7 nights at Smokey Acres

My GF and I had been looking for a cabin to stay at and found this lovely location. There are plenty of locations to go biking and kayaking as well. The only issues we found was that the shower would be either really hot or really cold so you had to play with it to shower well. Other than that great experience.

Weekend Trip to Shannon Trails bring your horses

Canopy over picnic table and an outdoor sofa made our trip so easy when the weather went ugly. There was a big grill and a lot of woods for cooking or just making fire. Bathroom was next to the camping site. Dish soap and sponge were there for us to clean our cooking utensils. Hot water shower is consistent, and good pressure.

I loved camping here! We booked this for Mother’s Day and it was so peaceful and made for a good experience. The nature trail and lake was enjoyable and Hillary was so helpful when I had some questions . Definitely 10/10 recommend!

We only spent one night. It was quiet, peaceful & lovely by the pond. We enjoyed the trail walk with our dog & left the following morning to continue our journey feeling refreshed & relaxed. The bathroom is primitive but our camper is self contained so no problem. Good location & easier to find than I thought it might be - good directions were provided.

What a cool little farm! Rob & Mike have an awesome setup on their farm - from the private camp sites to the outdoor shower/bathroom setup they’ve thought of all the small details. Although I was only here for a day, I’d definitely come back for longer next time I’m back in the area. For a first time Hip-Camper they’ve set the bar for what a stay should be. Hands down better than camping on top of others at an RV park or even some cramped state/national parks. Highly recommend!

This was my second trip here with my granddaughter this year. We absolutely love it here. We just love the idea of camping with free roaming horses and donkeys. My granddaughter spends most of the day walking around with them and feeding them apples and carrots. We also really enjoyed hiking the trails. We love taking the tour of the ranch to see all the other animals and hold the baby goats. The campsites and the property have always been well maintained and beautiful. The bathrooms and showers are always clean and you always have hot water. The whole experience that Lucky U provides is simply amazing! The hosts Rob and Mike are the best! They have a genuine love for their animals, property, and people. They provide awesome service and are very accommodating. We are already planning another trip for the summer!

Rob and Mike have a jewel in the crown. Their place is well thought out and the bonus of the horses and donkeys having breakfast with us was wonderful! The showers and coffee bar (an added bonus) are spotless. We will be back again.

We can’t express enough how lovely this ranch is , a beautiful area to camp with hot showers , and some of the best landscapes to wake up too. Rob & Mike are such pleasant people and made sure we were all set and happy through the stay. We also loved that they offer a weekly ranch tour and show you all the animals and even baby goats ! Probably one of the best “campgrounds” I have stayed at yet. We don’t even consider this a campground because there’s so much space between camps it’s truly such a peaceful space to spend time away. All of the springs , beaches and places to explore are within an hour to hour and a half including a 5 minute drive to the local river boat launch. My only advice to anyone staying is a little bug spray and keep your camps tidy and it’s truly a 10/10 place to stay. We are already planning our trip back to magnolia hill and can’t wait to see Rob & Mike again. If you’re thinking about a stay here , go ahead and book it you truly won’t be disappointed.

Rob & Mike are excellent hosts and offer a very peaceful camping experience. They have provided many extra’s and special touches for their guests. Getting to tour their ranch and visit with goats was a highlight for us. Not to mention being visited by donkeys and horses while enjoying morning coffee. We would definitely camp here again and highly recommend to our friends & family.

Weekend Trip to Happy Campers Rescue Ranch

Arcadio was super helpful upon arriving. He helped us switch campsites with such ease to one that would be more suitable for the amount of people we had and gave a timely refund for the one we didn’t use. The land itself is great, too. There are fire pits, chairs, and tables provided in great condition. Plenty of firewood spread around. And a lot of animal noises (farm and wildlife) that made the trip feel like camping. There’s also a great swimming area like 7 minutes away Arcadia told us about.

Welcome to Smokey Acres! This property has been in my family for decades. My Husband and I were married under the oaks and have had our share of campfires out there. Down a hidden gravel drive with wetlands on either side you will find a completely fenced in field surrounded by pine, oak, and swamp maple trees. There are two ponds located on the property both stocked with bass, bluegill, and sunfish. The front pond is home to many natural Florida wildlife and is a great location to bird watch. Located a few miles from Brooksville and the Suncoast Parkway, this quiet and peaceful setting is just 5 minutes from the parking area and trailhead for the Suncoast Trail and 10 miles from the famous Weeki Wachee Springs, where you can spend the day at the local park or float down the river with the manatees. Withlacoochee State Park and other natural preserves with trail access and kayaking are only a short distance away, and Dames Cave, Homosassa Springs, and Chasawiska Springs are all within a ~20-minute drive as well. Spending a day at the beach is easy with plenty of options along the Nature Coast. We’re also less than an hour from Tampa and Clearwater and two hours from Orlando. The Riverside Lodge Resort is a Waterfront RV Park and campground with all the RV Parks games, a fishing pier and all other camping facilities. We welcome canoe, bicycle and motorcycle clubs, airboats can be docked in front of your cabin.
