For the price ($15 per night) it was great. It is next to a busy street but has a wood privacy fence on all sides except the entrance gate which you manually open and close. If you have a small dog, then you might want to take the extra boards lying next to the entrance to block the gap at the bottom of the entrance gate so your pooch doesn’t get out. There is electric, water and sewer but you will need 2 people for the sewer- one to hold the line to the drain and another to work the valves. There’s a wonderful swing and a fire pit to warm up to on those cooler nights. Be sure you have RV levelers as the ground isn’t level but most of it has asphalt under the sand so you don’t get stuck. It’s only about 20 minutes from Bucaneer Bay waterpark and the weeki watchi state park with the live mermaid show and river kayaking. And tons of places to eat at. The host, Amanda, is extremely nice and helpful. I would recommend this location especially if you’re on a budget.

Very unique and cozy place! They have everything you need! Laundry, kayaks, a grill, mini fridge , dishes and cooking utensils and pans , and right on the water! Dog friendly and hosts are easy to contact and very accommodating! We will be back to manatee landing retreat! We loved it!

Great place to park my small RV. Right on the river canal that offered great kayaking. Comfortable out door furniture with tiki hut and grill. Kayaks furnished if you don't bring your own. Great place I would recommend and will visit again. Thanks for the great place!

We booked the RV spot at Manatee Landing Retreat for Mother’s Day weekend, and even though the weather was mostly rainy and cloudy, it didn’t rain on our parade! In fact, having the place mostly to ourselves made it feel like our own private oasis.
The tiki hut was a total game-changer—giving us shelter when the rain did come through, and a cozy place to relax and enjoy the surroundings. When the sun peeked out, we made the most of it with kayaking, bouncing on the trampoline, and exploring the beautiful area with our dogs, who absolutely loved it.
Even with the clouds, the peaceful vibe and thoughtful amenities made it a weekend to remember. We can’t wait to come back—hopefully with a little more sunshine next time

Booked Michael’s place very last minute, and we were so glad we did! It was a nice quiet place to rest for the night. The host was very kind and responded quickly to any questions and was very accommodating when we ran late due to traffic. We loved waking up this morning and watching the chickens while drinking our coffee. If ever in the area again I would definitely stay here again!

This is a charming spot complete with all the amenities to enjoy the river. Having use of the kayaks, fire pit and bbq made it feel like home and interacting with the other guests made it even better. Would stay here again.
If your vehicle is wide or you are not super confident backing up this space may be intimidating and it is difficult to use the dump so we chose not to at this spot. If you have a van or smaller camper there should be no problem.

Michael’s place is one of our favorite Hipcamps… a gracious family sharing their beautiful, peaceful, homestead in the country with critters to visit and a sweet little flock of chickens milling about. Highly recommended! :-)

What a gem! This place is a water, nature and plant lovers paradise! Launching your kayak (or there a LOTS to borrow) from the property takes it to an entire new level. The fire pit, tiki hut and grounds are great! Will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Weeki Watchee! PS - I saw manatee, dolphins, turtles, every bird imaginable when I was there in early April. The trick to be out of the crowds is go up ABOVE Rogers park toward Mud River. I’ve done all of Weeki many times and this was by far my favorite!
