Thank you, Jessica! This experience was great. We had an easy time finding the spot thanks to Jessica's clear directions, and we had no issues during our stay. The land is beautiful, and we had a truly pleasant time.

Weekend Trip to Greener Pastures Camp

We recently spent a wonderful weekend despite the hot weather. We loved having the spot to ourselves. The campsite was well-maintained, with plenty of space for us to set up our tent and potty tent. The field at night lit up with lightning bugs was amazing! Jess was very communicative and very patient with our two young boys. They loved the chickens! We definitely will come back!

3 nights at Leyden’s Regeneration Sanctuary

Outstandingly quiet, easy marked directions, and hidden forest treasures abound! Book this place and revel in your own canopy of stars! The 2wd low rider mini van went through unharmed and the back in site is wide enough to accommodate an extended truck. The other sites were even bigger. The communal firepit is HUGE, plenty of room for cooking, you can burn an entire xmas tree in there! Prompt meet up once I pulled in and I absolutely would love to book this again. :)

1 night at Glamping with the Wild Horses

Our family of five (kids ages 5, 9, 12) had a great time. This is a family-run operation. Mac Kenzie and her husband and in-laws were superb hosts who went above and beyond to meet all of our needs--extra fans, hats with bug nets, frozen water bottles, you name it. We were there on a very hot summer day. The dome was hot and stuffy during the day but cooled down to reasonable sleeping temperature at night. The outhouse was clean and not one bit smelly. The campsite had some extras we were not expecting--bug spray, spatula and tongs for the BBQ, towels. The two double beds in the Comfy Contrasts dome are lofted one over the other. The three domes are very close together, so had there been other guests, we would effectively have all been camping together. The hike with horses was extremely worthwhile and gave us a much better understanding of the work Wild Ride does. They took us on a comfortable, easy walk to accommodate our kids, so don't be intimidated by the description of the hike as steep and strenuous. We did a little other hiking on the property, but there wasn't a whole lot to do. or see. I would definitely recommend this spot if you have activities planned nearby (and Mac Kenzie and co were full of recommendations) but would not suggest relying on the property itself to provide all your entertainment. 1 night at Two Herons Farm

Beautiful fully working farm with great people running it. Was fortunate enough to spend some time with the owners, get a tour of the barn, and helped feed the baby goats! Fantastic burger joint right down the road. Check in was a breeze and the weather was so nice one of us ended up camping outside. Great place and wonderful people. Will definitely return if ever in the area again.

We had the most amazing weekend with our 7 year old. The hosts were so warm and kind and we loved learning about how to train wild mustangs. We went on a hike with the mustangs and they all have such unique personalities. What a gift this place is for them. We also found it to be a gift! The domes were beautiful- comfortable beds and a small private space to change. The three of us were very comfortable in Serene dream but we will bring our other two children for the bunk beds next time! The bathroom (outhouse) was so nicely decorated you forget about the smell ;) The campfire was fantastic and there was wood ready for us. My husband and son played corn hole and we grilled for dinner. The grounds are fun to explore and all while seeing the beautiful mustangs roam! We will definitely be back.

It was exactly what we needed. Our dogs are a little reactive and this was secluded enough that they were able to relax and have a good time. It's pretty close to the road, but the road wasn't busy. It was very nice to be able to chill by the fireplace with the dogs and just be. Highly recommend!!

Justin & Amy are wonderful hosts! Their instructions were clear and they provided everything you could possibly need for cooking over a campfire. The tent was clean and set up for a great first glamping experience for our family. We are so grateful to have had a place to stay with our dogs free to roam off-leash and to be able to explore their beautiful property. Thank you for sharing your land with us!

2 nights at Leyden’s Regeneration Sanctuary

Victoria is a delightful person. I just happened to be there at the same time as she was hosting a large gathering of a couple dozen friends. I was invited to join right in. She is intentionally trying to create a mostly wild space where nature is free to thrive on its own. (With a few small areas for cultivated plants, spaces for Hipcampers, and other amenities.) It's important to know that because cars, vans, and short buses can be accommodated quite easily. Large RVs, trailers, and tall box trucks must be prepared to navigate a short but fairly rough dirt road with a lot of low hanging branches. I was able to get in and out in my 32ft class A without breaking anything but if your rig is large and if the exterior cosmetics are precious to you, this is not a good place for you. And that's a shame because the seclusion is divine.

This place is magical. Beautiful, impeccably clean and decorated - even the bathroom was incredibly quaint. McKenzie was welcoming and kind. I wish I could stay for a week. We'll definitely be back.

We loved camping at Fernwood 2! It was our first time camping in a long time and it was the perfect setting. Having our own bathroom was a nice touch. We thought it was shared. Loved the fire pit and shady area to setup our tent. The firefly's and stars at night were spectacular! Alan was very helpful you can tell the area is well kept and loved. Make sure to bring lots of bug spray. We didn't get to see all the trails, but we'll definetly be back. Thank you so much!!

Weekend Trip to 8 Acres Homestead

Great site! The hike in is steep as others have said, but only 1-2 minutes. (Might be rough if you have knee issues though.) The lake was beautiful for a sunset swim, and we mostly didn’t notice the car sounds from the roads. We would stay here again for sure.

This site is exactly as described and pictured! Both hosts - Mary and Viktor - were extremely kind and welcoming. Yes, there was another group camping in the paddock BUT there's enough space that there was still plenty of privacy (more than a public campground). There was plenty of firewood provided at a reasonable $10. Everything was clean. Would definitely camp here again!

We camped in our motorhome at KS Joy’s land for three nights. The yard is lovely. Surrounded by woods with singing birds and very private. The yard is very well maintained, and there is an outdoor shower and an outdoor privy. There’s 30 amp pole, which you may use and move about the yard at will. The location is extremely convenient to the Connecticut coast, including Mystic and the historic Seaport. The only possible negative is that the house is off a busy road, and there is some road noise. Overall, a wonderful place to stay..
