The farm you’re camping on is one of the last family farms remaining in Columbia County and is named Glenn Farm after DV Glenn who married Hettie Lou Niblack in the 1930’s. Over the last 150 years it has been farmed by some of the county’s oldest families such as the Niblack and Ellis families. When DV Glenn came to Florida from his farm in Cairo, GA he took over the portion of the Niblack farm that was inherited by his wife Hettie Lou. At that time he was running native Florida cattle on over 6000 acres. Unfortunately, In 1951 he was killed in a hunting accident leaving his wife with the farm and 4 children (ages 4-11). In order to survive, Hettie Lou Niblack Glenn was forced to sell 5000 acres at $25 an acre. Holding a bachelors degree from Florida State College for Women, she was able to secure a job at the University of Florida as a secretary and with the money from the land sale she was able to raise her four children. Of the original farm, 600 acres remain intact and the Glenn family is trying to keep the farm as an agricultural operation. Your campsite is 1 of 4 spots (Arrowhead Sink, Dunagan’s Meadow, North Hall Pasture or Magnolia Sink). We also have a 1 bedroom Tiny home that used to be the farm office. Dunagan’s meadow is a pasture behind the old farmhouse (built in 1824), Magnolia sink and The North Hall Pasture are also on the main farm while Arrowhead Sink is on the edge of a hayfield about a mile down a dirt road. When DV Glenn came to Florida from his farm in Cairo, GA he took over the portion of the Niblack farm that was inherited by his wife Hettie Lou. At that time he was running native Florida cattle on over 6000 acres. Unfortunately, In 1951 he was killed in a hunting accident leaving his wife with the farm and 4 children (ages 4-11). In order to survive, Hettie Lou Niblack Glenn was forced to sell 5000 acres at $25 an acre. Holding a bachelors degree from Florida State College for Women, she was able to secure a job at the University of Florida as a secretary and with the money from the land sale she was able to raise her four children. Of the original farm, 600 acres remain intact and the Glenn family is trying to keep the farm as an agricultural operation. Caceres Organic Blueberry & Turmeric Farms is nestled in the heart of the Suwannee River Water Basin, home to some some of the most beautiful freshwater springs in the world. We have been a WWOOF host since 2011. Over 500 organic volunteers from around the world have lived and worked at the farm so we are used to creating an atmosphere of community and sustainable living.  We have cleared tent camping lots for Hip Campers in front of the on-property lake with easy access to swimming and fishing. There are two solar shower stalls with hot water powered by the sun. It is specifically built to overlook the main blueberry field and peach grove. Stunning views at sunset. An outhouse / composting toilet is currently under construction with the rain water collection system now complete. In the meantime a portable toilet is provided.  A potable water station is available and built from re-purposed materials and wood harvested locally. We are a working farm. We supply every Lucky's Market location with fresh turmeric and a host of stores with our blueberries. We also have an active u-pick program during the blueberry and peach harvests (late March to early June) that is available to Hip Campers. There are multiple springs within 30 miles in various directions - some of them of First Magnitude volume. Ichetucknee Springs offers excellent river rafting. Ginnie Springs offers world class underwater cave diving -PADI license required. Manatee Springs and Fanning Springs consistently offer up close sightings of Manatees without the crowds of Crystal River. There is also a boat launch on the Suwannee River just minutes from the farm for boating, skiing and fishing. Bob's River Place is minutes away.The Gulf of Mexico is just 40 miles away. Scalloping season begins June 15 this year and runs to September. Oyster season lasts all winter. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time camping here! It was very private and quiet. The views of the stars were amazing! This would be a perfect spot to watch a meteor shower. Tom gave us a tour of his property and let us feed some of his cute sheep and highland cows! Tom was a great host; he let us check out later because no one was camping behind us and was fun to talk to. We went to High Springs for dinner and coffee and that town is so cute! I was so impressed by the restaurant selection; I’m vegetarian and there were plenty of options for me. We especially enjoyed Colsie Coffee and Serendipity. The locals were extremely nice and we had great chats with many of them. We would definitely camp here again!

They’ve covered so many details: directions are clear, sites are clearly marked and spaced out/private, toilet/outhouse is comfortable, dishes can be washed, shower also available, firewood bundle waiting at the fire pit, and the gorgeous property was clean/spotless/no trash anywhere. Stayed 2 nights. Camping with tents. At the time of this review, there was a drought, so the river was extremely low. Property was very well kept, clean, and a great central location if you don’t want to be too far away from everything. Hopefully next time the rain has raised the river so we could do the full runs, up and down stream. The water was nice and cool, great for the warmer days we had in November. We will definitely be returning. Great site.

Brian’s property was a great spot for us! He greeted us and lead us to our spot and then we found out his wife Phyllis bakes muffins and cookies so we bought some muffins for breakfast. They were delicious! We had a problem with our RV not starting on the morning we were supposed to leave and Brian was extremely helpful in giving us assistance with finding a mechanic that could help us. Brian even towed our bus to the repair shop with his tractor! We were very grateful and would definitely recommend this property because of its safe location and the wonderful people who own it. Great Hipcamp experience!

3 star. The hookups were difficult to attach at the same time. The well water was brown and smelt weird. The bathroom had lizard poop everywhere. The animals looked like they needed some love. Yet, the view of the field was beautiful. Don’t expect much for the price.

This was our second time coming to Wildflower Pond and we had an absolutely wonderful time. We have been to many hip camps along the east coast, and this is by far the best one. The love, intentionality, and care put into this space is obvious and something to be cherished. If you want a relaxing time in nature, I highly recommend staying here.

This is a great place for children and rv camping. Lots of toys, cars, and trucks for the kids to play with. The St. Mary's river borders the property and is accessible for wading, swimming, and fishing. The property itself is very nice with some secluded spots if you want to do some primitive tent camping. There are port-o-let style toilets with a sink and access to potable water.

I highly recommend Big Oak Farm Dog and Horse Camping! It’s an idyllic little spot to stay with the family, with pets or solo. It’s easy to locate and very accessible near a state road. I booked last minute, (I’m talking about an hour beforehand). The host responded quickly and was very welcoming. Every time I reached out through the app, during my stay, the response was quick. The hosts were attentive, but definitely gave you your privacy. Although, their very clear directions and instructions were posted on the site, they took the time to greet me personally and helped me get set up with water and electricity, using their own hose and extension cord to save me the trouble of dragging out my own. There is a large fenced in area for the dogs to run around safely. My 3 had a great time and were fascinated by the pig and the emu in the adjoining field. It’s a beautiful sight to see horses in the field while having your morning coffee! I decided to book a second night after seeing the stars the first night. There is no noticeable light pollution and little to no traffic at night. I would recommend bringing a telescope, you won’t be disappointed. I would definitely stay again!

Great camping spot! If you follow The Crossroads on Facebook you can see what events are happening. There is plenty of space across the property. Rv spots are large and a few with full hookups. Several with just water and power and plenty for tent camping. The whole property is impressive with tons to do. Frank and everyone else out there are super welcoming. We will be back for sure. Personal entrance, and plenty of animals (even an emu!) to greet in a separate fenced off area, There's a hammock, Frisbee golf, and plenty of room to walk around. This is a great place to stay especially for families. Tip: For the best setup, be sure to bring an extension cable and long water hose.

It was very peaceful. Very nice little setup. Had a fire ring and picnic table and that’s all you need. Me dogs roamed around and quickly learned about the cactus. No harm done and there are warning signs, my dogs just can’t read. It’s a nice little retreat away. We will definitely be back.

It's about a 10 minute walk away up towards the main house. There you'll find a Peloton bike, peloton treadmill, peloton rower, yoga mats, TRX straps, a few free weights, AND Finnish sauna! And the nearby Publix, or pretty much any grocery store, will have vegan pizza, burgers, and nearly anything you'd crave. Again, the sanctuary lives up to it's name and is an incredibly special and peaceful place. Run down the tree covered road, do yoga under an oak tree, enjoy the sauna, take a Peloton class, read to the chickens (they love a good story), meditate with the pigs, and so much more. Peacefield is a retreat and a tranquil escape for animals and humans:) We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and the this space directly supports the animals and our mission. We live near one of the most beautiful roads for running and biking. Tree covered canopy for miles! Guest access Interacting with the animals. You can feed them and say hi from outside of their enclosures and pastures, but do not go in with them unless we are with you. Please always shut doors and gates behind you - they are sweet but escape artists :)

Our humble abode is a beautiful place to come get away from the hustle and bustle to a remote farm with beautiful scenery and awesome activities nearby for nature lovers, water sportsman, and or horse lovers. Our seven acre farm is currently housing some goats and piglets in its humble beginnings as we add to our farm family. We have full power and water hook up up to 50 amps. There is a dump station available 1.5 miles down the road at Pruitt trailhead, which also has beautiful hiking trails available. We are 15 minutes away from Blue Run Park, and Rainbow river campground and state park is 20 minutes away. Kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming are popular here bring your own equipment or rent. Withalacoochee river is also located nearby. N. Florida boat ramp is a public boat ramp located in downtown Dunnellon for fisherman wanting to fish the river. For Horse lovers the property is located 15 minutes from The World Equestrian Center along with many other horse lovers events and equestrian activities are located all around. Check events schedule and listings before traveling. Horse riding trail ride excursions can also be booked nearby. No need to back in as there is plenty of room to drive right in. Guests will have complete freedom to enjoy the beautiful property without having to share space with other RVs.
