5 nights at Handyland

Beautiful and open space foe camping. The views, weather and property where better than expected. My boys loved the creek! We typically like to not stay in the same place twice but this might be an exception. Keep in mind this is tick country so come prepared and check often.

Weekend Trip to Hidden Valley River Camp

We had a wonderful time camping at Hidden Valley River Camp! My husband and I took our 8-year-old daughter and dog camping overnight and everyone had fun. The campground is very peaceful and we loved how private our spot was. It was awesome being on the creek so that our daughter and dog could explore while we relaxed. The hosts were so nice and accommodating! We highly recommend checking out their property.

Weekend Trip to Hidden Valley River Camp

We have tent camped two years in a row at this location and the hosts are so friendly and helpful. Kathy is readily available to communicate any information necessary. Scott always comes around to check in and make sure we have everything we need. He even takes the kids on golf cart rides, which they love! Their property is in wonderful shape, and the bathrooms are always very clean. It’s just a great location and good vibes. This year we brought friends who had never been before and everyone had a wonderful time. I’m sure we will be back!

1 night at Nightfall Farm

Liz’s cabin is charming and cozy. The property is beautiful and Liz was kind and responsive. We took our kids to creek stomp and swim at Muscatatuck county park about 30 minutes away and it was perfect, just what we were looking for! I would definitely recommend a stay at nightfall farm. *there is a barn cat that comes and hangs out at the cabin (outstayed his welcome as he stole some of our food and tried to bite me). Just beware if you are not cat people. Liz kindly put him away after we asked her.

1 night at Secluded Mt. Airy Camp

I loved tent camping on this property with the fire pit. Close walking distance to the Arboretum which was a nice surprise. Everything is secluded but stores are also easily accessible. Very enjoyable beautiful spot!

Weekend Trip to Camping Along the Old Bison Trail

I had an amazing stay at Steepleview Farms! The tent site was spacious with plenty of room to spread out and set up camp comfortably. Marcus was an excellent host—super communicative and responsive to both texts and calls, which made everything smooth from start to finish. The site itself is peaceful and private, surrounded by trees with plenty of trails to explore nearby. The fire pit was a great touch, and having a porta-potty on-site was really convenient. Firewood was also available for purchase, which made campfires easy and enjoyable. Honestly, there was nothing I didn’t like about this place. If you’re looking for a quiet, well-maintained campsite with a reliable host and great amenities, I highly recommend Steepleview Farms!

1 night at Camping Along the Old Bison Trail

This was our first time using Hipcamp, and we had a great experience. The host was great to communicate where our site was located. It was a peaceful, quiet night. I’ll be using the platform again, and I would consider staying here again if in the area.

Weekend Trip to Camp Kokovoko

We stayed at the Dixon Hilltop Campsite. It is beautiful and secluded. If you like primitive camping - this is the place for you. Sunrises over the hill with a cup of cowboy coffee are amazing. Our kids were able to roam around, but we still felt very safe and comfortable with them out of our site. Kokovoko Farm is a lovely "little" working farm. If you take the time to talk to the host Leslie you will get lots of lovely little insights to the farm and a great history of the Gotland ponies she raises. Fair warning this is primitive camping and about as close to backpacking with out moving everyday that you can get. So if you expect easy camping with electricity, toilets and lots of water - this is not for you. If that sound great to you then this is the perfect little slice of camping heaven!

I loved tent camping here! The property is gorgeous and so well maintained, and the hospitality is unmatched. I brought my kids here for their first “real” camping trip and we loved every single minute of it- thanks so much for having us!

Weekend Trip to Nightfall Farm

The cabin was amazing. It was all I could ask for in a secluded retreat without actually being too far away from folks or from home. I didn't get to chat with Nate, but Liz and her mom, Carol were amazing. Croft was also a very attentive host as were the doggos. The woods were great to walk in and get connected back to nature. I would recommend to a solo camper or someone bringing a friend. Oh, the outdoor kitchen was amazing.

Weekend Trip to Away at Green Hill

We had a great weekend tent camping on Gobbler’s Knob. The site felt private and the property was very quiet (besides the lovely birds!). The outhouse was clean and well stocked, and the firewood nearby was super convenient. We would definitely camp here again!

Weekend Trip to Hidden Valley River Camp

Wonderful campsite! Clean, private, quiet, and safe. The portapotty was in pristine condition and the handwashing station was a nice touch. Kathy and Scott were wonderful hosts! Kind, friendly, and very accommodating. Each site had a picnic table and fire pit complete with a grill to cook food over the fire. The hosts provided a trash can as well. Our dogs loved the trip too. 10/10 stars!!

Weekend Trip to Carriage House Farm

We had a great time at Carriage House Farm! Richard the host was gracious and outgoing and wanted to make our stay enjoyable. The sites are spaced apart to provide privacy and have a long picnic table and a grill. A short stroll down the hill and you arrive at Lost Brigde Brewing Company. We enjoyed several live bands and local brews with a nicely stocked bar. Great chill vibe here and very dog friendly. Wonderful place to hang out. We'll definitely return!

Teri and Mike were great hosts. The camp site was absolutely perfect for our group. Abundant space for multiple tents to spread out and a central gathering space for fire and dining. We've already started discussing dates for our next visit. And yes, the Pit Toilet is as great as everyone says.

1 night at Hones Pointe Campground

We had such a blast camping at Hones Pointe. We spent one night tent camping over Memorial Day Weekend with our five little kids. The campgrounds are great for families - lots to do, fun areas to wade through the Little Kentucky River, and thoughtful amenities. We'll be back!

Nice storage container house. Had everything you would need. Shower was fantastic. We hiked to the creek and explored. We fished in the small pond for some small fish. The games around the storage containers were fun for kids. Great place to visit.

We recently moved from the next county over and are enjoying making this place ours and improvements for guests. Property is 15 minutes south of Cincinnati, close to the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport (CVG), close to restaurants and attractions such as Kings Island (approximately 1 hour), Creation Museum (approximately 25 minutes) and The Ark (approximately 25 minutes). Also nearby are several state parks and local favorites such as Big Bone State park, Rabbit Hash,and Riverbend. We have 2 dogs who walk with us on leash and recently added chickens and goats! Elmer and Clyde do like to wander and explore. They are very friendly. Learn more about this land: Gravel driveway leads up to both spots. We do try to keep it maintained, but frequently rain causes ruts faster than we can fill. It should not impede drivability, but use caution and feel free to ask if you have any concerns. #1 improvement planned is paving driveway. You may also experience some vehicle noise from roadway. Typically, as we are on a back road, it is fairly quiet but some drivers may be louder than others and some evenings see more traffic. In the winter months, neighbors homes are visible through the brush, but we just planted 28 7ft trees to help with this. The property features 2 acres of fenced in property, which is perfect for all size dogs. Hot tub and sauna on large wrap around deck, plus two propane heaters. Top floor features main king size bedroom with large deck. 2 couches and one giant bean bag chair, plus 2 TVs with PS5. 2 king size bedrooms on the main level. All 3 king bedrooms feature black out curtains. A queen "bedroom" in the downstairs next to the bar, pool table, and full gym. Aerial silks on top floor and main level. Two hammocks-- one by the grill and the other tucked in the woods. They are the wonderful cocoon type that you can easily fall asleep in. Beautiful trails weave through the fenced in property. Giant firepit area with plenty of space to pitch tents if some of the group would like to enjoy being outside. Bulb lights spaced around the property. Lots of wildlife that comes to visit, including multiple generations of deer who have been having and raising their young on our property for years. (There is NO hunting on our property) Property backs up to 50 acres of designated Green Space with a small creek that runs through it.
