Located right off coastal US highway 1, Timber Cove campground sits right at the edge of breathtaking, oceanside cliffs. We are situated on roughly two acres of land, with multiple campsites for tent/car camping or RV’s. Each bluff campsite has a picnic table, fire pit and water. Electricity is available to use for an extra fee. The beach and waterfall campsites do not have picnic tables so you might want to bring one if you’ve booked there. We have separate men’s and women’s flush bathrooms, with coin-operated hot showers. We have firewood with kindling for sale on site, payable with cash or Venmo. Please take note of local fire bans, when in effect. Dog friendly, though be advised a leash is recommended as we are close to the road, but they can run leash-free down at the beach. We are located 30 minutes north of the town of Jenner, with Gualala 30 minutes to the north. Gualala has grocery stores, a post office, and some shops. Fort Ross Store is located one mile down the road, just before Timber Cove, and sells basic food necessities, drinks, sandwiches, ice and gas. Internet cell service can be spotty in our area, depending on your provider, so bring your own Starlink services if you have them. We also have access to the beach below, and offer beach camping as well. Take note that the road down to the beach is steep with uneven terrain. The weather can vary quickly here, so be sure to bring multiple layers of clothing and camp gear for various types of weather, and headlamps are useful for getting around the property at night! We hope you’ll come visit our little slice of heaven on the ocean cliffs, gaze at the stars, marvel at the sunsets, watch the harbor seals dozing on their rocks and the many bird species that inhabit our property. At no additional cost, we can add up to two twin beds to each tent upon request to sleep up to 6 people. 8 people max allowed at the campsite. The glamping sites include a picnic table, fire ring, outdoor seating, and room for additional tents if desired. All sites are easy walking distance to flush toilets and a bathhouse, with large, clean, coin operated hot shower rooms. There is no cell service in the park, but free WiFi is available at the Visitor Center. PLEASE NOTE that Bedding (sheets, pillows, blankets) IS NOT included in a standard rental, but is available as an add-on. Guests are encouraged to bring their own bedding whenever possible. If no bedding is added, we will assume a one-queen setup with mattress covers only. We kindly ask guests to provide at least 48-hour notice if bedding will be required. Great place for a beginners backpacking trip. We stayed at campsite #6. It was very secluded and quiet. You can walk from the coast camp sites on a short trail to the beach. Huge Beach with beautiful sand and not too many people around.

Weekend Trip to Sugarloaf Ridge State Park Glamping

We loved our glamping experience at Sugarloaf SP! The tent was spacious and cozy with comfortable beds and plenty of places to sit and hang out. We rented the heater which was much appreciated when the temp dropped and some rained moved in. We appreciated our first bundle of firewood. All of the staff was very friendly and quick to help out if we needed something. They also keep the bathrooms super clean and well stocked and a short walk from any site. The center of the campground being a beautiful meadow with lots of wildlife at night and clear skies show a perfect view of the starry night. We would definitely stay again.

2 nights at Swallowtail Historic Art Studio

Bill’s land was one of the best hip camps I have ever stayed at! The Indonesian bedroom was so serene and I slept like a baby with the heated bed. The bathroom was so beautifully decorated with ornate paintings, little treasures, and the stained glass window was intricately stunning. The hot tub was a bonus and it was extremely close to the town of Petaluma and hiking trails. You definitely should stay here for a romantic getaway!

This is an incredibly special place. The land itself is spectacular, with some of the most stunning views I’ve seen. Campsites are spread out and each very sweet. We bought out the whole place for a big group of families. Kids ranging from 2-10, and they couldn’t have been happier. And the amenities are the best! Chris has done such a nice job with the sauna house and outdoor shower and kitchen. Perfect gathering places. The coyotes, birds, and wild horses were wildlife highlights for us all. Stargazing is awesome as it’s far from most light pollution. Note that the road is rough and took us 35 mins in a truck, but our two kids who get carsick a lot were fine with a little Dramamine.

Weekend Trip to Sugarloaf Ridge State Park Glamping

I loved our glamping spot. The free complimentary firewood on the first night and free complimentary extra mattresses were nice for my family and I. the mountain views 360 all around were so pretty! It was also very shaded. We saw many deer, quail, and squirrel by our tent was a treat for my children. The restrooms were not horrible. There is also an observatory nearby so we got to view the stars at night. It was a pleasant trip. The glamp itself was nice and furnished, perfect for my family who usually have a very hard time camping in nature.

Tyler helped prepped everything we asked for before we arrived and stayed in communication throughout the stay to help with our requests. This was such a wonderful 2 days. The waterfall site is definitely the best, and shielded from the wind. Sites are very small but sufficient. Waterfall site is separated from the others which is an extra plus. Brenda was so nice and accommodating. We went on Thursday and was not crowded. Felt like a private beach. Not much noise from the highway at all. Definitely busier come Friday. There are people with day passes to launch boats, but they’re generally respectful and friendly. Only negative was 5am Saturday several vehicles came down to the beach (assume with day passes to launch boats). Would be nice if quiet time extended until at least 7am as they were quite disruptive. Still, did not impact our overall stay.

2 nights at A California Dream: Camp Hoppy

Camp hoppy was is an amazing, beautiful spot tucked away in the redwood forest. We had an amazing time enjoying the fire under the trees, listening to the creek, watching the moon rise, and spotting some really interesting wildlife. It’s the perfect balance of being immersed in nature while still having the comforts you need: an open-air space for cooking, hot water, and a nice, clean bathroom. Having the entire property and creek to ourselves made it feel like a peaceful little retreat. It truly has everything you need for a perfect nature getaway. I’d love to come back in the future. This is a lovely Hipcamp spot!

Our time at Waterfall was lovely. It is great to be on the beach. There is a lot of action during the day as fisherman and day visitors are plentiful. Brenda was welcoming. It is rather bare bones camping...which I love...site says no portable water yet Brenda let me know the water is filtered and fine to drink. A plus!!! We would have appreciated it if we understood how steep the road was down to the site. That said, we had not issues negotiating. For those looking for a more rigid and sweet experience this is the place.!

Great scenery from virtually every site, with shade, spacious level sites and parking, very clean and nice-smelling bathrooms and showers, easily accessible trails, lots of wildlife (deer, turkey, birds), and all in all a great first glamping experience for me! It will be hard to go back to a regular tent site again…JK. Friendly staff, and a bit ununusal ans a state park being operated as a collaborative of Sonoma Ecology Center and Team Sugarloaf. Great base for exploring by bicycle — we drove our bikes down to Kenwood and enjoyed riding around the area, all the way to Sonoma. Vineyards, small towns, both gentle and challenging bike route options. Or just relax and hike around the park trails. Thank you for a great getaway!

What a magical spot! We loved exploring the property, spending time in the sauna/bathhouse, and sitting around the fireplace at night. The kitchen was fully stocked for a group of 16 to cook all of our weekend meals, and we loved sharing meals together. The hosts were very responsive and the property was easy enough to find (in the daytime at least!) We will need to return when the river is running!

The staff was amazing and super welcoming. Originally booked for a tent site, but due to weather conditions, decided we wanted a cabin instead. The staff thankfully accommodate us and upgraded our stay. It rained on and off during the entirety of our stay. But regardless, we were satisfied with all the activities and space that Mandala Springs provided to give us a peaceful and wholesome experience.

Weekend Trip to Wild Canyon Ranch CA

We took a pre-school class camping at Tyler’s place! We really had a great time. The kitchen and bathroom worked great even though we had close to 30 people at max. The donkeys and cows were a huge hit. The property provided plenty of space to roam and explore so the kids had a great time. The hike to the creek was a bit more intense than we realized but the creek itself was great! Just a very big climb back to home. Overall both the kids and the adults had a spectacular time and we plan to come again

Beautiful piece of land in a remote part of Mendocino County. The sauna and showers are gorgeously constructed. Although the creek was dry when we were there in September, the hike was gorgeous. A perk of September visit there is the fig tree that was big enough to feed all the visiting campers. There was a large group of friendly campers there during our stay. So while the camping stay didn’t feel private it is a beautiful spot.
