We have a nice little RV pad on the back of our coastal home. Situated on a little bayou that opens out into Choctawhatchee Bay. Crab Island is only a 10 minute boat ride away. You would have access to our small dock and there is a neighborhood boat ramp less than one hundred feet away. This is a great place for kayaks, wave runners, and small boats. If you don't have a boat, we can set up any kind of trip you want. We are all licensed captains and own multiple Crab Island businesses. So we can set up charters for you on the following boats:
Sailing trip on a restored 1963 Pearson Ensign. Can accommodate up to 6 people. This is a classic sailboat that is easy to sail and easy to learn to sail.
A restored 1966 Boston Whaler that is perfect for couples looking for a sunset cruise, etc. Can accommodate up to 6 people but it perfect for 2 -4. We can go to Crab Island, look for dolphins or find our own private island beach.
Waverunner tours. We can take you on a guided wave runner tour looking for dolphins and private beaches. You will drive one wave runner while our licensed captain guided you on another one. Insurance does not allow us to rent these out solo but there are many good vendors in the area to do that.
Inshore flats skiff targeting redfish and trout on light spinning gear and fly rods. This boat is best fished with no more than 3 people.

The neighborhood is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Fort Walton with large oaks and magnolias providing plenty of shade for bike riding and walking. Downtown Fort Walton with its shops and quaint restaurants is only a mile away. Didn't bring a bike, we have 2 you can use.
During the summer, there are fireworks every Wednesday night that are viewable from this spot.

We have a nice little RV pad on the back of our coastal home. Situated on a little bayou that opens out into Choctawhatchee Bay. Crab Island is only a 10 minute boat ride away. You would have access to our small dock and there is a neighborhood boat ramp less than one hundred feet away. This is a great place for kayaks, wave runners, and small boats. If you don't have a boat, we can set up any kind of trip you want. We are all licensed captains and own multiple Crab Island businesses. So we can set up charters for you on the following boats:
Sailing trip on a restored 1963 Pearson Ensign. Can accommodate up to 6 people. This is a classic sailboat that is easy to sail and easy to learn to sail.
A restored 1966 Boston Whaler that is perfect for couples looking for a sunset cruise, etc. Can accommodate up to 6 people but it perfect for 2 -4. We can go to Crab Island, look for dolphins or find our own private island beach.
Waverunner tours. We can take you on a guided wave runner tour looking for dolphins and private beaches. You will drive one wave runner while our licensed captain guided you on another one. Insurance does not allow us to rent these out solo but there are many good vendors in the area to do that.
Inshore flats skiff targeting redfish and trout on light spinning gear and fly rods. This boat is best fished with no more than 3 people.

The neighborhood is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Fort Walton with large oaks and magnolias providing plenty of shade for bike riding and walking. Downtown Fort Walton with its shops and quaint restaurants is only a mile away. Didn't bring a bike, we have 2 you can use.
During the summer, there are fireworks every Wednesday night that are viewable from this spot.
The site comes with water/sewer and 30 Amp hookup. The sight can accommodate up to 43' for trailer and vehicle.

We are located in Molino, Fl. which Is a small rural community north of Pensacola. We feature a 1 acre stocked lake, a canoe , dock and gazebo. Deer can usually be seen grazing on the dam and wild geese are often floating on the lake. We only have a few sites but they are all gravel based with 50 amp electric service. Water, sewer and trash, are also included. Washer and dryer are available on site. Lots of shade. Well behaved, leashed pets are welcome. Horses, and chickens on property. A great place for a family to retreat for a weekend and learn about gardens, wildlife and farm animals. Trails for walking. Horse lessons and riding available if interested. River boating, fishing or to collect driftwood can be arranged. Due to the property destruction in South Florida from Hurricane Ian we can possibly entertain longer stays.

You can also rent watercraft or hop on a dolphin tour, all from our unique downtown area.
Please note two things:
1. This is a spot to park and sleep. There isn't any hangout space to share with you on the property just yet. We have added a fire pit, but you must obtain permission first (which is not guaranteed) and the owners must be home to use it.
2. We're undergoing some cosmetic upgrades. Our neighborhood is beautiful and welcoming. Come experience the charm of Fort Walton Beach from the comfort of your camper spot!

We had a great 2-night stay here! The large fenced-in yard was a huge plus—perfect for letting the dogs relax outside safely. There’s nice filtered shade, and the site felt very quiet and private.
We appreciated the thoughtful touches like electric adapters, as well as access to water and garbage. It made everything easy and comfortable.
The nearby street was fine for walking the dogs, but honestly the fenced yard was the highlight. Communication was excellent, and the instructions were clear and easy to follow.
Would definitely stay here again!

Set up was a breeze on arrival. Jay met me and showed me my boondocking site - flat and plenty of room to pull in and circle around for my 26' TT. Keyed and gated entry was nice. Each day I heard the neighbor's rooster and a braying donkey - far enough away to be unobtrusive and near enough to be enjoyed. Other campers down the road were either tent campers or RVs enjoying full hookups. Met some nice folks!
Only had 2 other boondocking neighbors during my 7 night stay. Jay and Suzette were lovely and welcoming. Enjoyed evening conversation while the guys played horseshoes. The laundry/shower/toilet rooms were clean and well kept. Laundry rate was very reasonable. I enjoyed my time there so much I extended my stay a few more days.
You might want to bring your own fresh water as the water hose by the tank dump is not technically potable due to its location.

We had a great time. The property is beautiful. They had full hook ups for our small RV. The hosts Larry and Sheila were amazing and made sure we had everything we needed. There isn’t a place to put kayaks in, but I was able to take my paddle board up river and ride it back to the campsite. We can’t wait to go back.

We needed a boondock site for one night. We booked with Jay and Suzette and we were very surprised Bathroom, shower, laundry, little treats, and lovely trails around the property to take a walk or jog. The tent and RV-hook-up sites are scattered about giving alot of space and privacy . They were lovely hosts as well.

Gateway Trails is by far the best Hipcamp site I have visited. Jay and his pup greeted us to make sure we had everything we needed. We only made a quick overnight but honestly I could have stayed for days. Highly recommend especially to solo travelers looking for a safe place to rest your head.

Excellent pet-friendly, FHU spot for exploring around Destin/Ft. Walton. Wayne was very communicative and accommodating, and spot is in a very convenient location with everything you need. It was very private, as i was the only camper there at the time. They have a pavilion with a grill. A toilet room, outdoor sink, and a shower. It is outside so be mindful of cold weather, though they do have hot water. Fire pits, a self serve firewood station, a "Trading Post" that held different woods for smoking meats. A wonderful stay, and the host was very responsive. Thank you!
