The meadow we occupy was once the farmers property that I grew up next to at my parents farm house.
When he wanted to sell his property he offered it to us for purchase at a fair price if we would not develop more than we needed to live here.
We maintained the meadow adjacent to our property and have kept it as an agricultural site.
We have had our son develop an edible forest garden and a unique diversified small orchard so we can eat and share healthy organic fruits and vegetables while helping our environment and wildlife and educating others to do the same.
It is expensive to live in Newtown but we love our property.
We want to teach others to grow food from their land while helping to support us keeping our adjacent property agricultural and undeveloped.
Our property has provided many happy gatherings and events and we love to share it with others.

This site is much more private than Mickelberry Forest Garden Site and the beautiful mountain view is only a small step away. One mile away we offer nearby blue mark trails, mountain biking, lake and outdoor activities are at your fingertips and your hosts will be happy to provide any assistance needed to find or enjoy these opportunities. The Creamery (Ferris Acres) is one of the best farm ice cream shops in the East. We can provide breakfast upon request from our free range chickens on our kiwi lined deck with beautiful mountain views. Come and enjoy the croak of the bullfrog and the sound of the crickets. A very spacious semi-wooded site that is in the shape of a triangle. The dimensions are approximately 100' by 100' by 50'. Perfect for the large group camp out or the family site. The Lean-to is approximately 10'x9', large enough for a small tent or keep the picnic table in there for bad weather.
Large or multiple tents no problem, put your tents in the wooded area where there is room for multiple tents. There is a fire pit area, picnic table, 4 outdoor chairs and corn hole that all are included with the site. A seasonal stream runs along the campsite giving you a nice bubbling brook sound. Plenty of privacy with screens around the site.
Within 15-20 minutes of our site is just about anything you could desire. Local restaurants, hiking, fishing, shopping, drive in movie and much much more. Rainy days no problem explore one of our nations pieces of history, Vanderbilt mansion, Theodore Roosevelt home, Montgomery Place Mansion, Poets walk, Ferncliff forest, or Art Omi.

A very spacious semi-wooded site that is in the shape of a triangle. The dimensions are approximately 100' by 100' by 50'. Perfect for the large group camp out or the family site. The Lean-to is approximately 10'x9', large enough for a small tent or keep the picnic table in there for bad weather.
Large or multiple tents no problem, put your tents in the wooded area where there is room for multiple tents. There is a fire pit area, picnic table, 4 outdoor chairs and corn hole that all are included with the site. A seasonal stream runs along the campsite giving you a nice bubbling brook sound. Plenty of privacy with screens around the site.
Within 15-20 minutes of our site is just about anything you could desire. Local restaurants, hiking, fishing, shopping, drive in movie and much much more. Our campsite lies on the beautiful two and a half century old LeFevre family farmstead with rich history and stunning views of the Shawangunk Mountain ridge. The property is on a 40-acre old apple orchard that is super private and filled with dramatic views and spectacular sunsets. Theres something really special about this place! The horses are amazing, the land and trails are beautiful and the people are nice and friendly! My old van made it easily up the hill and the parking was nice and flat and the power hookup very good! My dogs also had a great time! The WiFi worked very well on the iPad but the phones struggled a bit. But really I have to dedicate some words to the horses: oh my, what beautiful animals they are! And they are all rescue! Mama and Lacey stole my heart!

My son and I really enjoyed camping on Mike's property. It was tucked away and quiet. Mike was very supportive and kept the firewood coming for the cold temperatures. The entrance comes up quickly, but Mike's directions were spot on.

Phoenix Landing is the optimal camping spot for my partner and I (and cat). Though it was just the two of us, we had no issues with the camp site and felt very safe in the area. We decided to camp out there while enjoying Halloween festivities along the Hudson. The forest/stream, on the property is beautiful and there are many trails to explore. We brought our cat who loves walking outdoors on a harness & leash - we stayed very vigilant with her, but thankfully the most we encountered was a buck during our trip (1st week of Nov.).
Mike's directions are very thorough and clear - DEFINITELY read his instructions for finding the property at first. He also provides a lot of supplies if needed, especially firewood for a small cost. Communication with him was also very pleasant and easy. We enjoyed our stay so much that we extended it by 1 more day 😊. Overall, we look forward to staying at Phoenix Landing again in the near future.
NOTE: Needing a 4x4/ AWD vehicle is absolutely necessary to climb the property if choosing not to walk. We arrived in absolute pouring rain and thankfully our Land Cruiser had no issue. The climb / descent is definitely very fun, but if you have no experience with off-roading, it may be a bit difficult. Take it slow. Cheers!

A great lil spot/getaway from the city to reconnect with nature! My pup Pigeon and I were warmly welcomed by both Robin and Shirley and felt safe as can be. After scouring the town for a camping chair (practically heckled out of Home Depot since it’s “off season”..lol) Shirley was kind enough to lend us one that had me cozied up to the fire in no time! Felt at ease throughout the night, albeit some road noise, overall very much enjoyed our little romp. Would recommend!
