I bought this land to move from Houston Learn more about this land: In by 2PM, out be 1:30OM. I widened the gate and moved my mailbox for easier access. Butane fire rings allowed on private property during a fire ban . Camp anywhere on 60 acres. In one direction there are rolling meadow. Another rocky outcropping. Look to the south and you’ll see the BLM land that shares my fence line. If you want access to town you’re there. You choose how you want to feel. In the woods, in the forest, on huge rocks, flat land or turn around and see CR 1 ( 1/4 mile driveway). Forty five minutes west of Colorado Springs, ten miles to Divide for grocers. One half mile to ice, gas, pizza etc.  It is first come first serve with the sites.  Two that are near trees for large RVs.  One up higher works for pull thru trailers.  Plenty of room in the pasture.  I just got my first negative review referring to it being dry prairie land.  Some  pictures are from late last summer..  We haven’t had enough rain yet for it to green up.  Also it can be windy.

The property is partially wooded, and there is a spectacular view from the top of a prominent hill on the property which is some of the highest ground for miles in all directions. Upon completion of the City of Aurora's Wild Horse Reservoir in the 2030's, this will be a "waterfront" property. On site picnic tables (the tan colored bench can fold into a table) and a porta-potty are provided. Great hiking opportunities may be found right on the property, and numerous nearby seldom used dirt roads provide exceptional mountain biking opportunities. Directions from the town of Hartsel: Proceed 2 miles South on State Hwy 9. Turn right (South) on CR 53. Stay right at the fork at 1.3 miles. At 3.9 miles, turn left (East) onto lightly used Shawnee Trail (Note: On occasion due to County grading on CR 53, there will be a small mound to drive over as you enter this left turn). Weekend Trip to A-Lodge Salida

We had a great experience staying at the A Lodge tent site. The spot felt peaceful, secluded, and safe, especially with a few permanent camper trailers on the property. The location is fantastic, only about 15 minutes from Salida Colorado, making it super convenient for exploring local activities. The amenities building (bathrooms, hot showers, and laundry) was a bit of a walk from our spot, especially on snowy nights or rainy days, so we ended up driving there most of the time. The bathrooms were basic but impressively clean, and the hot showers were a huge plus after a long day out. The host was super nice, he answered the phone immediately when we needed help and was extremely helpful and attentive. Overall, a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We’d definitely consider coming back!

Beautiful property with excellent views! Steve was great at communicating expectations, directions and provided clear information. Outhouse was clean and well stocked. Fire pit with option of wood or propane was really neat, so much so that my husband now wants one in our backyard. We experienced a bit of wind and Steve was helpful and understanding. We recommend leaving the property the same way you enter. We turned on a road thinking it would lead us to the highway (google maps said it was the quickest way to Cottonwood Hot Springs) but it led us astray. Overall happy campers.

Had the BEST time tent camping here over the weekend! The staff onsite was friendly and helpful. The sites and bathrooms were clean and well managed. I was shocked to see there was laundry on site as well which was so nice to have after coming back from the hot springs. Definitely recommend 10/10 will stay again.

We were extremely thrilled to revisit Will and Jake and their campsite. As always the campsite was clean, inviting, and well maintained. Jake cooked for us again and the gourmet burgers did not disappoint. As the last campers of the season, we were pleased to relax in a pine tree haven. Good distance to/from Salida, while also feeling “off the grid”. Great views of the surrounding peaks. Suggest bringing warm layers for the cooler evenings and a warm comforter. Our dog prefers sleeping in his crate and the tent is big enough to setup in the corner. Recommend checking it out. Thank you!

I took my grandson’s on their first camping trip this weekend. It’s an easy drive about 40 minutes from I25. Beautiful location with views of the mountains. We had fun exploring the rocky canyon a 1/4 mile from our site. Very quiet and beautiful location, highly recommended!
