfire in the firepit or we can bring a portable firepit. The parking location has some flexibilities, so I could park my car as a wind shield.
I guess that family camping is also recommended, if you like animals and if you are beginners.

The ranch itself is in a beautiful location and the spacious camping spots are right along the river with great views, big fire rings, picnic tables, and close proximity to a clean porta potty! They even offer delicious bbq meals to purchase- we had the brats and potatoes and it was excellent! Highly recommend this Hipcamp and we absolutely will return!

Had a wonderful Campsgiving at the beautiful Quail Vally Farm. Hosts were helpful and super friendly.
We tent camped, but the place seemed like it would be a lovely place for an indoor or outdoor ceremony. You can tell that the place is set up for events. There are a few nice little ponds to fish and a real nice disc golf course. We’d never played before but our host Laura let us borrow a few discs, and one of our kiddos played for hours at a hole near our campsite. There’s plenty of space to roam and hike around, the property is well maintained. We really enjoyed the local wildlife, there were so many birds!
We were especially thankful for the nice facilities. I would highly recommend this Hipcamp, for a large gathering of any kind, there’s something for everyone here.
