I would give the host a 5 star rating. We are an older couple, in our 70s, and having a bathroom and shower inside the house on the second floor was a little inconvenient. Otherwise, the set up was charming and the yard great for our dog.

Weekend Trip to River Song Camp

My partner and I had a lovely stay at Riversong camp. The camper had everything we needed from a cozy bed, cooking supplies as well as a little burner to cook our meals. The property is also very close to an awesome Brewery with delicious food and it’s right next to the Mad river! We can’t wait to come back!

1 night at Bayside Cabin

The spot was lovely. Ted did an amazing job building the little cabin. It was like sleeping in nature. We loved walking into town and seeing the sheep. We had everything we needed. Whenever we saw Ted, he reminded us to ask for help if needed. There is a list of helpful tips in the cabin and a way to call or text Ted or Emily.

2 nights at Radio Ranch Camp

Stayed here for 2 of our three nights. The first night was in the A-frame Alpine Cabin. Both were exceptional. Stepping into the Aristocrat is like going back in time 6 decades, but its in amazing shape. The whole camp is well done, romantic, quiet, and serene. We came in summer, so it was warm enough to take a dip at the top of the waterfall. Do yourself a favor and come here!

We had one campsite, and one interior room rental. Our time was fantastic, with many good conversations with Wendy and John. John also taught one of our group how to make his excellent bread. Having flush toilets and hot showers makes several days camping very pleasant.

5 nights at Bayside Cabin

Cute cabin set in a lovely wooded setting. We loved our stay. Enjoyed breakfast every morning at the nearby cafe. The basic kitchen was fine to make coffee and light lunch and dinner. This is a pleasant glamping experience.

Weekend Trip to Bayside Cabin

we loved our stay at the cabin! it was super close to the beach and to lots of cute plays to eat while still getting the outdoor camping feel. they had absolutely everything we could ask for with even providing a camping stove already hooked up to propane. Along with that the outdoor shower was a dream with hot water! the outside kitchen set up was so nice and had all the plates silver wear and amenities you could need. the cabin itself was pretty close to the other house on the property but covers with lots of trees so it’s created some nice privacy. the inside of the cabin came with a stove heater which made nights super cozy! we loved getting to see how many banana slugs we could find in the morning, they were a super entertaining part of our trip!

Lisa was a very great and responsive host. You can tell she has thought of everything you might need. Although we didn’t get the privilege of meeting her directly, we did get to meet her sweet pup. The cabin has its quirks that I found to be quite fun and unique, the fire pit is a great touch underneath the stars and the property is in perfect proximity to Sue Meg, Trinidad, and some really cool beaches. Beautiful treehouse. Maxwell was a very responsive host and left clear instructions. Heater worked very well on a cold morning. The treehouse is in a very urban neighborhood but faces the host’s yard with a fire pit on one side and a park on the other side that was teeming with birds.

Walk to the beach of our wild ocean along a no-shoulder country road. We have no visible neighbors, no ambient light or sound. The Victorian village of Ferndale is three miles east, as is a beautifully maintained 110-acre town wilderness with hiking trails called Russ Park. A 150-year-old cemetery slopes down a hillside & is filled with 19th century charm and history. Shops and restaurants welcome visitors. There are several bars/a wine bar/and a historic saloon that's as old boy as it was in 1890. A music venue in a restored 19th century church has amazing acoustics and attracts international talent as a top-notch venue (sessions are filmed for PBS) midway between Portland and San Francisco. So, it's a mix of town and country, village and farm, wilderness and bewilderedness. The Redwoods Bend Retreat is a place to get away from it all. Located on the Yurok reservation right on the Klamath River just outside Orick, CA, we are "off the grid", through a Redwood forest and over a mountain down into the Klamath River valley. We have a 5 acre meadow, and orchard with 50 trees, peaches pears, apples, cherries, plums, pluots, apricots and grapes. We are right on the Klamath river. It's a great place to come and recharge your internal batteries. There is no cellphone service and none of our sites have internet service. Our Main House was built in 1952 and retains the flavor of the 50’s. It houses a kitchen, dining hall, a living room, two bedrooms and a bathroom with a bathtub and shower. Our log-built Lodge overlooks the Klamath River with 3 bedrooms, a full kitchen, bathroom and wrap-around covered porch. Our Pumpkin and Blue Cottages. They are close to the double Yellow Shower house and toilets, and they have hot and cold running water, a propane cooktop, and a wood stove for heat. We do NOT have refrigeration, and our solar batteries or generator provides us lights at night. Campers who use our Cottages may use their own sleeping bags, but we have beds with mattresses and pillows and clean bedding. We also have an Upper Barn bedroom and half-bath rental. Our two-story Riverview Yurt appeals to folks who want a full kitchen, a private shower and flush toilet overlooking the Klamath river from our 50 x 50 foot upper deck. Luscious to sit outside and watch the river flow by during the day, and to let the water lull you to sleep at night. For families (up to 8), folks who like to fish, or old friends who just want a very special get-away. Each of our six campsites have a picnic table and a fire pit. Our Maple River, Grotto River and Pepperwood River sites overlook the gorgeous Klamath River. Our Morning Meadow, Orchard Meadow, and Deer Meadow sites are close to our 5 acre meadow where blacktail deer graze in the evenings. We have a Yellow double Shower House with two separate sides, each with a toilet, sink and shower and on demand hot water, so folks don't have to wait. There's also a new Camp Shower at the corner of the orchard for our campers, along with two outhouses for camper use, one at the bottom of the road down to the meadow, and another in the woods just past Deer Meadow Camp. We see lots of wildlife; silver foxes, a bald eagle and a family of river otters downstream, vultures, blue heron, occasionally an osprey will fly overhead clutching a freshly caught salmon and call to each other to brag about it! There are rare sightings of timid black bears who run from humans, but sometimes can be seen grazing in the meadow with the black-tail deer. We're surrounded by old logging trails made by the lumber companies 80 years ago when they clear cut the old growth redwood on our side of the mountain, and now it's completely reforested with 200 ft tall Doug Fir, Madrone, Cedar, Oak, other pine species and Pepper wood trees, and we have written permission from the Green Diamond company to allow guest to hike on their adjacent properties.
