Also evidence exists of this area being an Indian camp long ago as suggested by arrowheads and an old handmade rock wall.

'Indians' camped here year-round before the Pioneers arrived in 1821. During the early-1800s, a stagecoach station on the Cincinnati-Indianapolis line was built upon the Indian village. (Yes, stagecoaches in Indiana - that's how even Easterners got around before railroads).
During WWII our Camp provided RnR for soldiers, sailors and Army aviators stationed at the numerous training bases and facilities in/around Indianapolis and Central Indiana. It was our Granddad's Duty Station at age 60 while Grandma ran the canteen.

I had a great experience. I stayed at Holmes Hideaway site and it was beautiful - on the river with seclusion, fire pits, and plenty of tree cover. I went in mid-november and it was not crowded. Everything done through the app and I was left alone. It was a fun weekend.

We had a great time at RockyTop. The highlights for my kids(8 & 22) were Oreo, the pig, the dogs and fishing. It was mostly a very quiet stay. The only thing I would say is only 1 person could fish at a time but we were told that was a project they were tackling soon. Also, youre closer to the house than we thought we'd be but that didnt bother us at all. All in all, we would stay here again.

A perfect quiet and secluded spot by the pond! We loved that Jake met us as we arrived and got us situated with wood and other amenities. We even forgot coffee and reached out and Joni brought us some for the morning. Having the pond and boats added to the experience and my husband caught some beautiful bass. The children and I loved the land and the trails of fields and forest. Will go back again

It was very clean and upbeat. Steve puts alot of pride in his land. The sites are huge and most are VERY shaded. Our first night there a stray cat took our steak while we went for a walk in North field. She then came back everyday and became our camp kitty. We named her Steak. If your worried like I was about the farm animals coming to your site Steve teys very hard to keep them out of the main part of camp. I talked with Steve for a good hour very nice guy. See ya next year Steve (LOUDER THAN LIFE 2025)

We loved the free range animals. I didnt spend a lot of time at the sight, due to being in town for other reasons, but what time I did spend there was peaceful and pleasant. Also, Steve was very quick with responses when I messaged him to ask questions
