Weekend Trip to By the Pond...

We loved our stay in the camper! The site is located on a farm which was really neat and we were able to see baby chickens and pet pigs! We stayed in a non-fruiting season (just missed starfruit) so we weren't able to get fruit but if you're lucky enough to stay when the trees are fruitful the owner was so kind to share! We slept soundly and accessed the farm by opening and closing the gates at the entrance was easy! There are so many fun things nearby, and not too far from downtown Tampa. Definitely would stay again!

What a beautiful spot this is. Rakesh was very accommodating on our short notice reservation. My husband was able to stay there a few days while working in Florida. He mentioned the beautiful sunsets off the water and how Rakesh was a very pleasant host. My husband said we will stop in again when we visit Florida. 😊

1 night at Costa Myakka

The property is expansive and we enjoyed walking around it with our dog. Splashed around and wasted in the water for over an hour. Dog zoomies in the water?? Priceless! We loved our tent-camping site but on our walk we saw several other nice sites and a picnic area. Next time we may rent kayaks! We were pleasantly surprised there was a port-o-john on the property, which was very clean. The only drawbacks were slight. When we stopped at the homestead to meet the host, a barking dog announced our arrival. No front door clearly visible, so it was several minutes of the dog barking non-stop and me calling out for anyone who may hear before someone came out. I may recommend training the son how to host if he is going to regularly be the greeter. We will bring a shovel next time in case there are cow patties on the campsite, as they are not removed in preparation for guests. Otherwise, we enjoyed the solitude and quiet. Unassuming place and we were left to our own devices. We will save the spot for future visits!

Weekend Trip to By the Pond...

We had the most amazing visit. Having my daughter get to see all the animals and fruit plants and trees. Sit by the lake and see bee hives! Definitely coming back!

Weekend Trip to Costa Myakka

We continue to have a wonderful experience every time we camp at Costa Myakka!! It’s so beautiful and tranquil.. We requested firewood and Cary brought us a big bunch of great logs to burn. I highly recommend staying there!!

6 nights at By the Pond...

It's a fantastic spot. If you're looking for a central Florida type of get away you'll be hard pressed to beat this place. It's quiet, peaceful, birds galore. We spent 7 days here and I could easily spend 7 more. The hosts were great, they basically left us alone (in the best way, they were very attentive, friendly, and helpful). We traveled during spring break and had a beautiful site next to the pond. There's plenty of grocery and other types of stores within a few miles if you need anything but you'd never know it while sitting on site, it's very secluded and private. We'll be back for sure.

We love the solitude, starry nights, kayaking with no other soul in sight, watching otters play and listening to Barred Owls. Peace and nature.

The property is beautiful and Brian is super nice! He welcomed us, spent a little time talking and made me feel super comfortable on the property. The property is beautiful and at night, the Stars seem to be just out of reach of my fingers. As a new writer, I found that writing under the stars allows me to be more creative. My golden retriever was able to run around, as long as he stayed near me. The other folks staying there, I’m terrible with names, were super friendly and also welcomed us and made my dog and I feel at home! Yes, I will return and Yes, I’ll tell everyone I know! Very relaxing atmosphere with indigenous vegetation next to a nice size lake for fishing. Host hospitality is off the charts. Place has a welcoming , relaxed vibe. Perfect for a truck bed tent. My son and I enjoyed our stay & plan to be back soon!

It's on a beautiful spring-fed lake. Campsites are spread out, so very peaceful and a very attentive host. You feel like you're far away from it all, yet it's very handy to everything if you need groceries, camp supplies or even a meal in a restaurant. A great getaway.

Rakesh has a beautiful property. It’s very peaceful. It’s super quiet at night and very dark. We would stay again. Rakesh is such a nice guy. We really enjoyed talking with him and meeting his handsome friendly German Shepherd, Prince.

3 nights at Florida Farm School & Animal Rescue

This was the best experience we have ever had camping! We took our Grandkids and they NEVER complained about being bored! (That's a first!) The campsites were well positioned with plenty of privacy. It was directly in the open pasture and we were camping with the cows... something that may seem weird to some but was so much fun. All of the animals were gentle and never did I worry about the kids being around them. When we arrived Miss Sarah greeted us and explained the rules to the kids- Best thing ever because throughout our stay I could just remind the kids "What are Miss Sarah's rules?" And they would immediately stop any bad behaviors. Every morning theyt⁵ awoke and wanted to head immediately to the barn. The activities were amazing, the staff were A plus. We will return again and again! 10 out of 10! Thanks Sarah.

My family of four spent one night tent camping and had a great stay! Campsite 3 was tucked away from the other sites with plenty of room, close to the toilets and potable water. Mike was an excellent host and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. We’ll be sure to go back when the mangoes are in season!

Stay by a lovely pond on 33 acre fruit and ornamental tree nursery property with great vibes. Located near I-75 just 20 miles South of Tampa, 35 miles east of Saint Petersburg, 35 miles North of Sarasota, 2 hours West of Orlando. This property is home to a farm/nursery operation and has a large pond on the west side. The pond is Spring-fed at the headwaters of Marsh Branch Creek which begins at our property and flows West about five miles in to Tampa Bay. Approximately 33 private acres allows for plenty of space between our campsites. Property is home to a farm with hundreds of fruit trees- Lychee, Mango, Starfruit, Papaya, Guava). Red Mombin, and thousands of banana plants. Fishing can be great, wildlife and bird watching too. Fenced and gated for safety, this old historic nursery property has good vibes and plenty to offer. Until you see it - you really may not understand. Parts of property are wide open, other areas are rugged and difficult to walk through including some wetland areas. The nursery has plenty of trees, and some fields -the large pond is surrounded by cattails and marsh/wetlands and has fish (Bass, Tilapia, Sunfish, Catfish). Several species of wildlife have been seen on the property. We think the property is lovely, and definitely want you to enjoy your camping experience!

It’s a great place for safely biking or walking with green spaces, tennis courts, playgrounds and dog parks nearby. There are many owls, raptors, green parrots, purple martins and osprey overhead as we’re just a few blocks from the beautiful Boyd Hill Nature Preserve. - not to be missed! The Pinellas Trail is just a short bike ride away too and can lead you to downtown. It is a cyclists favorite! We love our city - happy to give recommendations.

Our property is six acres, and the central feature is our natural spring-fed pond with gorgeous waterfront views. The camping designated area is a one-acre pasture across the pond from the farm house we live in. If you like privacy, you will be happy to know that we have very few designated RV and glamping sites. The property sits at the end of a private road in a quiet country-like setting with mature oak trees decorated with Spanish moss. The current inhabitants of our farm include our three mini-cows, Stormy, Lila, and Boots, two donkeys, Pancho, a standard, and Cindy Lou, a mini. Another two friendly faces you will see are Liza and Louise, two Kune-Kune sows. Other animals you will see everywhere are our chickens, ducks, and other wild birds. The chickens and ducks don't have names but are also filled with personality. Our farm is strategically located. We call it 'one-hour and ten-minutes to anything'. Here's why: We are an hour away from Disney World, Downtown Tampa, the downtown St. Petersburg and Clearwater beach. Most of Tampa Bay suburban areas are also under an hour away. We are also a little over an hour away from some of the most breathtaking springs in Florida. Alderman's Ford, a Hillsborough County conservation park with over seven miles of hiking trails, is within walking or biking distance. The park's most famous attraction is a 1.9-mile paved and one of the state's most popular canoe spots. The loop, which is hiker, dog-walker, and bicycle-friendly, links with a boardwalk and footbridges leading into shaded woods of gigantic cypress and oak trees. There is also a designated horse trail. About 10 minutes down the road, the Alafaia River State Park offers some of the most radical elevation changes in the state. This topography is uncommon for most of Florida, making the park a hot spot for mountain bikers, equestrians, and hikers. The hilly trails at Alafaia River total about 20 miles and run through forests, flatwoods, and lakes. Lithia Springs is also a 10 minute drive and is well-known for its natural spring which flows year-round, cool, and clean water. Great for swimming on a hot day. Also, all standard suburban amenities, including banks, franchised restaurants, fast food, grocery stores, nail and hair salons, coffee shops, urgent care, etc., are 10 minutes away.
