All this, while keeping it classy ;-)
At Heirloom Hamlet, you will see us designing unique cabins, using solar energy, and composting organics. We're bread baking, pasta making, timber milling, woodworking, clay-forming and metal pounding. The goal is to evolve into a small world of self-reliance and in better harmony with nature. Ani and I are big believers in being mindful and respectful of our environment wherever reasonable.
Through good design, our goal is to show just how "normal" small living can feel. To be completely transparent, though, the creative inside us would also like to inspire onlookers. We've personally found it to be super fulfilling to distinguish our real desires and needs, from the ones we've been groomed to pursue. It's invigorating to then customize our path-less-traveled life. How cool it would be to have been a positive memory along another person's journey.
Visiting with us, we sure hope our guests don't expect to find a corporate approach to life here, that they can appreciate some of our old-fashioned ways. but our presentation at Heirloom Hamlet has been purposefully designed to be a refreshing hideaway from the norm.

My property used to be the disposal site for the CocaCola bottling Company. Go on a scavenger hunt and find old bottles. The Lowcountry is great for water sports, kayaking, boating, jet skiing, sailing, hiking and canoeing.
Each season offers an opportunity to participate in fishing, crabbing, shrimping or digging for oysters in local waters.
Our area is a favorite of cyclist groups, the long, flat, rural, scenic, roads offer pleasant riding experiences for cyclist of all ability levels.
There are bike lanes on many of the major roads.
Other recreational activities in our area are geocaching, horseback riding, tennis, golf, hiking, beach volleyball, beachcombing, and birdwatching.

Hi, I'm Curt. My wife Ani, son Fitch, and I are your average, everyday nonconformists who have been running an experiment. We are trying to figure out if a family can use their own hands and some grit to handcraft a life that you don't need a vacation from. Or better yet, that you would vacation to. Have we done that? Years ago we left our Miami handcrafted furniture business to pursue this new goal. We set out to build an inspiring experience in simple, eco-friendly living that would find a harmony between some of the old fashioned world that we'd found ourselves missing, and the handful of modern advancements that were actually beneficial. All this, while keeping it classy ;-)
At Heirloom Hamlet, you will see us designing unique cabins, using solar energy, and composting organics. We're bread baking, pasta making, timber milling, woodworking, clay-forming and metal pounding. The goal is to evolve into a small world of self-reliance and in better harmony with nature. Ani and I are big believers in being mindful and respectful of our environment wherever reasonable.
Through good design, our goal is to show just how "normal" small living can feel. To be completely transparent, though, the creative inside us would also like to inspire onlookers. We've personally found it to be super fulfilling to distinguish our real desires and needs, from the ones we've been groomed to pursue. It's invigorating to then customize our path-less-traveled life. How cool it would be to have been a positive memory along another person's journey.
Visiting with us, we sure hope our guests don't expect to find a corporate approach to life here, that they can appreciate some of our old-fashioned ways. but our presentation at Heirloom Hamlet has been purposefully designed to be a refreshing hideaway from the norm.

I was the first person to purchase property here in 1995 in what is known as Moultrie Plantation. This is a private property community with its own private dirt road. The plantation is rich in Civil War history and people still find arrowhead 's, Civil war buttons and other Civil War related items on the dirt roads where the soldiers marched through the plantation. We have a Zebu bull, which are the oldest recorded bovine in history, dating back to the Bible.

My property used to be the disposal site for the CocaCola bottling Company. Go on a scavenger hunt and find old bottles. The Lowcountry is great for water sports, kayaking, boating, jet skiing, sailing, hiking and canoeing.
Each season offers an opportunity to participate in fishing, crabbing, shrimping or digging for oysters in local waters.
Our area is a favorite of cyclist groups, the long, flat, rural, scenic, roads offer pleasant riding experiences for cyclist of all ability levels.
There are bike lanes on many of the major roads.
Other recreational activities in our area are geocaching, horseback riding, tennis, golf, hiking, beach volleyball, beachcombing, and birdwatching.

This was a last minute reservation because our planned hip camp canceled at the last minute (day prior). We had a great experience and highly recommend camping here. Curt was very responsive and helpful, and he sent clear instructions before our arrival. We arrived after dark, and he personally came over to help us get oriented to the property and its amenities.
He has done an incredible job. Every detail is not only well executed but truly artistic. Curt clearly cares about the experience and goes above and beyond with his hospitality.
For context, I spend over 100 nights a year in my camper van and have stayed in many places, and this was one of the best experiences we’ve had.
