Stroll on over to the South or Middle for renowned fly fishing. For climbers, there are over 50 climbs in South Saint Vrain Canyon! Dark Skies: If you like to watch the stars and meteor showers, Bliss Canyon is blessed with dark skies with little light from the plains. Bring your telescopes and explore the Universe. Rocky Mountain National Park, one of the five Crown Jewels of the National Park Service, is nearby. The closest trailhead in RMNP is 10 miles, the next trailhead at Wild Basin entrance to the park is 13 miles, and the Beaver Meadows entrance (main entrance) is 36 miles. Rocky Mountain National Park has breathtaking drives, easy strolls with interpretive signs, and 360 miles of trails. (Advance reservation required for entry 9:00 am to 3:00 pm for main park, or 5:00 am to 6:00 pm for Bear Lake corridor.) Indian Peaks Wilderness also has several nearby access points and trailheads. Ask Dot for details. The charming town of Lyons is 20 minutes away with coffee shops, restaurants, bars, lots of great live music, and quaint shops. Also, Spirit Hound Distillery received the award for the #1, Best Whiskey in the World in 2022, hmmm, it might be worth a tasting! Due to our popularity reservations often fill up quickly. We suggest you make your reservations in advance especially if you have a group to rent the entire camp. At times there are last minute cancelations which allows for last minute openings. This property has been in my family since 1900. It is still a working farm/ranch but we are looking to let a select few others enjoy our property. My grandfather built the lake with a d9 cat bulldozer in the 50's and we are just completing a sediment clean out and refurbishment of the lake. All of the trees were planted by my great grandfather and they afford lots of wildlife cover; wild turkeys, raccoons, skunks, squirrels, etc. The area we selected for camping is in a bowl so you have good privacy. The lake is stocked for fishing and because its private, no license is needed. The fishing hole and swimming hole are separate from the main lake and offer cheaper accommodations. We limit ourselves to 2 campsites to the 100 acres, so there is plenty of privacy. There is some road noise and smell from the local dairy that is about 1/2 mile away if the wind is right. Simple private camp spot - there is a swimming/fishing hole with dock and ladder. There is a year round creek and some small islands that can be explored. Fire pit, portapotty and propane grill are available. Potable water and sewage dump is available at main residence but not at camp site. This is designed to be a family friendly area that's great for younger kids. Area is also a pasture so cows and cow patties could be encountered and wild deer and turkey are around. If you have a larger family than 4 remember hipcamps policy is that younger children do not count towards the limit.

There are easy trails on property along the lush stream (the original riverbed of the Middle Saint Vrain Stream), fishing or swimming in the pond (no lifeguard on duty), or challenging trails into Roosevelt National Forest from the property. (Ask Hiker Dot for guidance.) Several National Forest access points, where you can enjoy peaceful walks away from crowds, are a short drive. New this year Bliss Camp is adding a 12' x 14' Glamping Tent Cabin. Bliss Canyon is a spur off of breathtaking, picturesque South Saint Vrain Canyon. Stroll on over to the South or Middle for renowned fly fishing. For climbers, there are over 50 climbs in South Saint Vrain Canyon! Dark Skies: If you like to watch the stars and meteor showers, Bliss Canyon is blessed with dark skies with little light from the plains. Bring your telescopes and explore the Universe. Rocky Mountain National Park, one of the five Crown Jewels of the National Park Service, is nearby. The closest trailhead in RMNP is 10 miles, the next trailhead at Wild Basin entrance to the park is 13 miles, and the Beaver Meadows entrance (main entrance) is 36 miles. Rocky Mountain National Park has breathtaking drives, easy strolls with interpretive signs, and 360 miles of trails. (Advance reservation required for entry 9:00 am to 3:00 pm for main park, or 5:00 am to 6:00 pm for Bear Lake corridor.) Indian Peaks Wilderness also has several nearby access points and trailheads. Ask Dot for details. The charming town of Lyons is 20 minutes away with coffee shops, restaurants, bars, lots of great live music, and quaint shops. Also, Spirit Hound Distillery received the award for the #1, Best Whiskey in the World in 2022, hmmm, it might be worth a tasting! Due to our popularity reservations often fill up quickly. We suggest you make your reservations in advance especially if you have a group to rent the entire camp. At times there are last minute cancelations which allows for last minute openings. This property has been in my family since 1900. It is still a working farm/ranch but we are looking to let a select few others enjoy our property. My grandfather built the lake with a d9 cat bulldozer in the 50's and we are just completing a sediment clean out and refurbishment of the lake. All of the trees were planted by my great grandfather and they afford lots of wildlife cover; wild turkeys, raccoons, skunks, squirrels, etc. The area we selected for camping is in a bowl so you have good privacy. The lake is stocked for fishing and because its private, no license is needed. The fishing hole and swimming hole are separate from the main lake and offer cheaper accommodations. We limit ourselves to 2 campsites to the 100 acres, so there is plenty of privacy. There is some road noise and smell from the local dairy that is about 1/2 mile away if the wind is right. Simple private camp spot - there is a swimming/fishing hole with dock and ladder. There is a year round creek and some small islands that can be explored. Fire pit, portapotty and propane grill are available. Potable water and sewage dump is available at main residence but not at camp site. This is designed to be a family friendly area that's great for younger kids. Area is also a pasture so cows and cow patties could be encountered and wild deer and turkey are around. If you have a larger family than 4 remember hipcamps policy is that younger children do not count towards the limit.

Nestled in a sweet road just outside of town, we still got all the mountain vibes with the convenience of getting quickly to town. Amelia was responsive and friendly. We met her at her tea shop in town and she was personable and helpful. Would stay again next time we are in the area. And the cute wild turkeys roaming the property were bonus!

My family and I really enjoyed camping at Dot and Byron's boondocking site. I have a 24 ft. travel trailer which fit nicely in their spot. The area is beautiful to say the least. Dot and Byron were very hospitable and very helpful in many ways to include providing information on the area and helping me get my camper in place. It was quiet and peaceful even with other guests on site. Initially, the proximity of the workshop and permanent trailer was slightly off putting but with all the goodness that feeling faded fast. We had a great time and I felt relaxed there.

They have everything! A peaceful setting in a space shared with two other trailers (vintage, that they rent to glampers) nice outdoor green spaces to enjoy with picnic tables, hammocks and outdoor cooking area. Then they also have indoor space: two flush toilets, shower, dinning table and chairs, microwave and large screen TV. Two nice silly dogs in residence and two very nice, thoughtful, kind and welcoming hosts in Greg and Olivia. We stayed twice this summer and will surely be back when we return to the area. Only negatives: no sewer hookup for our camper (not a huge deal with flush toilet and sinks mere steps away in the flex room described above) Also the space was a challenge for me to pull out of due to tight turns around some fencing. Since I was nervous about taking out these lovely host’s fence with our 21 ft. Travel trailer, Greg very kindly backed out for us to save me the stress. While the location is excellent and the property lovely and well cared for, it is sometimes a little loud as it is across the street from Niwot high school football and sports fields. Some mornings and Friday nights the practices and games were quite easily heard from their tranquil backyard space. But that was a small trade off for a place that was very peaceful most of the rest of the time.

Dot and Byron’s place was fantastic! We were in town for the Elk rut, RMNP, and Estes park. It was the perfect distance for privacy, but not too far away from Estes. They were great host and directions were perfect! We will definitely be staying again!

Well run commercial campground between Loveland & RMNP. Ours & most sites by us had just 50A & 20A electric. We were promised a 30A site so they lent us a converter (great staff esp maintenance guy). Water was great but pressure varied, next time we'll use their water to fill our tank then use our pump for consistent pressure. Sites were a little small but our 30' trailer fit easily. Some sites had big class A's & 5th wheels w/6 slide outs. Staff spread out campers so our neighboring sites were vacant half the week we were there. Beautiful perimeter trail along the river & nice dog park. Very quiet & friendly place, ~20 minutes to a Safeway in Loveland but still has that out-in-the-woods feel. 45 minutes to Estes Park & a bit under an hour to Rocky Mountain National Park. Lots of cabins & RV parks in this area but this one is back in the woods so no noise from US34.

Loved the location, nestled in a valley with the gorgeous stream flowing by. Great location to park our travel trailer and enjoy the weekend. Super clean port-a-potty and amazing views. Loved hiking to the balanced rock and enjoyed the peaceful scenery! Picnic table was perfect for meals and the stream-side chairs were amazing for coffee and a book. Dot and Byron were fabulous hosts and met us on the road to help guide us into the spot. Will definitely return!

What a great experience. After this stay, I would count Byron and Dot as friends and not just hosts. We had an issue with our camper and they directed us to West Main Auto where Eric took great care of us. The property is beautiful and pic don't do it justice, but Byron and Dot made the stay a favorite! Highly recommend this stay. We definitely acquired new friends here!
