Looking for your own private campsite convenient to the area's rivers, springs and trails? Evening temps are rising to 40s and 50s with daytime temps in the 60s to 70s. It's "smoke on the water" season as the local fresh spring and river water is warmer than the air -- always around 70F or 21C degrees year round! Moonlit Avenue is a great base location from which to enjoy many areas nearby for fresh water swimming, paddling, boating or fishing via public parks and private outfitters. Close to Rum Island Park, Ginnie Springs Recreation Park, and Gilchrist Blue Springs and Ichetucknee State Parks. * A private treelined driveway leads to the primitive campsite with bathhouse nearby where the deer (and sometimes turkeys) have a regular route along with other forest animals and insects; birds abound in the trees. Goats, chickens (including a rooster), shy feral cats and domesticated dogs nearby. * Private and serene primitive camping area in a forested riverfront neighborhood with a great public boat ramp on the Santa a short walk away. The campsite is located on the back acre with cleared areas for tents and vehicles. Picnic tables and fire rings are provided. Spring well water access via hose at the campsite or at bathhouse with shower, sink and toilet. * Birds especially love this area and the serenade from the treetops gets better each year with a wide variety of bird songs. Owls reside nearby and bats have also been known to fly in the sundowning sky! Make sure to bring a blanket for sitting around the campfire and stargazing if temps get into the 60s or below overnight. Great location for a base to enjoy nearby fresh water swimming, paddling, boating or fishing via public parks and private outfitters.  Close to Gilchrist Blue Springs and Ichetucknee State Parks, Rum Island Park, and Ginnie Springs Recreation Park. The closest park is Rum Island Park which has a $5 per car entrance fee.  Suggestion: Bring cash for vehicles that need park access.  Each park will have different prices and rules. Remember, we only accept one reservation at a time so get with your family and friends and book a date for the woods!

Sharon was so accommodating and her campsite had the perfect amount of amenities to unplug. We loved the outdoor bathhouse (water always at 72 degrees, even in freezing conditions!!) and laying under the stars. Wonderful campsite!

Comfortable and cozy, surrounded by nature and still close to all landmarks. We observed red cardinal and countless deer frolicking the area. 4 min walk to the river to check out with your morning coffee. A lot of timber to burn and clean air to breathe! Outdoors amenities are awesome too. Thank you Sharon!

Sharon and her campsite are exceptional! There is ample space for a group and secluded for two. We camped with her last year and since she’s added a bathhouse and a full working toilet! The shower is ran off spring water (no hot water) which is perfect after spending the day in the sun or at the springs! Springs are conveniently located, with there also being a boat/kayak launch two minutes down the road! Would recommend her spot to anyone and we will definitely be back.

I can’t say enough good thinks about Sharon - super responsive, helpful, points you to fun things to do; she was wonderful and made my stay that much more enjoyable. And of course a lovely spot, loads of room to spread out if you’re a group and quiet. The bathhouse/shower is definitely rustic but everything worked great!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Sharon is an amazing host for many reasons… Always responded quickly to my messages, gave great advice and options for places to explore, provided easy to follow directions, insured the campsite was clean, stocked and ready for us when we arrived and told us to message anytime if we needed anything. The site was spacious and exactly how it was described in the listing. We enjoyed sitting around the fire, star gazing, and listening to the owls at night and song birds during the day. Got to see some deer wander through the woods nearby and walked a short ways down the road to look at the farm animals in the neighbors front yard. All in all it was a great escape to enjoy nature and would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Forest bathing is good for you!
We had a great stay at this campsite over the weekend! The site itself was well-maintained and had the added bonus of a toilet and shower, which made things a lot more comfortable. One of the highlights was the easy access to the river — perfect for swimming during the hot afternoons. Evenings by the fire were peaceful and relaxing. One note for future campers: make sure your pets are up to date on flea and tick medication, as the area is pretty active with nature. Overall, a great spot for a weekend getaway!

Forest bathing is good for you!
The limbs need to be cut back right when you make the turn to the site and I had to stop and break or push back scrubs so not to scratch the van.

This is a great camping spot! Lots of room for multiple tents and vehicles, but tucked away in the woods and brush enough to feel rustic and quite private. Having a flushing toilet on site and fresh water really made everything a ton easier for us all! We focused on lodging and food and fun, and no one had to panic about where or how to go to the bathroom :). Sharon gave us great suggestions for walking to the river and stopping by a local food/market/music venue. Those stops really made the trip extra special! Thanks Sharon!

Amazing host. Was very helpful and we had a great time at the springs. There were two campfires and plenty of firewood to make s’mores. although it was a little hot because we went during the summer, I plan on going again during the winter.

Amazing site with great access points to the spring and sante fe river. Clean and tidy with so much room for activities. Great site for big groups or family camping moves. The host is an absolute joy of a human you wont go wrong renting this space!
