Very peaceful, private. and close to essentials like coffee, groceries, fuel, restaurants, and fabulous sights. Redwood National Park, Redwoods State Park, drive through trees, one log home, Avenue of the giants and many other historic sites, towns, and natural wonders are all within a 40 minute radius. The beach is just 25 minutes away. This is the best location for a surf and turf get away! Onsite, you may see red fox, deer, turkeys, bear, possums, skunks, and a huge variety of birds. You'll also likely see our chickens and dogs: the beginning of our organic, sustainable, off grid farm. We've been carefully tending and nurturing this forest for just over four years to mechanically remove invasives like scotch broom, himaylayan black berry, English ivy, Pampas grass, bull thistle, and non-native onions while reintroducing native species. Hiking and Mountain Bike trails on site and adjacent to miles of additional trails in Second Growth city park. Very peaceful and close to essentials. Redwood National Park, Redwoods State Park, drive through trees, one log home, Avenue of the giants and many other historic sites, towns, and natural wonders within a 40 minute radius. Onsite, you may see red fox, deer, turkeys. We've entered our rainy season. A good quality tent and 4wd are highly recommended. This is a campsite on private property with an outhouse style portable toilet. Our forest is dark and our drive way is steep. You must be checked in before dark.

Redwood National Park, Redwoods State Park, drive-through trees, one log home, Avenue of the Giants, and many other historic sites, towns, and natural wonders within a 40-minute radius. Onsite, you may see red foxes, deer, and turkeys. A Walk in the redwoods along the seasonal creek will land you in the city park near a history museum, another 6 miles of trails, and downtown old Fortuna. Enjoy family-owned bistros, a distillery, a massage, or unique shopping. There is a common area with picnic tables, umbrellas, and charcoal grills in the forest. There is also grills, a fire pit, a table, and a gazebo across from the trailers.

Perfect little off grid campsite if you're looking to explore the less traveled! Wendy and Todd were so friendly and accommodating! As well as super knowledgeable about the area and local trails and trees!

This camp site and land was amazing! Very beautiful and right in nature. If you want to be in the redwoods with the convenience of being close to town this is it. Also the hosts are absolutely amazing, super friendly and helpful!

Great hosts and a lovely campsite in a beautiful grove of Redwoods. Clean toilet and picnic benches nearby. You need to hike up a small trail through woods to the fire pit and BBQ . Great night sky viewing. Don’t sleep on the free range eggs. Just a note to take your own drinking water as noted in reservation.

Surrounded by beautiful redwoods and choose your own tent site! Gorgeous, affordable, and private. Eggs were delicious as well. Only downside is fire pit is up the hill, but the wood and kindling provided was perfect. Would definitely stay again!

Really great experience! A beautiful, immersive stay nestled in a forest of redwoods and ferns—honestly better than many public campgrounds I’ve been to. The hosts were wonderful and very accommodating. Fires are only allowed at the upper site, which has a firepit for both firewood and cooking. They also provided a charcoal grill, which was a nice touch. The campsite sits in a small valley, so I’d recommend an AWD vehicle that’s not too low to the ground—something like a Subaru sedan should be just fine. We spent so much time just enjoying the view, sipping coffee under the shade of the trees and taking in the peaceful atmosphere. Definitely hope to come back!

Really beautiful site! The ground where we set up the tent was super flat, driveway was a bit steep so I’d recommend a car with 4 wheel drive, Todd was super nice when we met him!

We enjoyed our two-night camping at Todd’s place. The camp site is surrounded by redwoods, very private. Great host, I totally recommend it.

We had a lovely time on Wendy & Todd’s land. My only qualm was not being able to have a campfire at our own site, but otherwise this is a very special spot!

I had a peaceful stay in the redwoods. Nice private spot and very clean port-a-potty. Occasionally spotted dear and plenty of bird life.

Great site! The hosts were so great to talk to, they shared great information about the local flora and fauna! We found so many banana slugs, we loved it! Super clean potty too :)

We had a delightful stay at Wendy and Todd's magical land in Fortuna. Beautiful spot in the Redwoods. Gracious and communicative hosts. Pristine porta potty! Highly recommend!

My family and I had a perfect couple of days resting and relaxing amongst the magic of some redwood trees at this camp site. This site was private yet surprisingly close to town for all of our needs. We loved that there was an outhouse, a table area, and a nice flat campsite to set up our tent. My primary concern when HipCamping is finding a safe place for my kids. This site definitely exceeded all of our expectations! I didn’t think I would get our 13-year-old to leave. The only challenge we had was getting our overly packed vehicle up the hill to exit the site. It wasn’t bad, but we don’t have AWD and it took a few tries. I would say it all added to our adventure. We absolutely loved our stay and would be lucky if we got the chance to visit again!

Very clean honey bucket—easily the cleanest I’ve ever seen—with a sink and foot pump for water right across from the site. The site itself is in a hollow above a little stream on a very flat area between a couple trees; it was perfect! Todd and Wendy stay just up the hill and were helpful, kind, but also private (in a good way). The fire pit works for cooking and there’s ample firewood up atop the hill. You can only drive up there with a 4x4, but it’s just a short walk. The campsite is accessible without 4WD, but make sure you work up plenty of speed when you’re going up the hill to exit the property! I failed my first attempt but never had a problem thereafter. It’s incredibly peaceful and quiet but just five minutes from US-101; the perfect, tranquil spot to hang with easy access to all Humboldt has to offer! I’d definitely come back again.

Beautiful secluded campsite among the trees tucked away on the edge of town with direct hiking trail access to the local community park. There was plenty of room to fit our four (small) tents, as well as a picnic table area which was well-lit by a clearing in the trees. Make sure you have 4 wheel drive or it will be an adventure making it back up the steep driveway. No fires on site but just up the road at the top of the hill is a communal fire pit. No showers, flushing toilets or potable water, but there was a clean outhouse with a foot pump sink. Definitely a great place to stay if you are looking to camp in the area!
