This was originally a Girl Scout camp called Singing Pines back in the 30’s. You’ll see as you roam around some of the original buildings and structures. It hasn’t been in operation as a Girl Scout camp for over 30 years. The bigger building is an Airbnb for groups. They will also have access to the lake.
DIRECTIONS:
Take Exit for Angeles Crest Hwy (Hwy 2) from the 210
Go North, up the mountain for 29 miles
Turn left on Sulpher Springs Rd
Go about a mile and you will see a Singing Pines sign up on a hill on the right side.
There is a white gate which is usually open but if it's closed go ahead and open it.
Go down that driveway about a mile and turn left at the fork.
Follow that road down and around the lake staying to the right. Once you passed the lake there will be a little uphill and the location is on the left.

The Skoolie is a converted short bus with two love seats that convert to an RV queen bed, sink, stove top, dinette, and over head lights. Outside is a private meadow with a short walk to a small lake. You can bring your fishing gear. It's stocked with Bass and Bluegill. Outside the Skoolie is a picnic table, fire pit (firewood $10 a bundle) and a hammock. Up the hill, a very short walk is the private campground toilet facility. This is not shared with anyone else.
No cell phone reception no linens bring a sleeping bag or warm blankets. You can charge your phone in the Skoolie for a sunrise alarm or just to take pictures.

Put the well equipped full kitchen to work and make meals for yourself or the whole family. Eat at the bar or seat everyone in the dining space, or the warmer months, outside on the deck surrounded by nature. In the morning, you'll find a stocked coffee station.
Take advantage of convenient on-site laundry for longer stays or snow days.
Get cozy in your choice of three bedrooms. The upper floor bedroom features a queen-size bed with a private work space and also a beautiful, spacious master bathroom. For dining, besides other restaurants, Hortencia (before Cliff Hanger) is a famous, great-view Mexican restaurant, which was in the movie "The Next", 15 minutes away, Tudor house food with a fantastic show. "Sky Park" is a recently opened adventure park. Kids will love this place, Snow Valley is the closest ski area. Don't forget to enjoy the beach of Lake Gregory, where you can swim in Lake Gregory in summer. Shopping at Crestline Village (Lake Dr.), many times you can find an antique of great value! Staying one night is not enough.

Highly recommend Jess's tiny cabin! The views are spectacular and the mini pool was so refreshing and relaxing. We were pleasantly surprised by the stocked kitchen supplies and the mini fridge. Jess was super responsive and extremely helpful with any questions we had, and was able to turn on AC and trigger the generator for electricity at night as soon as we needed it, which we really appreciated. We will definitely visit again!

There was plenty of space for all of us, and we had no problem parking our trucks, which made everything really easy. We spent the evenings relaxing outside under the stars, and the setup made it even better. Being able to bring our dog was a huge plus—she loved it just as much as we did. The host was easy to communicate with and made everything smooth. Everything felt clean, well put together, and easy to enjoy. We’ll definitely be back! ❤️

Beautiful and clean cabin. Perfect for my needs: I spent my time unplugged. The upstairs was warm during the day, but it cooled off as soon as the sun set. Would stay again.

I love the privacy Star Ranch offered! The campground was well equipped. I didn’t know the two cabin was included on the reservation, so that was a bonus that we all loved! The covered common area (kitchen, dining) are awesome. We were so ecstatic about the flushing toilet and hot shower!! Overall, this place is amazing!! If you want privacy and do not want to give up luxury and comfort, this place is for you!! Thank you Osman for hosting us. We will be back for sure!

Perfect spot for our family of four (7mo old and 3 year old). Green Valley Lake was a great area to stay in and the house was very and clean and welcoming. Our daughter loved the games and books and there were many other thoughtful touches. Would recommended and definitely stay here again!

I had a very peaceful night at Star Ranch. After driving from Texas for 11 hours, I was so ready for a good night’s sleep. In the morning I woke to the sound of nearby chickens clucking, and a barred owl hooting off in the distance.
The A-frame was a lot more spacious than I thought it would be, having seen the pictures of it on HipCamp. The campsite would have been perfect for a small group, but I was happy to be there on my own.

Went with our 2 large rescue dogs and they loved it. The place was clean and well equiped. It was cold outside at night but the heater worked great. Instructions on how to reach the parking were detailed and easy to follow. Its a really great spot and so close to LA. If you bring your pets, a set of shoes for your furry friends would be a good idea due to the broken glass that pops up in the sand around the area. Our dogs had shoes so no worries for them. As with any off grid space in the California desert, wildlife is a thing to be aware of. There was a family of large coyotes that passed by one afternoon, so keep any eye on your pets. Would definitely come back to enjoy the spot again.

This is a great little cabin for a family. It has lots of beds and everything you need for a getaway. It’s walking distance from the shops, restaurants, and lake. The owner responds super quickly and is very accommodative.

Adorable and enchanting cabin! Just as beautiful as the pictures describes. The staircase is a masterpiece :) Even the dishes are cute! Also relaxing outdoor seating. Perfect hidden oasis of tranquility.
