Weekend Trip to The Happy Camper

What a wonderful, beautiful place to stay. Thank you to Davida for creating the most comfortable, kind, clean, and even color coordinated experience. I seriously can’t say enough. My partner and I and my son (he’s 12) all stayed in the trailer and we got to experience the poppy super bloom, listen to owls and coyotes, and rest our weary bones so joyfully. There were awesome snacks, coffee, pineapple juice and drinks, all the utensils, mugs, cooling gear and accoutrements one could hope for. We made a delicious dinner in the bbq, had a little fire into the evening and made s’mores, and Davida even had cornhole and connect four set up which we happily played! The nature around the area is beautiful, and the farm area is so neat and tidy and tastefully set up. In fact everything was extremely tastefully dialed in. We had stayed the night before in a pretty unfortunate motel and this stay in Warner Springs totally saved the day! Thank you. So cozy. Davida even brought us down the BEST cookies I’ve ever tasted in the morning. Her friend makes them. Anyhow- I’m so grateful for the experience!

Weekend Trip to The Happy Camper

We had a great time staying in Davida’s Happy Camper! We were only there for a night but would have loved to stay longer. It was cozy, clean and very peaceful.

3 nights at Whiteside Mountain

My wife and I, along with our two pups, spent a few unforgettable nights at this beautiful campsite. The drive to the top was an adventure in itself, and the panoramic views along the way were absolutely breathtaking. We also really appreciated the thoughtful amenities, having running water and a flushable toilet made our stay even more comfortable. We can’t wait to come back and experience it all over again!

Weekend Trip to Secluded De Luz Goat Ranch

Site 1 was very quiet and secluded, lots of shade and tree cover. Owner has 2 very sweet dogs that roam the property and came to check on me a few times. There is a bird sanctuary nearby and you could hear the peacocks from the site. Site 2 & Site 3 look great as well, just not as much tree cover. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Weekend Trip to Olive Rock Ranch Glamping

Our stay at Point View at Olive Rock Ranch was absolutely amazing! The site is beautiful, peaceful, and tucked away in nature — perfect for a relaxing getaway. The tent was super cool and really well set up. It had a comfy bed with very clean sheets, which made it feel extra cozy after a day of exploring. Having a shower and toilet was such a nice touch, and the grill and cooking supplies made it easy to whip up meals while enjoying the outdoors. The views were stunning — especially at sunrise and sunset — and the quiet atmosphere made the whole experience even better. The hosts were incredibly friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell they care about making your stay great. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking to disconnect and recharge in a beautiful setting!

We were really pleased with Davida's hospitality. She had it set up really nicely for us. We love the vibe. The reservation is really beautiful too. We only stayed one night, and unfortunately were delayed so we didn't arrive early enough to fully enjoy it. But we would definitely go back, and stay longer.

Incredibly sweet spot smack dab in the center of wine country! We parked our 55 Flying Cloud no problem after turning into the property (good heads up on spotting the entrance - see the pictures they post on that..). Outstanding value for a boutique campground with full hookups! Would return in a minute.

I had a spectacular time on Whiteside Mountain! I was fortunate enough to spend 7 nights there with my two dogs for my birthday. The breathtaking views and peaceful solitude are exactly what I needed. I also appreciated the sense of security with two locked gates below, while still being conveniently close to town whenever I wanted a little socialization. A special shoutout to Steve, who was incredibly kind and generous—he came to my rescue when my car battery died, quickly arriving to give me a jump (thanks again, Steve!). The camp has just about everything you need, including Wi-Fi and electricity to keep your phone charged and music playing. I can’t wait to return for another trip in the future—this is one of those places you’ll want to keep coming back to!

The hospitality provided by Davida and her husband at The Happy Camper was wonderful. When we arrived we found fresh strawberries, juice and snacks in the fridge plus Starbucks coffee. The camper is very comfortable and clean and their property is peaceful and lovely. It was the perfect place to relax for the weekend.

Welcome to Nopalito Farm! We’re so happy you’ve decided to spend some time on this beautiful property! In case you’re interested, here are a few interesting things about our farm. Nopalito Farm has been in operation since late 2014, but the property itself has been a working farm for over 50 years. Lemons and avocados were the primary crops from the 70’s through the 00’s, and are still prominent throughout our 15 acres. Our predecessors then diversified the growing operation by planting a wide range of fruit trees ranging from guavas and passion fruit to peaches and figs. For a decade, hops were grown on 2 acres and were sold to breweries throughout southern California. We’ve since replaced the hop yard with perennial flowers, but continue to cultivate a wide variety of delicious fruits.

Bailes Farm

One of the last remaining undeveloped parts of Southern California, De Luz Heights is located adjacent to the Cleveland National Forest, and the Santa Margarita River (just a few miles from the campsite). On my 60 acres, there are no major roads going through or next to the property. My land is 13 miles from the Pacific ocean and enjoys a relatively mild yearly climate. Giant boulders provide topographical relief and offer platforms from which to enjoy the view of the nearby Santa Margarita Mountains. The valley views are filled with olive and avocado groves, vineyards, and horse ranches. The Camp Pendleton Marine Corps base is nearby, so you might hear some artillery in the distance on some occasions. The campsite embraces all the comforts of "glamping": a hot shower, composting toilet, beds with sheets provided, gas grill with a stovetop, pots and pans, kitchenware, a sink, picnic table, shaded deck, sofa, lounge chairs, and propane fire pit. The basics are provided: toilet paper, paper towels, purified drinking water, towels, sheets, cooking oil, etc. Campers need to bring their own blankets. I've created a network of hiking trails for especially fit hikers looking for a more rigorous hike than the nearby Santa Margarita River Trail. My trails lead through creek beds, over boulders, through rocky crags, with views of the Pacific ocean on a clear day. Hikers on my trails need to wear proper hiking boots with good traction. Sections of my trails will require bouldering with hands and feet. Expect to have fatigued quadriceps, some scrapes, and a sweaty hat brim. The campsite is accessible with a two-wheel drive vehicle; I drive a Kia Forte out there regularly. However, some tips when driving a two-wheel drive car: when going uphill on a dirt road, try to keep some momentum of about 12-15 MPH. If you stop and try to start again, your tires will spin out. If that happens, just reverse down the hill, and try it again with more momentum.

Dutchman Canyon

This 150 acre slice of heaven contains an isolated private ephemeral stream that has run the last two years from January to July. Located down a narrow bumpy dirt road off of Highway 94 Dutchman Canyon is at 1300 feet above sea level, The temperature in Dulzura remains nice year round. There are many Oaks, Sycamores, Eucylptus, Pepper and Pine Trees on the property. The fire road has been cleared to the top of the grade and a slight ocean view is available down the Otay Valley Road view line for hikers or mountain bike enthusiasts. A hiking trail has also been cleared to a stand of Eucylptus trees on the hillside with a pond area at their base on the west facing slope. The Dulzura winery is located across the valley and we are only 1/8 mile from the General Store of Dulzura. The Tecate Border crossing to Mexico is 10 miles south of the property. Located a few miles west of Deer Valley we have deer in the canyon year round looking for fresh water from the ephemeral stream. A 19th century concrete cistern holds water year round at one location in the stream bed. Please do not burn the dead oak firewood from the property.

No bathroom or shower —-however, if no one has rented the campers you can use those! Usually both are not booked at the same time but we prefer you have a toilet on your rig. We have donkeys and a horse that you can feed watermelon or carrots to provided by us. We have a hang out area without air conditioning, with a refrigerator, sink, tables and a camping stove. Some dishes and we got a large TV and DVD player donated to us! So, we added some old DVDs you can enjoy! BBQ grill We are right by the highway so it’s not quiet like in the country. However, at night I feel it’s quiet! And maybe I’m just used to it but I don’t notice the highway noise unless it’s a motorcycle. We have a fenced in place for your dog but you need to walk through where the donkeys and horse are to get there. Tiny dogs can escape under the gate . Animal manure around the field and pin. And to clarify due to someone asking! We don’t want people inside the animals pins just hanging out. We just don’t want anyone to get hurt but if you have a dog, you will pass through the donkey pin to the dog pin. The gate closes and separates the dog area from the donkeys and horse. It need to be open when your down because they sleep in there. They are sweet and have never kicked or bit anyone and if you have a dog you get a full tour. All of our guests with dogs have had no issues at all! If your dogs are large animal friendly then we are good with them being off leash!! We love dogs! Just know that the entrance gate opens and closes as we and our guests come and go at our home. We have a trampoline Basketball goal Outdoor Fireplace Above ground saltwater pool that you are welcome to use. We will be here when you check in to show you around. You will receive a gate code on arrival so you can come and go. We are family friendly No drugs or heavy drinking No leaving children unattended No entering into animals pins. You can plan a visit to the World Famous San Diego Zoo, Museums, Sea World, Birch Aquarium, Safari Park, Lego Land and more! San Diego county has wine tasting, breweries, theaters and eateries of all kinds. There are several beaches, mountain lakes, and even the deserts! You can skydive, or scuba dive, go deep sea fishing, or lake fishing, mountain biking, hiking, climbing, or walking the boardwalk! SAN DIEGO CANYON CREEK is a SMALL PATCH of WOODS, NEAR a ROAD, in a NEIGHBORHOOD. In the midst of the trees we have a great view of the stars at night. Harbison Canyon is surrounded by rocky peaks, with a creek! We have multiple species of song birds, owls, hawks, and other wildlife that live in this Riparian Habitat. There is a chorus of frogs throughout the spring nights, and crickets year round! It's a very short walk to the neighborhood park- equipped with several types of playground equipment and public creek access, or a five minute drive to a Crestridge Ecological Reserve containing multiple trails. We have three campsites and a cabin on about an acre of land. If you'd like to hang out on the property, we offer a table and chairs with each campsite to lounge in while enjoying the fresh air and nature. There are also a couple of hammocks available. In addition, our SHARED amenities include an outdoor kitchen that includes a sink with hot water, 2 mini fridges,(full at times, extra coolers available) coffee maker, a two burner stove, a griddle, a toaster oven, blender, tea kettle, and a few pans, plates, bowls, cups, and utensils. Also here to SHARE is a Propane fire pit and BBQ area. The bathroom now includes a flush toilet, sink and shower. We are continuously making improvements. Fun Fact: Harbison Canyon was named after John Stewart Harbison - aka the King of the Bee Keepers. He arrived with over one hundred colonies of bees in 1874 and within 7 years he became the world's largest honey producer! Today there are just a few bees in the area.

Plenty of onsite parking. In the morning, grab your coffee and step outside to watch the hot air balloons drift overhead. During the day, sample local vino from the 50 nearby wineries. You can explore nature at its best with our natural habitat full of quails, white tail rabbits, and natural vegetation. We love animals as well and have horses, ducks, and chickens roaming onsite. We have many nearby points of interest including the Palomar Mountains where you can get outside to take a hike or explore. We are driving distance from Julian, CA where you can check out their famous pies! We are also close to Borrego Trails where you can run and recreate and we’re only 2 miles from Emerald Creek Winery where you can kick back afterwards. Lastly, we are only 18 miles from downtown Temecula and all food and activities they have to offer. Even though we are near to activities you can find great things to do on our property as well. You can explore our 20 acres and hike through the olive groves all afternoon. You can also feed the chickens, ducks, and horses or head out the gate where you can find miles of dirt roads to roam. You can expect some natural noises during your stay. At a distance sometimes you’ll hear coyotes, owls, and the wake-up call from the rooster. Occasionally you will hear a donkey call in the distance. Your hosts live on site and usually plan to meet and greet as needed. Once you are settled you will have plenty of privacy, but we are on-site in our private home and could be reached if needed! This listing is for our spectacular yurt tent set and an RV site called the stables up on 20 acres in a secure and safe olive grove with plenty of privacy. You can expect spectacular views of the valley below, the Palomar mountains and relaxing sunsets under a beautiful blanket of stars. Our main house is about 600 feet from the site, but you will enjoy your own outside shower, compost restroom, picnic table, propane BBQ, large cooler, and fire pit! The tent accommodates up to 4 people and an additional person could bring their tent and set up on the site as well. Splitrock Farm and Retreat started in January 2021 after a global search of a place to set roots, live off the land, and create an amazing place for recreation, relaxation, and rejuvenation. Splitrock Farm Splitrock was part of a 160-acre avocado farm that prospered from 1970 to 2017, generating over 1million pounds of avocados per year until the previous owners switched off the water in 2017. Ben purchased 101 acres in 2021 with plans to harvest the dead avocado trees for firewood and replant with organic, sustainable crops such as grapes, citrus trees, and flowers. Splitrock's attraction comes from its unique groves, magnificent granite boulders, and sweeping vistas. Mixed within the avocado groves are several ancient groves and solitary trees that include 200 foot tall pines, hundreds of old oaks, and soaring palms. Freckled throughout the hillsides are thousands of humongous granite boulders, offering a prehistoric feel to the landscape. Above all, Splitrock offers unrivaled views. Over 40 miles of coastline includes views to Point Loma, the Carlsbad power station, and the Pendleton Hospital. To the northeast are views of near 11K foot snowy peaks of San Jacinto and San Gorgonio, with rolling hills of De Luz and Fallbrook in the foreground.
