Large secluded cove near our barn and garden. Watch the sun come up from the orchard. There is 1 electrical plug so not all 3 spaces have electric but you can run a cord. There is also a single water spigot to share as well. There are 2 houses somewhat visible through the trees but no direct line of sight and otherwise private. We have 2 dogs, Whiskey and Barb, Whiskey will usually keep her space but bark, if you ignore her she will be friendly, acts mean but never bites. Barbara is a Jack Russell. She will jump in the truck if you don't tell her not to and will happily run off with snacks. We ask you please don't feed them as it will teach them to come for food and some people don't appreciate the dogs.. This is a farm so you may see and smell animals. Depending on when you book you may even be somewhat near animals. Be aware of this and be ready to keep dogs contained. We typically run pigs in the woods around the cove but we move them regularly and keep the smell to a minimum by doing so.

We also have a new to our farm rescued Great Pyreneese that is adjusting! She is in an enclosed pen behind our barn and should'nt cause you any trouble. You may hear her barking off and on as she adjusts to the new surroundings.

There is plenty of parking for small RVs and Camping Vans, Cars, etc. There is fresh delicious, clean and tested well water, 2 fire pits (lots of wood available for purchase, or just pick up some sticks around the property from the shade trees) There is a creek for wading in, lots of cats to love on, and places for hammocks, Electric outlets available to charge a cell phone, or other devices, and a simple compost toilet. If you are out of something just ask the owner or the dweller of the tiny house, we will share with you what we have. Momma Sycamore and our Weeping Willow offer a place of peace and quiet. Staying at Havendell was so simple and just what I needed. I was passing through the Indy area as I used to live here and just needed somewhere to park my rig for a couple of nights. My shuttle bus isn't fully built out, so having access to a port-a-potty and somewhere safe and quiet each night was just perfect, and Dave made it so simple. It felt very private and was an amazing landing spot as I passed through. Thank you again, Dave!

My favorite Hipcamp :) Been here so often it feels a bit like coming home to get in and get set up! Dave reached out to me a few days before my stay to give me a heads up about some minor flooding from the rains we had. There were no issues but it was great to have the heads up.
Quiet, dark, but safe and cozy. Highly recommend.

This is a lovely, quiet camping spot not too far from downtown Indy! It sits on a small farm with horses & chickens which are kept fenced off some ways away from the camp area. The camp area is a cozy gravel driveway in front of the horse barn, and the way it's laid out still feels private when sharing the space with other campers. There's a port-a-potty on site that is cleaned regularly and exceptionally. If you're car camping bring your own water to wash up. Huge open pasture space with open skies (but no shade during the day is something to be mindful of!) I loved listening to the sounds of all the blackbirds playing and chirping up in the willow trees. Watching the sunset here is amazing. Arranging this camping trip was hassle-free. Dave was quick to respond, his wife Tara is very nice, & and it was super easy to find the property with the big wagon for Havendell Farm out front. I just pulled in and setup camp. Also, I got great cell service out here, too! Thank you for sharing this sweet spot with Hipcamp!

You won’t be sorry should you be in need of a place camp or RV for a bit! The nights are beautiful out there too! We ended up staying on longer than expected. Kool fact, while I didn’t think him cocky, waking to a rooster in the morning is actually really cool:))
It was super cold for most of the night we were there but Dave and Tara were gracious and kind and shared some flannel blankets to help keep lab River warm. Filled my heart with joy to be welcomed so.
So grateful to have met them and found their wonderful location!! Added additional days as needed and they made everything wonderful!

It was super cold and snowy for the night we were there camping but Dave and Tara went out of their way to provide a drop cord for us so we could have power to our heater!
Much needed as the outside temp felt like -24!

Always a great stay at Havendale Farm. I've stayed many times in the car camping spot and this time stayed with a friend, so we booked two spots. Truly there's no bad location when you stay here! You can park in the shade of a tree and enjoy the rustle of leaves for the night. Dave is great and always very welcoming. This is my favorite place to stay when I'm in the Indianapolis area. A wonderful quiet farm stay as I was passing through. Lovely setup and I wandered around talking to the horses and the chickens and the turkeys (they didn’t answer back!) I would definitely stay again, and for longer if I was going to see some of Indianapolis. Thanks for a nice stopover at your farm!
