Keep your eyes peeled for the impressive eagle activity in the area, as bald and golden eagles are frequently spotted soaring above or perched nearby.
At night, you may have the opportunity to join us for star viewing parties under our dark, expansive sky—an experience you won't forget.
While our site offers access to seclusion, it's not entirely secluded on its own. Nestled at the bottom of a pasture in a farming area, it's within sight of the owner and a neighbor. However, rural living offers a sense of privacy, allowing you to relax and be yourself amidst nature. Keep in mind that you may encounter bugs, coyotes, deer, and some nearby farming activity during your stay.
Our communal camping area features level ground, fire pit, potable water spigot, camp toilet, and a picnic table. Well-behaved dogs are welcome but must be leashed or kenneled on the property—feel free to let them off-leash on the adjacent public lands.
You may get lucky and get a visit from one of our barn cats-Pumpkin and Spice, or get a glimpse of one of the dinosaur chickens (Guinea Fowl) that serve as pest and mosquito control.
Owners are available to provide information and maps for hiking and outdoor recreation activities. Enjoy stunning views of Mount Shasta from your campsite, with seasonally flooded fields adding to the picturesque scenery. You're also welcome to explore the hills nearby, offering even more breathtaking vistas to discover.

We originally purchased the 20 acres of untouched land and built our cabin, the "Snug Shack," as a getaway from the city. Fast forward a few years, and 40 acres next door with an abandoned house on the canyon ridge went up for sale. We decided to purchase it and start a homestead there. That 40 acres where we now live was badly abused, and we have been in the process of cleaning up and restoring it. Fortunate for you, the land surrounding the Snug Shack was never abused and is still pristine and beautiful. I have two acres of land separate from my home, pretty much wooded property ideal for tent camping or sleeping in your car you are off the road a bit with privacy in a secure safe environment. You will find shelves between the trees and solar lights at each campsite for your convenience.On the two acres, there's a Porta-Potty available, and all my guest will receive a welcome bag, as a thank you for booking with River Pines. Our burgeoning farm is located on approximately 3 acres, situated in the mountains of the Siskiyou Cascades, in a secluded valley with easy access to national forests and nearby lakes and rivers. Our space features gorgeous sunsets behind Black Mountain in the winter and views of Mount Shasta in the distance when the weather permits. We have a wide range of outdoor activities available in the nearby recreation areas, as well as fine dining, shopping, arts, and entertainment in the nearby cities.
The property is within minutes of multiple boat launches for both lake and river access, and swimming at the lake is within walking distance, along with hundreds of acres of public land accessible via trails beginning on-site.

What a view! Easy to set up, water and electric right there. Level and gravelly. Across the road is a field where Balds and Goldens gather every morning. It was magical! And Shasta is the backdrop for all of this! Laurie is responsive but let's you be. Go and camp there!

Becky and her husband made us feel safe and welcome on their land. It was dark and foggy when we arrived, but we woke up to a beautiful scene of frosty, rolling hills and spent the morning with the horses and donkeys. We will definitely be staying here again in the future!

Lovely area, love the smell of juniper trees, if youre planning to camp this time of year note that it can get into the freezing temperatures, view of shasta is amazing. Theres a local dollar general 15 minutes away should you ever forget and need anything.

Be sure to follow his directions, not Apple Maps. Also, be aware cell service is limited at best and there wasn’t WiFi.
However, it’s a cool spot. The views are amazing and the stars are breath taking. A bit rugged and rural, so make sure you’re prepared. The views of Mount Shasta are top notch!

It was nice! There was a well kept outhouse, and she put hand sanitizer and such inside. Nice touches. There was a garbage can and a picnic table - we had a good camping experience there.
The only drawback in my opinion is that the camp lacks a source of water so you need to bring your own.

We were not sure at first if we were at the right place. We pulled in where it said picnic and found an area to set up came with porta johns. Dahllia was quick to respond to confirm we found the spot we were looking for. The river is a huge bonus, the kids and dogs had a great time swimming. To find it you walk the Riverbank Dr to the left and it ends at the swimming spot. The sunset was amazing with a gorgeous night sky. It was about an hour from Crater Lake and very secluded. We would definitely recommend this spot.

We had a wonderful time in this cabin. Although the cabin is small, it is well designed and feels much more spacious. The loft was great and the outdoor shower worked exceptionally well. The property is so peaceful and private, it was great to hang out. Hope to get back there sometime.
