With Amish farms and families all around. The Mirror Lake Bunkhouse has all amenities. You are welcome to cook over an open fire, use the grill or the small kitchen accessories provided. don’t forget the option is always available to go out to dinner with a restaurant only 4 miles away. Although we are located in the middle of the country. You can wake up to beautiful sunrises or take in breath taking sunset in the evening. The lake is a private lake owned by three property owners. Our Cabin # 2 “Old Phil” Is located on the west side of the lake in a 15 acre woods. About 1-1/2 miles away is Our cabin # 1 “Little Elk” Is located near the little Elkhart River. Nestled in its own 10 acre woods. Both of these properties are primitive ( no running water in an out house for a bathroom). Firewood is provided and there are trails in the woods to walk. The Mirror lake property has been a family farm for over 185 years. There is a family cemetery that dates to 1832. If you want to be around a lot of people in the fast track this is not the place for you. If you’re looking for peace, quiet, tranquil, social distance but still enjoyed this is the place for you!

Each site is in a wooded, shaded area with a flat area on the ground to place a single large tent. Each site has its own fire ring and a small wooden table. There is wood on the ground you may use for firewood, and ample twigs etc on the ground for kindling (do not cut any trees or branches off trees). There is a covered firewood shed with dry firewood as well. There are maintained trails with river access for kayaks. There are 2 porta potties near the campsites with a handwashing station, that is open year round. There is a single bathroom with flush toilet and sink with running water that is a short walk away (open May-Oct depending on weather) There is an outdoor on-demand hot-water shower at bathroom, with a water hose available as well. On-demand hot water heaters provide hotter water at a low water pressure, and cooler water at full blast.
We do provide a large trash bin near the porta potties for trash disposal. DO NOT throw trash into fire pits or burn barrels in the woods.
Campsites are a short walk (100-200 feet) away from parking area (you CANNOT drive directly to or park at your campsite). Foster Park is a short bike ride away where you will find greenway trails that run throughout Fort Wayne (ride your bike to downtown!!) Our property backs up to the St Mary's River, bring you kayaks and fishing poles!
(We reserve the right to assign you to a different (but equally beautiful) campsite in the case of property maintenance concerns, recent rain or weather conditions etc). All guests must be part of a registered group!

Our location is also home to our fantasy destination, The Fun Farm. Not only is the scenery replete with natural beauty - the pond, the fields, the sledding hill, the nature trail through the forest - but also a setting to engage the imagination!
Additional services may be arranged on-site. For example, who would you like to have breakfast with? A superhero? A princess? Or perhaps a souvenir caricature of you and your group is in order to commemorate the experience? Maybe an experiential art, dance, drama or music lesson? MORE NOTES ABOUT THE CAMPSITE: We're flexible with wherever you would like to pitch your tent, but the spots we have established are next to our cabin (where the lighting is best and the ground is flattest.) Parking is most easily found next to these sites as well (and the lighting is also excellent.) Also, in the near vicinity, a shared firepit is readily available and can accommodate at least 12 people.

Small hobby sheep farm, with a sheep pasture surrounded by woods. There are two shepherd's huts, three tent sites, a small fishing pond with a log cabin and a quarter of a mile hiking trail. It is a bird lovers paradise with a large variety of birds. The fisherman's cabin has electricity and AC (AC is new for 2026 season). The shepherd's huts and tent sites are off grid. Songdog Meadows is our little piece of joy, from morning swims in the pond, long walks with our retrievers and sunsets to take your breath away, it is truly and deeply a treasure we cherish. The property host a variety of apple trees, open grass land, and a large cluster of trees surrounding a 3/4 acre pond, while being surrounded by wood lots on three sides and open fields to the west. A stone fire pit and picnic table sit just off shore of the swimming area of the pond. There are several wide mowed pathways surrounded by prairie grasses, shaded by large trees. The area can easily handle several tents, hammocks and small RVs. The area is rural farm land with a handful of houses on the short dirt road. But this property is surrounded by wood lots and open fields. Two neighbors houses are visible but separated by trees. Our house is visible from the pond and camping area.

When we bought this property in 2013, it was a little run down. Many years ago, it housed sheep and cows. We revamped our little 15-acre farm and continue to improve its looks. Now it is our home and houses my riding stable. Many people have commented on how nice it is. I thought this would be a great opportunity to share its beauty and the animals with others.

We have 3 spots to pitch a tent, but we're pretty flexible. If you see another area, please ask!. Site "Woods" is most secluded. We now have a cabin!! Our "Chalet". It will sleep 4 and has some great amenities. The others are around our grassy barnyard area where you're able to enjoy all of our different animals!. All sites are 2-5 mins from the main house. You will be staying on our horse farm. We have many chickens, bunnies, a potbelly pig, feeder pigs (depending on the time of year), and our 4 house dogs. We offer overnight equine amenities as well. There are 2 showering options and restroom available.
You can enjoy a small fire (weather dependent) or listen to the crickets and frogs under the starry night. Actually, you can do it all. We offer trail rides on the horses as well, (extra charges). You can even book a trip to the state park to ride the horse trails, which is only 15 minutes away. There is a great fishing lake less than 1 mile from the farm, so bring your poles and kayaks. Or rent ours!
There is a Dollar General, 2 gas stations, and a liquor store in our tiny little town if you forget anything. Walmart is 12 minutes North of us.

Everyone should consider this site when they want some time away. Our multiple day stay was better than we imagined. The pond with water slide was perfect to cool down on the hot summer day. My family loved waking up and walking right out the front door for some morning fishing.
This location was close to town if your forgot anything and need to run to the store, but far enough away that you can back and enjoy the quiet. Every once and a while hearing the trotting horses, and the sheep and chickens dtarting the day.
The host was beyond hospitable, everything was clean on arrival and if you forget anything they probably already have it there provided.
Will stay again in the future, thanks for the great experience!!!

Titus was an outstanding host—friendly, welcoming, and always available without ever being intrusive. He gave us a tour when we arrived and made sure we had everything we needed.
The Basswood site was private, spacious, shaded, and just a short walk from the clean outhouse. The free firewood was a huge bonus, and the bathhouse was one of the best we've ever seen at a campground, with hot showers, towels, soap, and anything else you might need if you forgot something.
The lake was beautiful and well maintained, with swimming, fishing, a slide, and free life jackets and floaties. Even after heavy rain, we had no trouble getting in and out in our Hyundai Kona because the grounds are so well maintained.
The campground was peaceful, quiet, and surrounded by Amish country, with plenty of nearby antique shops, markets, and restaurants. We couldn't have asked for a better stay. Thanks again, Titus!

Beautiful location on the Mississinewa River, gorgeous rolling hills, super quiet (the geese wandering around don't count) and dark at night. While small with only a few spots available, we would not hesitate to recommend others to camp there!

Nice site behind the owners house next to their pond. Beautiful view and nature sounds on the pond. Gravel pad and grass field very nice and flat.
Just a note it is semi private, In their back yard (no visual barrier to their home). If you’re a light sleeper bring ear plugs for the light Road and train noise. Good communication and very helpful.!!! I would camp here again!

A great site to camp, whether overnight coming off the river; or for a long weekend. We stayed here on one of the hottest weekends yet this year. The whole campground offers ample shade to keep you out of the sun, if preferred. Site 6 was massive and very close to the river. There was also a Frisby golf course that my son loved and we played probably a dozen time. The shower is nice and hot, too! Thanks for having us!

Great full-hookup spot! The Barndominium is beautiful and the grounds include a pickleball court, fire pit with chairs, and great landscaping. We were the only ones staying on the grounds and it was nice and quiet. The owner was on-site upon our arrival and was very kind, welcoming and accommodating.
Would stay again and would recommend, especially for those looking for a place to stay near Notre Dame!
