Bear Trap Ranch – Wall Tent on 20 Acres with Mountain Views Stay in a 14x15 wall tent on a rustic deck with a small propane heater (bring 1lb bottles). Four camp cots included. Nestled on 20 private acres with mountain views in nearly every direction—true peace and quiet for an off-grid escape. What to Know: * Off-grid: no hookups, no water source, no trash service (pack out all garbage & waste). * Access: Recommend raised RVs only, max 23 ft. Unpaved roads require slow, careful driving. * Wildlife: Be bear aware—store food securely and bring bear spray. Coyotes heard occasionally. Pets must be supervised. * Fires: Check Teller County website for fire bans [https://tellercounty.gov/]. Gas fire pits and grills are always okay with care. Nearby Adventures: Fishing and climbing at Eleven Mile State Park, swimming at Guffey Gorge/Paradise Cove, hiking at Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument, plus Cripple Creek, Guffey, and Canon City relatively nearby. Travel: 1.5 hr from Colorado Springs via scenic drive through Woodland Park, Divide, and Florissant. Cell Service: Verizon intermittent at mid to bottom of driveway. AT&T generally stronger in the area.Bring your family, enjoy mountain views, and relax in nature! Fires and Cooking * Propane fire pits and grills are always allowed (BYO). * Wood fire pit available only if no Teller County fire ban (check the county’s website for updates). * Wood may be gathered onsite, but it isn’t pre-cut or seasoned. BYO Axe. * Please keep flames away from the tent platform, chairs, and picnic tables. * A Coleman 2-burner camp stove and a few supplies (sunscreen, bug spray, garbage bags, expired bear spray, first aid supplies, twin air mattress with electric pump, and three roasting skewers) are stored in a bin inside the tent - feel free to use anything you may need/may have forgotten. * Instructions for the propane heater are also in the bin. * Please return all supplies to the bin in good condition and reasonably clean for future guests. Rules and Wildlife * Quiet hours: **11 pm – 6 am** * Pets welcome, but keep them close — bears, coyotes, and mountain lions live in the area. * **Never leave food, wrappers, or trash out** (bears return where they’ve found food before). * Pack out all trash, including bathroom waste — **Leave No Trace**. * Do not feed deer or wildlife. * Bring bear spray if hiking; wildlife encounters are rare but possible. Such a nice site with so many things provided - helped our out-of-towners pack more efficiently! We loved the views, the peace and quiet, and the nice areas like the tent and deck. We will definitely be back!

We've stayed at Jolene's place a couple times now and absolutely love it. Beautiful space with lots of privacy and the new wall tent was a great space to hang out in during the rain.

This place is so beautiful and secluded. We went early september and it was a bit cold but there was a heater that warmed the tent. Super resourceful spot! Favorite spot to camp!

We absolutely love this Hipcamp. We are grateful to have stayed at this Hipcamp a few times and you can see the owner’s pride in their land as they continue to improve the property. The land is gorgeous, it is easy to get to in your vehicle, and it is quiet. While we did not plan to use the tent on property, we did notice that it was locked with cables to the floor, so we assumed that was not for our use. We did take advantage of setting up our camp chairs on the lower open platform. Beautiful view!

We had an amazing stay here! The campsite was beautiful, peaceful, and quiet — perfect for a relaxing weekend. Our kids loved climbing and playing on the rocks, and the tire swing was a big hit. The hosts left thoughtful touches like fire pit pokers, which made things easier. The space is huge — perfect for just our family of four (plus our dogs), but it could easily accommodate a much larger group. I’d absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a great camping spot.

Simply put, this is one of the quietest camping locations I’ve ever accessed by vehicle. If wind thru the pines is all you want to hear, check this out! Great directions by Jolene too!

This seems like a great location for tent campers, solo vehicles, or smaller trailer setups. The drive in is scenic and easy enough to find with the host’s clear directions. The host was very responsive, kind, and easy to communicate with — definitely a highlight of the experience. The campsite itself has limited open views, though if you're up for a short climb on the nearby rocks, you’ll be rewarded with some really nice mountain scenery. From the actual site, however, the main visible feature is a house on the neighboring hill. There’s just one relatively level area to park — right at the crest of the hill in the main site area — and while we managed with a full-size lifted truck and 27' camper, it wasn’t easy. Low branches at the entrance, along with piles of trimmed limbs and a soft/sandy incline up the entrance driveway, made maneuvering and traction a bit of a challenge. One thing that caught us off guard was a group of unfamiliar men walking near the campsite later in the evening. They got close enough that we could hear them talking about our camper. It wasn’t necessarily threatening, but it did feel intrusive and took away from the sense of privacy and solitude we were hoping for. Hopefully just an isolated incident. That said, the area is incredibly quiet, and considerately supplied for off-grid camping, and when things settled down, it made for a peaceful and relaxing time in a beautiful part of Colorado.

We loved the site because of the views and the terrain. We brought our 24' trailer and there was plenty of room to find comfortable parking spot. Our friends slept in tent who loved the shade . Overall the site is very private as it felt we had the hill all to ourselves. At night the stars were disturbed by light pollution due the sites's remoteness. The host was very gracious and hospitable. Jolene was super helpful both in terms of answering our questions and making recommendations of things to do in the area. Thanks for allowing us to spend a few nights on your beautiful property!

The property is exactly as represented in the pictures/description and it’s very nice. It’s a good mix of open spaces between rock outcroppings and has a couple of larger open clearings without trees that could allow for frisbee or catch. Several areas have significant views. Much of be property has substantial rock formations that allow for scrambling and exploring. Fun all around! It was nice having some amenities included like the wooden chairs and fire pit with ember screen. Picnic tables came in handy. Beautiful drive in from Colorado Springs. Recommend and would return. Thank you!

Perfect spot! Even with a weekend of rain & clouds, this was a peaceful spot just perfect for an easy weekend away from Denver. Easy to access with the directions & enjoyed the amenities (chairs, fire ring & picnic tables). Would love to camp here again!

We thoroughly enjoyed Jolene's property. It is very secluded, quiet and beautiful, just what we were looking for. There are plenty of options for where to put your tent or RV. We have a 5x9 Hiker Trailer (17 foot end to end). We loved all the trees, the 2 picnic tables and the metal fire pit. Our dog loves roaming around. The views and sunset were gorgeous. We enjoyed all the stars, although we had an almost full moon, which gave us plenty of ambient light. There is plenty of fallen trees and slash piles on the property, although other than kindling, if you want logs, come prepared to cut your own wood. There is an old saw available but we did not find it easy to use and we're glad we had brought our own wood. Jolene is very responsive and friendly and helped answer any questions we had. We enjoyed all the birds that had beautiful songs to sing. At night, we heard frogs nearby, although we have no idea where they came from. We would love to return and highly recommend this property. It's a hidden gem.

Awesome place; it's our second time out. The walking trail was worked on since the last time; great views, privacy, above ground fire pit, 2 tables, 4 chairs, perfect spot to pop up for amazing stars, nature, and peace.

We absolutely loved Jolene's property. The site is secluded and among the trees. We stayed for 2 nights and didn't see any people (or hear any generators :)) Perhaps I didn't read the listing well enough but the tire swing and hammock were a surprise and got lots of use during our stay. If you're looking for a secluded and peaceful campsite, you will love this site!

We had a wonderful time staying on Jolene's property! The campsite was secluded with fantastic views of the surrounding countryside. Our daughter enjoyed playing on the tire swing and climbing on the rocks near camp. We will certainly be back!

Another great camping trip on this property! My boys and I had an awesome time, great hiking with beautiful views and lots to do nearby. We went to the Florissant Fossil beds visitor center and even went to a place where you can find your own fossils. It is less than 30 minutes away. This is a great place to camp if you like camping in a quite place with no others campers around. There is plenty of space to park if you have multiple vehicles or RVs.

We loved the seclusion of this camp site. The land and views are beautiful! We saw so many varieties of birds- especially enjoyed all the hummingbirds. The only thing disappointing was not being able to have a fire when there were no county restrictions. But, the owner was very clear about it ahead of time and knowing that allowed us to plan other methods for cooking. Take care when visiting this property because it is special. We had so much fun here and hope to return soon!

This was our second time camping here. This is a great spot if you like quiet, private camping sites. Only one group can camp here at a time, so you won’t see or hear anyone else camping here. It has plenty of room for a tent and cars or an RV. There are multiple places where you can put a tent, the place I put mine I am able to park the car right next to the tent, if I want, which makes loading and unloading easy. This also makes it easy to keep food, trash, and anything else that produces odors locked up in the car without the need to carry it any distance for meal time. You are surrounded by 20 acres of trees and rocks to walk and hike around. The host was super helpful and accommodating. I highly recommend this campsite.
