Weekend Trip to Shannon Trails bring your horses

Canopy over picnic table and an outdoor sofa made our trip so easy when the weather went ugly. There was a big grill and a lot of woods for cooking or just making fire. Bathroom was next to the camping site. Dish soap and sponge were there for us to clean our cooking utensils. Hot water shower is consistent, and good pressure.

I loved camping here! We booked this for Mother’s Day and it was so peaceful and made for a good experience. The nature trail and lake was enjoyable and Hillary was so helpful when I had some questions . Definitely 10/10 recommend!

The site was beautiful and very well kept with chairs, fire pit, and lights. The host was very kind and very flexible with us as we arrived late at night and he still met us to guide us to our site. The relics are pretty neat to go see as well as the cows. One thing to note is the mosquitoes are absolutely ruthless out there because it’s in swampy area, so bring loads of strong bug spray.

Weekend Trip to Myrtle Oaks

Vincent’s is a magical spot to camp! Great location to set up the Rv (or tent), very private, very safe location with nice open areas and beautiful large live oak trees. Close to everything you may need concerning grocery stores, etc., yet at the camp spot you are surrounded by woods and cool wildlife (so many owls, was awesome!). The host was super responsive, gave great directions and was very helpful. I would definitely recommend Vincents place!

What a great quiet place to relax for the weekend plenty of room between the three sites. There was one other camper there that had a generator, and from our campsite, you could barely hear it. So the three sites are set up in such a way that you hardly know anyone else is there we stayed in otter Cove, but next time we will try owl landing.. the host Vincent was very friendly but yet did not bother us all weekend.

Weekend Trip to Pure Paradise Lebanon station

I loved camping here so peaceful and serene. The waterfall feature was not on but it was really cool anyhow specially at night with it all lit up. Frank the owner is amazing he met us with a happy greeting gave us the Option of 2 different sites and also let us borrow his 50 to 30 amp plug for our camper because we had forgotten ours. There is a really cool Bar with a pool table and lots of seating and a small restaurant for you to eat there on site. It was an amazing place and can't wait to pass through again. Thank you Frank again for letting us stay there.

Great last minute find for camping outside of Weeki Wachee. Friends and I stayed in the private area and it was perfect as a hang out spot outside of our tent. Firepit, table for games and picnic area made our stay super fun. 100% recommend for tent setup

Absolutely LOVED staying at the tent site here. We were the only ones there, so had absolute privacy, which is really important to me, and one of the major reasons that I did not stay at a public campground. Plenty of room. Very nice bathrooms, and the firewood that they have for sale there is virtually match-light. Beautiful pavilion over by the river... what can I say? I loved it. Yes, there is noise from the road... it bothered my friend more than it did me. But for me, paying that small price for such privacy, was a small price to pay indeed.

We loved camping on Tracey’s land! Beautiful big trees and the cutest animals. Tracey was always quick to reply and very helpful. Toilet and shower was just as described: porter potty and an outdoor shower that can be used for a quick rinse.

I took my dad here for his birthday and we LOVED it! It was so nice!! Frank was friendly and accommodating! As was everyone there! Facilities were well maintained and very clean! There was also a really cool spot to hangout on the weekend which is on site! The food was amazing and the vibes were on point!

Campsite was quiet and peaceful, not crowded. I had water and electrical hookups for my van. Quiet at night even with the biker bar on property. I felt safe staying here. Outdoor showers were great, private, hot water! Bathrooms were clean and blissfully air conditioned!

3 nights at Pure Paradise Lebanon station

Frank the host works hard to keep up his property and is updating it when he can. There are currently about 4 FHU sites available (partially shaded) the others have full-time residents in them. Then there are 10 sites that have water (non-potable) & electric only. These are in a field with little to no shade. They is a ton of primitive campsites and these do provide shade. The restrooms are near the bar barn and the showers are near the FHU sites. The waterfall does not run all the time usually on weekends or for special events. There is NOT a party going on all the time. Some Fridays have a karaoke person in. If you really want to know when there's a big event I suggest you contact the host. Otherwise just enjoy the quiet. If you want to party or be busy Crystal River and Dunnellon are only about 25 minutes away. We happened to be there for a benefit for a local resident who needs a medical procedure. And some good money was raised for him, hope all goes well. Yes there are many motorcycle enthusiasts that make their weekend end trip out to the property.

Most people come to stay either in our rental cottage or in their horse trailers/RVs with their horses to ride the awesome trails in the 20,000+ acre adjacent Croom Forest. However, because our ranch is so peaceful, many stay here without horses just to enjoy the peace and quiet. There are many opportunities to recreate in the area, including outstanding mountain and road biking, OHVing, hiking, golfing, and canoeing/kayaking. Many full-time and working RVers stay for extended periods. Note that our camping area is small and intimate, so you will be close to other campers. We have 5 30-amp hookups, and 2 50-amp hookups; if you need 50-amp service, please request it. Note that a minimum of a 2-night stay will typically be required on weekends, especially during our busy season. WiFi is available, but we call it "Country WiFi" since it sometimes can be slow and may or may not be accessible from where you are parked; also, Verizon cell service in our area is terrible. If internet access is important to you, we suggest having your own hotspot or internet service (many working RVers have Starlink). Note that GPS can be very mean in our rural area; make sure your turn off Highway 50 is onto paved High Corner Road, which is 2 miles west of I-75 (if GPS tries to turn you down unpaved, dead-end roads, DO NOT LISTEN..you will get stuck!).

You’ll pass Homosassa and their State Park (the oldest Hippo Lu (65) lives here). At the waterfront restaurant ‘Crumps’ you can watch monkeys on an island! Dames Cave in Lecanto is about 17 minutes from here with multiple caves to explore. The famous Weeki Wachee Springs State park is a 15 minute drive south highway 19. Howard’s Flea Market is the largest in Citrus County, 10 minutes north from the camp site. ‚Adventure Flg X’ is a fun Zip Line park in Brooksville. Rainbow River Springs is an hour north from Twin Pines. The park has beautiful scenic trails and a water temperature of 72 degrees year round which invites you to explore the river in a tube or kayak. The Weeki Wachee preserve is another beautiful, close spot worth visiting. Disney World, Legoland and Universal Studios are within two hours. St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Tampa and Tarpon Springs are must-see cities! Beaches: Pine Island, Fort Island, Sunwest Park Beach. Further away: Madeira Beach, Honeymoon Island & Fort DeSoto. Rennigers Antique Center is located right up the street (less than 5 minutes away) for some great picking. We are conveniently close to the Central Florida Attractions and the beach on both east and west coasts within an hour drivep. A few Campers favorite places to visit are Mount Dora Bike Trail - 2.6 miles, Kelly Park - 11 miles and Kings Landing 12 miles from farm. We offer youth day camps on various dates, pony rides and a tour of our farm animals for an additional fee. Reservations required in advance due to the other activities we have going on. In 2007, we had no idea where this adventure was going to take us. Our small urban farm was sharing our miniature animals with assisted living facilities and Neulife, where we have 3 miniature horses that live on their property. Little by little we have evolved into more of a need to share with the community and help others with the relaxing qualities our farm and animals have to offer, we want to be able to share and better educate with hands on experiences, teach kindness, patience, confidence and help others to be the best they can be. Cotee River Bend

Our RV Campsites are located in a grassy field next to dense woods. Electric and water hookups are included in the RV/Camper sites, but not the Tent Site. All sites have a picnic table and fire ring. Our newly renovated restrooms on the property have toilets and one shower. A boardwalk takes you along the Cotee River to our open air pavilions with several places to sit and enjoy nature. Cell phone service is not a problem, as we are not that remote (although it sort of feels like we are when you are here) - we are 5 min from downtown New Port Richey, 2 minutes from groceries, gas, restaurants. This beautiful slice of Old Florida is named for the Pithlachascotee River that bends along the back side of the property. Pithlo is the Creek word meaning canoe, and chaskita means to dig or chop out, together signifying "place where canoes are chopped or dug out". Seminoles of this area used canoes dug out from the great cypress trees found along Florida rivers. From the 1980s until 2014, this property was owned by the Cotee River Lions Club. They held a popular monthly pancake breakfast fundraiser in the large pavilion along the river. We purchased this 4.9 acres of land in late 2019. It is now where we live and have a woodworking shop. It has been a magical place for us, with no shortage of wildlife, rich jungle forest, a lazy winding narrow river, and even the occasion river otter sighting. We are grateful to all the humans who have occupied this place over the centuries before us for keeping it as nature intended it. It is our intention to do our part to conserve and protect its natural beauty as long as possible. We hope you find it to be as restful and rejuvenating as we do.

There is world class fishing nearby at the St. John's River and we are right near many beautiful springs - which, if you have never spent time in a natural spring you will absolutely want to check that out! Kayaking, tubing, swimming galore in crystal clear waters. We are a 20 minute drive from the Villages which offers shopping, dining, and activities, as well as 20 minutes to historic Mount Dora which is a beautiful artsy downtown village. We are 1 hour from Daytona & New Smyrna, 1 hour from Orlando (Disney anyone?). There is plenty to do on the ranch and nearby the ranch. You will have a blast. We'll see you by the campfire!
