Definitely one place I would visit again! The Shadow Hills site is fantastic with spectacular views located in the middle of wine country. Waking up to the cool morning air and watching the hot air balloons ascend and descend in the distance was captivating.

Very nice space for a simple campsite. We wanted to get away from the town/city, as the location provides mountains and some homes nearby. The host, Garth, was very kind and communicative. Always messaging us with updates and was transparent. I would say the campsite is on their land, so their home is next door. We had the opportunity to be the only campers on the property, which was a plus, since the campsites are less than 10 feet apart. A neighbor had a party until 2 a.m., which was unexpected and beyond the host's control. We did not have the best quality of sleep. Besides that, we still had a wonderful time on their site! :)
I had such a nice little get away :) I had never been camping alone before so wanted somewhere relatively local and not too into the wilderness to give it a go. Arrived to a nice clean paved little site which I really appreciated since I have just a small sedan not meant for off roading at all. I opted for the stove and the fire pit which Garth had set up ready to go! He came out to check in with me when I got there and fortunately I did not need any assistance this trip but had I needed it I know would’ve been taken care of! Not a ton of shade and it did get warm but there was plenty of breeze! The Pepper spot had a beautiful view, I also set my tent up in front the tree with flowers under it which a hummingbird frequently visited, probably my favorite little perk :) yes, you’re clearly on someone’s property lol but with a little effort that can stay mostly out of view and it’s a beautiful property anyways so I don’t see any cons personally. I would stay here again happily :)

Fantastic property that they turned into a few campsites. Comfortable seating, beautiful sprawling Mountain View’s, amazing hosts. Would definitely recommend. They are living the dream out here in wine country. It was so nice to sit under the stars and feel at peace with the mountains at night and not scared of being in the middle of nowhere lol. The host was so nice and personable, working on their land all morning to just make it’s even more beautiful. Can’t wait to come back. Absolutely loved our time here.

While the location is great for visiting Temecula wineries, the setup was a bit disappointing. The camping spot is essentially a clearing right in front of the host's garage. It didn't feel very private or secluded since other houses were visible nearby. The host was very friendly and greeted us warmly, but if you're looking for a traditional, "into the wild" camping vibe, this might not be the place for you.

Nice spot about 5mins drive from wineries. Lovely views from the upper location (pepper). Garth and his wife are lovely.
The hosts were very communicative, friendly and accommodating. Great spot for a quick getaway. They place was very clean and dog friendly. Would definitely come back!

We brought our travel trailer here and we were absolutely stunned by the view from the Pepper campsite. The backdrop of the mountains at sunset were amazing and we even caught the hot air balloons our last morning there! Having the fresh water spout was a great addition as well as the bench and chairs.
My only comment was it was a little less private than expected, but it was certainly the most private of all the options and we were able to angle our car perfectly to block the main house. Overall we would absolutely stay here again for wine tasting and stargazing!

Garth and his wife have an absolutely beautiful property. We stayed at Pepper, the one at the top of the hill, and it was well worth it. The views are incredible, and the camp site was clear and spacious. Garth was very attentive, and was very good about communicating through the hipcamp messenger. They were excellent hosts, and I don't know what more anyone could ask for. They gave us great recommendations for wineries, and were fantastic all around. We had a view of the hot air balloons launching in the morning and bird watching was great, especially near dawn. It was also easy to get a rideshare from the property to the wineries. 10/10 would do this again. It is an excellent way to enjoy some low stakes camping, disconnect for a bit, and experience temecula's wine country.

Such a great campsite. Had views of the hot balloons every morning around 7:30 am. We were fortunate to have the campgrounds to ourselves and it was clean and pretty. Our dog loved running around the grounds too. It’s a short 15 min drive to old town and even shorter of a drive to many of the local wineries. I’d definitely recommend and stay again. Garth was very kind and chatted with us a bit and gave us some spots to hit up next time we’re in town.

We loved campong at the Pepper campsite at Shadow Hills! It has a beautiful view, two nice chairs and a table, as well as potable water. We saw hot air balloons in the morning. Shadow Hills is very close to many wineries, but you feel like your away from the hustle and bustle and immersed in nature. Pepper is the most private of the campsites. The other two campsites are right next to eachother and would be fun for a group of friends. We will be back!

I loved Garth's land site Pepper very much. Took my A-frame camper and had a great time. Beautiful views and friendly host.
An exceptionally nice spot. Very quiet, beautiful views & plenty of space. The location is very easy to find, and is a quick 8 minutes to the Temecula Wine Corridor!
My wife and I enjoyed camping on Garth’s land. We had plenty of space surrounding our RV. It had a nice table and chairs for viewing the beautiful sunsets. Super quiet and close to mountain bike trails and the wineries

I stayed at the Pepper Site. Excellent 360 views, quiet, easy to get too and super clean. I brought my camper van and opened up the doors to the views. It had a picnic table and chairs so I didn’t even have to set my own up. Owners are very kind and hospitable.

Amazing and relaxing place to stay! Garth responds in a quickly manner and super friendly. My family and I enjoyed spending new years eve here and would absolutely come back again. Amazing views, relaxing spot and friendly hosts.
I loved camping on Garth’s land! Garth is very hospitable and kind! The property is not hard to find at all. He has three beautiful sites to choose from. We stayed at the “Pepper” site that had Ahh-mazing 360* views. We only stayed one night because a friend and I are testing out our rigs/setups before our big adventure in January. Loved to see the hot air balloons flying over the hills the next morning. The sites were top notch with access to well water, trash cans, 2 chairs, picnic tables, a toilet (if need) and most importantly, THE VIEWS!! Would definitely camp here again! Thanks again Garth!

Loved how easy it was to camp here. We only needed camp for the night and we left early so we didn’t get to explore the camp area. Found the site easily and it’s close to various wineries. The site had a table, bench and two cute Adirondack chairs. It was clean with access to water and trash cans. Garth had asked if we needed a luggable loo (which we did) and it was waiting for us, set up, complete with toilet paper and a small pop up privacy tent. The night sky was gorgeous! We sat outside for some time with our kids just stargazing. Would definitely camp here again.

Very pretty! There was a truck in the driveway so we couldn't get to our site. We reached out to the owner and he wasn't able to come right away so we agreed to stay in another spot. Owner was apologetic and refunded the difference without me asking. Thank you! Your house and your property are gorgeous! So jealous! Thank you
