Easy to check in, came late and Mike helped provide me some light so I could set up my tent. He was very friendly and helpful. Everything was pretty much as advertised. It was a bit for me to sleep because dogs were be barking at random times thru the night. If you’re a heavy sleeper it shouldn’t be a problem.

Todd’s yurt was cozy and comforting—exactly what I needed for a short escape. About 25 minutes north of Sandpoint. The yurt is within viewing distance to the family’s yurt, but faces away toward the woods, and the family absolutely respected my privacy. I will definitely visit again when I want a simple getaway.

It was great. A nice simple building on the lake. It keeps the weather off of you. It's very simple not power(although they are planning on solar panels next year or so.) It was wonderful to watch the sun go down over the mountain. Fire buckets and a nice fire pit and plenty of dead wood around.

Accommodating hosts last minute and a beautiful spot, private with no light pollution and a beautiful vista. recommend, as others have said and the hosts too will admit probably, for experienced haulers because you will be backing up a hill. But, the host will be there to assist you. Conveniently located and low road noise. Having a gray water dump was helpful too.

Our property in Sagle has two separate sites but also close enough to be used as a group campsite. Each has a fire pit and picnic table. There is a porta-potty very close with a handwashing station and garbage can. Please note there is potable water in the property but not at the sites. These are dry sites without potable water, electricity, sewer hookups or dump. Initial supply of firewood supplied with additional available for purchase at a low reasonable cost. There are other traditional vacation rentals on the property including your hosts home. We are surrounded by tall trees where it is very quiet with the exception of many bird, the distant call of the trains as well as our resident owls. You will find a Lake Pend Oreille is 15 minutes away, Sandpoint is about 10 minutes away with a wonderful swimming beach and Silverwood Theme Park is about 20 minutes. There is lots to do here from fishing and hunting to boating and skiing. Come visit soon!

Adjoining the property there are thousands of acres of Forest Service land and just up the road is the proposed Scotchman Peaks Wilderness Area. Beautiful Lake Pend Orielle is only eight miles away and the Clark Fork River Delta and can be accessed just down the road in Clark Fork. Bring your kayak, canoe, or longboard for unsurpassed natural beauty. If an alpine lake is your cup of tea, Antelope Lake is a short (fairly easy) 90 minute hike away, I'm told the fishing is great!

Maverick Mountain Home

Maverick Mountain Home is perched on a mountainside several hundred feet above picturesque Trestle Creek, a protected Kokanee Salmon and Bull Trout spawning habitat, two short but gorgeous miles up the road from Lake Pend Oreille. Our property is hidden within an epic cedar, fir and pine forest, bracketed by the Kaniksu National Forest to the east and conservation land to the west. SPRING/SUMMER/FALL: Spend the afternoon at the Trestle Creek Recreation Area on the eastern shore of Lake Pend Oreille, only two miles down the road (just off Highway 200), where you can launch your boat, swim at the beach, or paddle along the shore in your kayak or SUP. Or, take an adventurous backcountry drive up Trestle Creek Road into the mountains of the Kaniksu National Forest where you can check out Lunch Peak Lookout, hike miles of pristine trails to one of the three nearby mountain lakes, explore several waterfalls, or drive the entire 35 mile backcountry loop down to the town of Clark Fork. If quiet rest is what you seek, stay here and find a secluded spot next to one of the creeks where you can hang a hammock and listen for that still small voice. Or read a book until the peaceful whispers of flowing water and breeze through the trees lulls you to sleep. You'll be in for a special treat if you book your site during the annual Kokanee Salmon spawning season! The salmon run usually starts during the last week in August or first week in September and lasts through late September. There are a multitude of viewing locations along Trestle Creek to witness this yearly miracle and snap some amazing photos! WINTER: Bring your snow machines and take advantage of sled in/sled out access from your campsite to the Trestle Creek loop system, boasting spectacular backcountry terrain with 50+ miles of groomed trails and hundreds of thousands of off-trail acres to explore! On-site trailer parking adjacent to the road is available. If skiing is your thing, Schweitzer Mountain Ski Resort is an easy (and gorgeous) 45 minute commute. Don't tell anyone, but Schweitzer Mountain is an absolute gem of a ski resort with 2,900 acres of gorgeous skiing terrain (and epic views) for all ages and skill levels. Our family spends a good bit of time skiing here. Winter Driveway Access: a 4-wheel/all-wheel drive vehicle is required to climb our driveway during winter conditions. OUR STORY: We (Tim and Molly) spent 14 years raising our young family in the desert heat of north Phoenix. Every summer we went dispersed camping as many weekends as possible with our four (now five) children in the backcountry mountain ranges of northern Arizona. We watched our family grow stronger together and sibling relationships flourish as the mental and emotional grime of the city grind was slowly washed from our souls during idle morning hangouts, afternoon hiking adventures and evening stories and laughs around the campfire. We had a particularly amazing mountaintop experience in 2014 backcountry camping over Labor Day Weekend where we felt a strong calling to share with others the blessings we were experiencing. Our hearts were impressed with a desire to host a place in the "wilderness" where people and families could escape and unwind from the noise and pace of city life for a few days and maybe even have a mountaintop experience of their own. After several years of waiting for the right timing, we started exploring and found this place in January 2019. By April we had sold our home in Phoenix and moved our family 2,000 miles north to this 27 acre property on a mountain of Hope. We named it Maverick Mountain Home, which captures our love of the wilderness, our mission to care for the lost, and our desire to be unbranded by the world. Upon landing here we immediately got to work preparing. We've spent the last five years working on hundreds of different projects, including: rehabilitating our driveway, beginning a long-term whole-house remodel, building a chicken coop, maintaining our driveway, fencing in a new orchard, chicken yard, and pig yard, planting trees, replacing a spring house, maintaining our driveway, installing underground infrastructure for future guest facilities, clearing trails, milling lumber, and maintaining our driveway. In 2024 we dedicated a good portion of April and May to preparing our first HipCamp site, Living Water, which went live on our wedding anniversary at the end of May. We added our second site, Boondock Butte in July with plans for several more sites in coming years. Since the first booking on our opening weekend we've watched as that line from "Field of Dreams" came true in our "backyard" - we built it and they started coming. The campsite is off-the-beaten path so you'll be away from the crowds, yet the site is still close to other area attractions like Lake Pend Oreille (10 min. drive), charming downtown Sandpoint (15 min. drive) and Silverwood Theme Park (30 min. drive). The beauty and allure of Mirror Lake led to it being featured in two Hollywood movies -- Dante's Peak (1997) and Mel (1998). The lake itself is excellent for fishing, and stocked with Kokanee, Brook Trout, Rainbow Trout, and Cutthroat Trout. The stocking is typically scheduled for the first week of June each year, so if you are an angler, it's best to come after June 7th for the best fishing. Paying homage to the Bigfoot legend in northern Idaho, the theme of this campground is all things Sasquatch! Can you find all 9 Sasquatch hiding throughout the campground? Swimming in nearby Talache Landing (a.k.a. Talache Beach) on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille is an absolute must-do. The views are absolutely stunning and the water is crystal clear -- and quite refreshing on a hot day. I'm a 3rd generation farmer, working the same land as my father and grandfather. Hidden Acres Orchards is a 60 acre, u-pick fruit, vegetable, and flower farm. Camp within the luscious fruit tree rows, in the middle of a vibrant pumpkin patch or even in the petting zoo! Animals welcome! IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO KNOW: We are a real working farm, not like a romanticized IG version of a farm. There are tractors running, sprayers making applications, farm animals loudly enjoying life, day customers picking fruit, and farmers about early in the morning. With that being said, we understand that experience may not be to everyone's liking. Be aware that if you do decide to camp here be ready for a real farm adventure! Being long time hard working Alaskans and living the Alaskan Adventure we could see no reason to be in our golden years and not have another adventure. Our many different animals provide us with entertainment and a purpose. Mini Donkeys asking for a bum rub and braying for breakfast always brings a smile. Alpacas, Llamas and Valais Black Nose Sheep, provides us with beautiful rugs from their own fiber that we sell in the Seven Stars Store. The rest of the hats, gloves, blankets and wonderful socks come from Peru. Mini horses that love to be brushed and even have their hair braided all make for an unusual experience. Sandpoint is a fun town with nearby recreational activities and has a great nightlife. This is a place to get away while still being close to the festivities. Many places to swim and fish nearby. The property is located a few miles from the lake.

Riverfront Base Camp

Park your RV, overland rig, pitch a tent, or sleep under the stars next to the Coeur D’ Alene River. Be advised this is directly next to State Highway 3. If you are a light sleeper, or road noise bothers you, this is not the campsite for you. At the camp, you can launch your kayaks at the river to go for an adventure down through the Chain Lakes, all eight are accessible by the river adjacent to where you will sleep. The bird and wildlife watching in this area is world class. Ospreys, hawks, turkeys and other animals commonly hang out in these parts. You can go for a swim at one of the sandbars, take your dirt bikes or side by sides down Killarney Lake Road to access an extensive network of trails and dirt roads into remote wilderness. There is no cell service, no water or electrical hookups, or toilet. As beautiful as it is, your experience will not be “glamping” unless you come with all the comforts you personally desire. You can hunt on the forest service land by 4th of July Pass, fish on the river, or on the Chain Lakes (with the proper permits, of course). There is a access into the water from camp but it is quite steep. For easy access to the water, use the docks or boat launch at Killarney Lake or Bull Run. Pets and kids are allowed at your own risk. Be advised the highway and river are hazardous for off-leash animals and rambunctious toddlers. Please send a message if you have any questions. I am happy to help.

Pitch your tent in a secluded cove of pines. Fresh well water within short walking distance (20 yds). Community covered patio with grilling available. LBR is primarily a tent camping campground. There are also many moles so the ground can be a bit bumpy. WE DO NOT ACCEPT R’V’s or campers larger than a camper van. 4 people per site, 6 max per site but that is $5 per person extra. little town of Bayview has a good restaurant Captains Wheel. 5 miles east on HWY 54. Something new near us! There is a new Super 1 foods grocery store with an Ace hardware store complex just after you turn off HWY 95 to come to LBR. NEW! Sweet Lou's BBQ Pit at Athol Crossings next to the Super 1. You can get all your food needs and many of your camping needs there. This will be very helpful to all our guests.
