Anson and I continue to build everything ourselves with the help of our friends and family every now and again. Our process is that we source as much lumber using the dead Eucalyptus trees we have here on the 36 acre property and we are constantly trying to come up with innovative ways to use recycled and donated materials in the venue. During the pandemic, we turned our venue into a campground so we could open up the venue to people who needed to get out into nature. We are now open for daily camping and private events. "If you got the sight, we got the views." Our property sits on top of a hill on 10 acres of beautiful panoramic views of Cahuilla and, Palomar mountain along with rolling hills of large rock formation and colorful wildflowers in the spring. Nestled up to the wildlife preserve of the government bureau of land management which provides more of a quiet and private setting to enjoy what nature has to offer.
You will see Jack rabbits and cotton tail bunnies, roadrunners, quail, owls, different type of birds, hawks, coyote, lizards, snakes and even some toads. On occasion you may see deer, Bob cats, mountain lion along with endangered kangaroo mice, The beautiful night sky is easy to see planets and shooting stars without the interruption of city lights.
There are many trails to walk, hike, bike and horse back ride where you can discover large boulders in different shapes and sizes along with hidden caves. A variety of rocks and minerals can be found for those rock hound enthusiasts as well.
At the camp site you will find a horseshoe pit ,indoor and outdoor games and treasure hunts for everyone to enjoy. If you want to bring your own set of golf clubs you can even hit some balls!
We allow pets for a $10 per pet/per booking. If you want to bring a pet, please add the pet fee listed as an extra during the booking process.
There are off road areas nearby. Bring your motor bike, quad or buggy and throw up some dirt.
Not too far there is a Casino, a store open 24 hrs. and a restaurant call for hours. 20-30 minutes away from the Temecula stores and wineries.
You don’t have to worry about packing up a bunch of camping equipment, our camp provides a 35 foot RV if you prefer a roof over your head and a place to sit down for a meal. The power runs off a generator ( you will need to provide your own fuel. it is a 5 gallon capacity). has indoor and outdoor lights, a radio, outlets to plug in a fan or heater or a phone/computer. There are dishes and utensils,pots/pans and a toilet. Outside water is provided to wash up and clean the dishes. There is a propane b.b.q, propane fire ring, outdoor bench, table and camp chairs. included in the cost.

"If you got the sight, we got the views." Our property sits on top of a hill on 10 acres of beautiful panoramic views of Cahuilla and, Palomar mountain along with rolling hills of large rock formation and colorful wildflowers in the spring. Nestled up to the wildlife preserve of the government bureau of land management which provides more of a quiet and private setting to enjoy what nature has to offer.
You will see Jack rabbits and cotton tail bunnies, roadrunners, quail, owls, different type of birds, hawks, coyote, lizards, snakes and even some toads. On occasion you may see deer, Bob cats, mountain lion along with endangered kangaroo mice, The beautiful night sky is easy to see planets and shooting stars without the interruption of city lights.
There are many trails to walk, hike, bike and horse back ride where you can discover large boulders in different shapes and sizes along with hidden caves. A variety of rocks and minerals can be found for those rock hound enthusiasts as well.
At the camp site you will find a horseshoe pit ,indoor and outdoor games and treasure hunts for everyone to enjoy. If you want to bring your own set of golf clubs you can even hit some balls!
We allow pets for a $10 per pet/per booking. If you want to bring a pet, please add the pet fee listed as an extra during the booking process.
There are off road areas nearby. Bring your motor bike, quad or buggy and throw up some dirt.
Not too far there is a Casino, a store open 24 hrs. and a restaurant call for hours. 20-30 minutes away from the Temecula stores and wineries.
You don’t have to worry about packing up a bunch of camping equipment, our camp provides a 35 foot RV if you prefer a roof over your head and a place to sit down for a meal. The power runs off a generator ( you will need to provide your own fuel. it is a 5 gallon capacity). has indoor and outdoor lights, a radio, outlets to plug in a fan or heater or a phone/computer. There are dishes and utensils,pots/pans and a toilet. Outside water is provided to wash up and clean the dishes. This spot is designated for a quiet and tranquil experience in nature. At the top of a mountain you will find remote tranquility and views for miles. With 10 acres of the campground backing up to another 40 private acres of untamed land to hike you find solace. Of course there’s natural wildlife you get to experience like deer and little critters. We are 100% off the grid so no electricity, or plumbing. Compost toilets, old fashion water pump available for quick rinse but NOT drinking. As the host I’ll remain on the acreage but you will have your total privacy. Accessible in any vehicle.

This place was exactly what it says it is, the views are stunning, and there is lots to explore. Perfect place if you have a doggie who needs to run around as well. Vicki is super welcoming and friendly, and leaves you be while you are camping. Bringing a bundle is a good idea, but you can always find food nearby to keep the fires going. Made it up there in my Corolla which is really low to the ground. Just make sure you are paying attention to the road if you have a low car like mine, because there’s a lot of spots you can bottom out but there is always a way around them. If they are booked up you will see and hear the other campers around you. Overall a really good vibe and would reccomend to anyone. A little cold up there so layer up.

The dirt road up to the ranch was slightly narrow at some points but still an easy drive up. Very peaceful and calm once we settled into our campground. Vicki was very welcoming and friendly as well as the other hosts. We will definitely plan a second trip back soon!

The family had a wonderful experience glamping in The wine country of Temecula. The host kind, accommodating, and attentive. We were really planning on just having a little home base at the site, but just hanging out in the little farm atmosphere was the highlight of our trip.

This was unexpectedly a wonderful place to stay. Unexpected because we did not think that such a tranquil beautiful place could be found so close to civilization. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and the tour that Lacy gave on our arrival. It felt a little bit like a step back in time.
Lacey was a gracious host and we enjoyed our interaction with her.
Overnight was super dark, quiet, and peaceful. We slept like babies.
We highly recommend a stay here.
Would recommend having levelers with you if you don’t already have them for the gazebo place where we stayed.

She generously allowed us to use her land as a filming location for our short film, and she was nothing but kind, communicative, and accommodating throughout the entire process. I stayed at Lacy’s place in my sprinter van for two nights that were great. The place is peaceful and quiet. Lacy met me at the security gate when I pulled in taking me to the spot I backed into for my stay. I recommend staying here and when there check out the trail down to the pond for a serene experience.

This is our 2nd time here! We have gone at least once a year. We have loved it every time! Vicki is so nice and provided us with a great, private campsite. Plus, her famous greeter, Solo (dog), was friendly! The campsite has portal toilets, trash cans, and showers. The weather was 50-70 degrees and no wind—beautiful views of the mountains and the land. Plus, they allow campfires, which make our cold nights more bearable! We went hiking in Palomar Mountain State Park, which had many trails!

Lacy and Ben were the kindest, most accommodating hosts that we have experienced on Hip camp so far. They were very welcoming and attentive, as we enjoyed conversation with them. Although the Owl Creek site was not a good fit for us, they were very flexible and guided us in moving to the Cricket Cove site which was just right. Private, peaceful and quiet as well as surrounded with a natural beauty including a spring fed pond, it was just what we were looking for. Although the drive and turn into the spot seemed challenging at first, it was no problem and the site itself was roomy and level complete with electric availability.

This was a really nice getaway with amazing views! Vicki is awesome and so accommodating. She helps you find a good spot when you get there so if you want the most options, get in as close to check in as possible. It is off grid so make sure you’re prepared with gear cuz no electricity. I don’t know if this is normal, but temps changed drastically for us during the day. Dropped probably 30 degrees at night. We camped mid January and were in shorts in the day but would’ve frozen at night if we didn’t bring our own heaters. Cell service works but is a bit weak. Road up the mountain is narrow, bumpy, and sometimes steep. Just to keep in mind if bringing trailers. But great trip if you want beautiful Mountain View’s!
