The meadow we occupy was once the farmers property that I grew up next to at my parents farm house.
When he wanted to sell his property he offered it to us for purchase at a fair price if we would not develop more than we needed to live here.
We maintained the meadow adjacent to our property and have kept it as an agricultural site.
We have had our son develop an edible forest garden and a unique diversified small orchard so we can eat and share healthy organic fruits and vegetables while helping our environment and wildlife and educating others to do the same.
It is expensive to live in Newtown but we love our property.
We want to teach others to grow food from their land while helping to support us keeping our adjacent property agricultural and undeveloped.
Our property has provided many happy gatherings and events and we love to share it with others.

You can enjoy exploring, and examining our 7 year permacultuire food forest with chestnut seedlings already tall enough to climb , 10-foot hazels bearing buckets of nuts and a different selection of raspberries, blackberries, gooseberry, currents, golden berries, service berries and Mulberries. Enjoy a stroll through the meadow trail to breath in morning views and evening fireflies and stars. This camp area is very private but household amenities are not far away if desired. This site is much more private than Mickelberry Forest Garden Site and the beautiful mountain view is only a small step away. One mile away we offer nearby blue mark trails, mountain biking, lake and outdoor activities are at your fingertips and your hosts will be happy to provide any assistance needed to find or enjoy these opportunities. The Creamery (Ferris Acres) is one of the best farm ice cream shops in the East. We can provide breakfast upon request from our free range chickens on our kiwi lined deck with beautiful mountain views. Come and enjoy the croak of the bullfrog and the sound of the crickets. Our *NEW* cabin is located on the top of a clearing in the mountains outside Wassaic. Enjoy swimming, hiking, chilling, fires and sunsets views without any light pollution or street noise. Designed as a retreat for the modern creative, the cabin is fully off-grid but features Starlink Internet, a compost toilet and heat / AC. We do provide 5 gallons drinking / cleaning water, but during the winter no sinks or showers are operable.
Nearby towns (Kent, CT / Wassaic, NY) have awesome art, shopping and plenty of food options as well as easy access to the Appalachian trail and Macedonia state park.
15 minutes from the Wassaic metro north station, the cabin can be reach by taxi. The cabin is accessible by car, but may require a short hike in after heavy rain or snow.

The preserve land can be hiked, though there are not always paths. Macedonia and Kent Falls state parks are nearby by car, as well as an entrance to the Appalachian Trail just five minutes down the road.
We are just six minutes away from the Tenmile River Metro North station and can pick you up with advance coordination.
The town of Kent, Connecticut is a 7-minute drive and has lots of shops, dining, and an art gallery. I’ve had the joy of meeting people from all walks of life travelers passing through, families on vacation, solo adventurers chasing peace, and seasoned RVers with tales from the road. Robin is a very responsive host and very understanding :) We booked very last minute and she was so gracious to us! The site is clean and comfortable. A fireplace is convenient. There is a picnic table. We were camping on a very cold night in the winter and hope to return in the spring!

This is my second visit to Wright farm and already looking forward to the next. We had a good, albeit cold and snowy stay mid-Jan which was totally worth it for us. Beautiful snowy night but BOOKER BE ADVISED, you must be VERY prepared from an equipment, camping knowledge/awareness, and vehicle standpoint if attempting to stay during a snowy period. You will need several bundles of firewood (5+) to last through the evening which luckily the farm has at its market at entrance. Only the Stonehenge sites appear to be accessible in the snow and you'll need 4x4 with proper winter tires at minimum to access. AWD with all-season tires likely won't cut it. That said, our RAV-4 2WD made it just fine in the fall but we did have to park at the farmstore and carry our gear to the site this time around. These challenges aside, the farm is amazing. All sites sit on hills which offer remote vibes with amazing views at all times of the day. The staff is very nice but are generally hands off. These are campsites and not ABNBs/hotels afterall. Just something to keep in mind. Overall, another great stay.

Theres something really special about this place! The horses are amazing, the land and trails are beautiful and the people are nice and friendly! My old van made it easily up the hill and the parking was nice and flat and the power hookup very good! My dogs also had a great time! The WiFi worked very well on the iPad but the phones struggled a bit. But really I have to dedicate some words to the horses: oh my, what beautiful animals they are! And they are all rescue! Mama and Lacey stole my heart!

My son and I really enjoyed camping on Mike's property. It was tucked away and quiet. Mike was very supportive and kept the firewood coming for the cold temperatures. The entrance comes up quickly, but Mike's directions were spot on.
The hiking near the property was fantastic. Try Anthony's Nose; the hike was challenging, but the views were worth it.

This tucked away property is just minutes from route 6, quiet, and just the right amount of wild. We loved it so much that we stayed an extra night to soak it all in.

This place was so great that when I sent photos to my wife she told me to get three more nights, called out sick from work on Friday and hopped on a bus to meet me. Hiking path. Clean. Nicely mowed. You can barely see your neighbor over the meadow. In my wife's book it gets extra credit for being down the street from a historic church - we walked there on Sunday for services.
