Weekend Trip to Thundering Hawk Retreat

We booked this trip on a last minute whim and the host was very responsive through text. Upon arrival Daniel greeted us and showed us to our campsite. He made sure we had everything we needed and the site was to our liking. He even came back once night fell and made sure we were set. He made sure to tell us about all of the other amenities they have available if needed. (Lamps, propane tanks, fresh sheets, etc.) 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking to camp. We can’t wait to come back! (Give Daniel a raise he’s the best 😂)

This was an amazing camp spot on a lovely small family farm. I was welcomed warmly and given the tour upon arrival!

This place is perfect! They have great amenities, great people, and such a welcoming environment!! The property is beautiful and well secluded! While not being too far from stores if you need anything. Went on a whim for my friend’s first time tent camping and she had such a great time! Everything just fell into place and they really helped make it an even better time! We didn’t get to check out everything they had to offer but definitely will be going back! I will recommend this place to anyone looking to go out near San Diego.

I had a wonderful stay at the casita—it’s a super cool, spacious, and bright cabin with tons of charm and privacy. The twinkling lights, fire pit, hammocks, shaded seating areas, and even a disco ball made the outdoor space feel magical. The professional community kitchen was fully stocked with everything I needed, and the plumbing, sinks, and unique outdoor shower were clean and convenient. The large property is incredibly dog-friendly, and the host was warm and welcoming. The only downsides were the midday heat, which made it tough to stay cool, and a few too many flies and ants—but overall, it was a truly special and memorable stay!

My 6 yo son and I had a mommy-son Glamping trip and we couldn’t have had a better time. Jacob was an amazing host and the property was lovely. We slept well in the Roadrunner A-frame, made full use of the pizza oven and amply supplied kitchen, enjoyed the outdoor shower, and lounged around all day in the hammocks. Gertie the dog was a big hit with my son and I as well. We will definitely be coming back, can’t recommend highly enough.

Weekend Trip to GoodVibes Ranch Disc Golf & Camping

This campsite truly has it all! At GoodVibes we found a spacious disc golf course, a stage for live music, ample amenities, friendly hosts, playful pups, and even fresh veggies from the nearby greenhouses for guests' enjoyment. It's rustic and remote, and the common areas are shared with other guests, but we found this all to be part of the charm. Our hosts made us feel welcomed and happy to be sharing in this nature retreat amongst the boulders and oaks.

As Elizabeth stated the incline was steep but nothing the truck and camper couldn't handle. It was nice and quiet. For the most part it felt private. A downside was that the sap that got all over the truck from the tree near by but we can easily wash that off. I liked that Elizabeth was encouraging us to get out and find the whales and dolphins even though we didn't see any. She was still very encouraging. She was happy enough to put her dog in knowing we have one too. I would recommend this if you like someone who let's you do your own thing and doesn't bother you.

I took my nearly-4-year-old boy on his first ever real camping trip here. We had a great time. Two days is just about perfect. This is a good "beginner" camp site. I recommend finding a spot in the shade - we stayed in the Oak Grove. Nice hiking for a toddler, a nice camp store, and nice staff. Lots of goats and an alpaca wandering around. A+. My main "suggestions" would be to increase the water pressure in the bathrooms, increase the refill rate in the toilets, and ensure the hot shower is hot. But these are minor - again, overall this was a great place to camp and we definitely enjoyed ourselves! The owner has done a lot to put little "easter eggs" around the property to make it exciting and fun to walk around with a toddler. Also it's a quick 15 minute ride into town in case you need more ice or anything! I would definitely return.

Weekend Trip to Splitrock Farm and Retreat

Took my boyfriend and my two boys out to T-Rex Creek and it was on its own path, fit our family of four just nicely and was a beautiful spot with the added table, chairs, and firepit! We rented the bell tent and had the children take the cots that were included. The camp store was great, thanks Lyla (hope I didnt spell it wrong)! The observation deck nearby gave a real beautiful site! The bathroom was very nice! Our spot was shady, a big rock to climb on, and was a lot of fun hiking around. We saw the properties very friendly goats, friendly barn cats, one of two Great Pyrenees and Alpaca, saw them during the animal encounter and my boys were so happy to have that one on one hour with them. Rick and Susanna were so kind showing us around! My boyfriend even saw a pack of coyotes walking down our path during the night. The only thing that was mildly irritating, NOT due to the property or the owner, but the campsite that is located next to the camp store about 200 ft from us. Unfortunately they were loud until 3am playing music and their older kids were running close to our campsite screaming and yelling so we didn't get much sleep. However, we would still love to go back. Either back to T-Rex Creek or to try another site maybe further away. It was a real fun time.

Weekend Trip to Splitrock Farm and Retreat

We had an amazing experience at Redtail Rock! The views overlooking the valley were absolutely beautiful — both sunset and sunrise were breathtaking — and the stars at night were stunning. We loved the surprise encounters with the goats, alpacas, and the friendly dogs roaming the property, which made the trip extra memorable. The host was kind and welcoming. There were some animal droppings around the site, but nothing unexpected given the open nature of the property. There were rocks to climb and plenty of space for the kids to explore and play. Just a heads-up for larger groups: the site came with a small table and a few chairs, which wouldn’t be enough on its own for a big group (we were 15), but we brought extra tables and chairs and it worked out perfectly. We’d definitely come back — such a special place!

Weekend Trip to Namaste Farms

Spent time here with my best friend over the weekend and had the best time! I loved the company of My Boyfriend, the little mini horse that guarded our RV at night along with all the onsite sheep and dogs. Sean checked in a few times as he was working when I was there and was very friendly and helpful! He gave suggestions of local places we can go and left hay out for us so we can feed the animals. Thank you, Namaste farms!

Weekend Trip to Foxwell Farms

Brandy is a super responsive communicator and very kind. I just needed a place to rest after a concert at Viejas Casino and Foxwell was perfect. It's a 1 minute drive to the casino. And right across the street is a full service gas Mart with clean restrooms. I set up my tent to be near the critters...chickens, peacocks, pigs...great sounds and smells to wake up to. There was a nice bench and lounge chair at the site. Weather was wonderful, no wind, no fog. Great price. Didn't spend much time in the area as I was pretty much there for the concert, but Viejas Casino is gorgeous and Alpine community had a great feel. Gas was only $4.05 a gallon! On the Reservation. Would definitely stay here again.

2 nights at Splitrock Farm and Retreat

Everytime we come to Split Rock we enjoy a really relaxing time birdwatching, hiking, bike riding and eating fire roasted meals. There are flushing toilets and hot showers. I hope everyone enjoys this place and cleans up after themselves so we can enjoy it for many years to come. Thank you Ben!

I loved Namaste farms and would definitely recommend it. It was fun to see and interact with all the animals. Hanging out at the farm throughout the day with the dogs and puppies was peaceful and relaxing. Sean was a great host, checking to make sure everything was going well. I plan to be back in the near future.

My family and I have loved site 2! The land is gorgeous and well marked! The site hasn’t been too hot either this June!! Over all if you’re looking to be on the outskirts San Diego and to see some beautiful stars, this is the perfect place for yall! Definitely try the eggs♥️

This is a historical property in campo California. A great old west town with an interesting history behind it. This particular property was where the Buffalo soldiers kept their working horses close to 100 years ago in what is now the last standing original buffalo soldier barn. Old artifacts and handmade tack can still be found in the giant rustic barn. The barn is now used to breed unique crossbred horses that have gained Note-oriety, and have been featured on the cover of magazines, including the Boot Barn campaign (who intend to use the barn in in future photo shoots) as well as use famous spotted horse, Confettis American Warrior in the next ad campaign being shot in Hollywood next month. We tried to keep the barn with its original charm and added some world class beautiful horses that are available for riding around the property and/or photoshoots during your stay for an additional cost. We have extra stalls available for people who would like to bring their own horses for a unique camping experience including riding your horse in Camp Locket and along the USA/America border wall. Lots of space for trailer and very secure stalls in the barn. We are just starting out doing this, but have the options of staying in a brand new shed yet to be converted, in the barn inside an old stall to have a real authentic experience where the soldiers used to rest or a tent overlooking the old historical barn and the fabulous horses (right now we have babies!). We have multiple cross fences fenced areas including stalls and areas for your dog but will need to discuss details beforehand. We are very pet and people friendly.

We purchased Namaste Farms in 1997 when I was showing reined cowhorses as well as raising thoroughbred racehorses. In 2005, I purchased my first wool sheep and fell in love. Today, Namaste Farms is recognized around the globe for raising high quality wool producing sheep. While sheep are the primary animals at Namaste Farms, there are countless other animals, both four legged and feathered!NOTE: Namaste Farms is a true working farm with copious amounts of sheep, goats, chickens, peafowl, and countless other animals. Along with those, we have free range squirrels, rabbits, flies, dust and yes, even free range spiders. If you're wanting a rustic experience that gives you a break from city life and you can handle dust, dirt, cobwebs (and these can happen over night inside your cottage and WILL be in the common areas), with sounds of animals vocalizing at all hours of the day and night, then Namaste Farms is a perfect fit for you. Know, you're supporting a 501c3 charity and all the revenue goes to support the animals.This booking is for the Treehouse, and while it's only 1/2 a mile from the city limits, it has a rural feel and is centrally located to all wineries and most of the major equestrian facilities including Galway Downs, Green Acres, and California Ranch Company. For those who are coming to Temecula for horse shows, we also have a large barn with bedded stalls and turnouts (for an additional fee). There are designated horse trails right outside our gates which will even take you to Galway Downs and California Ranch Company. If you're into golf, you can enjoy Temecula's 7 PGA golf courses or Pechanga Casino which are also within a short driving distance to the farm. If horses or golf isn't your thing, you can visit Temecula Valley wineries which are all ~ 1/2-3.8 miles of the cottage gates. The wineries are not within walking distance of each other, UBER is only too happy to come here and pick you up! If you're not interested in any activities and simply want a "staycation," you can hang out here where you're welcomed to walk around the farm and interact with the animals. At night, enjoy the sounds of serenity.

Within a 10 acre range of sloping hillside, majestic rock formations and lush exotic landscape, you can find your own ideal camp spot or choose one of our leveled spots, already cleared of dry brush and ready for above ground standard tent camping. Dogs allowed on leash only and be familiar with Southern California's indigenous wildlife proper protocol, when accompanied by your canine. The camping area resides on the North side of the Via Cordoniz access road, starting at Deadwood Dome site and the Detour N De Luz sign at top of staircase, ranging North West 3/4 of the mountain up, and 10 acres left. Please be mindful of the property markers, and respect our neighboring property lines. You are responsible for your own fitness in hiking the inclining trails and staircases. Hiking or walking sticks are highly recommended. A shared cooking area, has been cleared, providing use of the propane gas grill (campers must supply own 1 lb green canister), standard size cooler, small fire extinguisher, and carved or cut seating. Nearby, a shared pit toilet with a small 5 gallon black solar shower bag, shower toga, toilet paper, glass wash basin and pouring bottle-for minor freshening, vanity mirror and 5 gallon water jug, refilled daily- or more frequently, if needed, all located in a pallet wood stall. Two additional 3 persons sleeping tents are both folded and stored at the cooking area, for guest use. Please leave an additional $5 per night, per sleeping tent used and fold back neatly, before check out. If you would like the tent set up and taken down for you, we charge $10 per tent set up breakdown fee , plus $5 per night tent rental. We have a lot of flat, usable space, but we also have some impressive boulders, hidden nooks and crannies to explore, and beautiful, mature trees. It's our little slice of heaven! The Airstream has one King bed with a super comfy mattress and the dinette turns in to an additional King sleeping space. If you want a true immersive, farm experience, ask about our add-on experiences including grooming the animals, helping at feed time, and cleaning their pens! There's plenty of great space to ride your bikes, and it's proven to be a hit with the kiddos! The Airstream is new to the ranch and is a work in progress, but you'll love the charm of hanging out in a very cool vintage trailer. We'll soon be adding some layers of paint, shine, and lots of love, so make sure to follow our progress in fixing the ole girl up! Our location is also unique because we are fully fenced in and have a separate turn out space for your horses (check add-ons for camping with your horse). We also have a small 1954 Camper ("Lucy") that can act as a second bedroom for more sleeping space (check for add-on). **WHEELCHAIR ACCESS: We can provide a ramp for the Airstream for accessibility, though please be aware the camper is small, likely not wide enough for a standard wheelchair, and the bathroom is also small and doesn't meet ADA standards. NOTE: Namaste Farms is a true working farm with copious amounts of sheep, goats, chickens, peafowl, and countless other animals. Along with those, we have free range squirrels, rabbits, flies, dust and yes, even free range spiders. If you're wanting a rustic experience that gives you a break from city life and you can handle dust, dirt, cobwebs (and these can happen over night inside your cottage and WILL be in the common areas), with sounds of animals vocalizing at all hours of the day and night, then Namaste Farms is a perfect fit for you. While most guests (and your hosts) see the idiosyncrasies and obvious cohabitation with animals and bugs beautiful, you may not. If your primary focus is on amenities, and you're looking for a completely dust/dirt, cobweb/bug, and animal/animal sound free experience, a working farm is probably not a good fit for you. We are dog friendly, but to keep our free range animals safe (and we have had them injured or killed by people not recognizing that dogs are predatory by nature), please keep your dog easily under control and on a short leash at all times. Also, because it's not possible to control your dog on a long line, dogs may NOT be tied or tethered anywhere on the property. For the sake of the antique furniture, do not leave your dog alone in the cottage unless they are crate trained and in a crate. If you want to let your dog off leash, 2 blocks down our road (and off property), there is a large scrub field where you can let your dog run free. Thank you for supporting this 501c3 charity where all the revenue goes to support the animals and the large number of dogs we foster from high kill shelters. This booking is for the Hay Barn cottage located at Namaste Farms in the heart of Temecula's Wine Country. This is a beautiful and quiet (with the exception of animal/farm sounds) private working farm situated down a wide and maintained disintegrated granite/dirt rd. While the cottage is only 1/2 a mile from the city limits, it has a rural feel and is centrally located to all wineries and most of the major equestrian facilities including Galway Downs, Green Acres and California Ranch Company. For those who are coming to Temecula for horse shows, we also have a large barn with bedded stalls and turnouts (for an additional fee). There are designated horse trails right outside our gates which will even take you to Galway Downs. If you're into golf, you can enjoy Temecula's 7 PGA golf courses or Pechanga Casino which are also within a short driving distance to the farm. If horses or golf isn't your thing, you can visit Temecula Valley wineries which are all within 1/2-3.8 miles of the cottage gates. The wineries are not within walking distance of each other, and if you want to peruse all of them, we can arrange a driver for you (30.00/hour) who will drive (Jaguar) and take you anywhere within Temecula/Murrieta while happily waiting for you so you can quickly go to your next destination. If you're not interested in any of the above activities and simply want a "staycation," you can hang out here where you're welcomed to walk around the farm and interact with the animals. At night, enjoy the sounds of serenity while roasting marshmallows at our wine barrel fire pit! The "Hay Barn" cottage is a studio with high ceilings, a beautiful stained glass window, a kitchenette and a rustically chic bathroom. The Hay Barn sleeps 3; one queen bed with a twin pull out. Please let us know ahead of time if you need the pullout and you MUST put the accurate number of people who are staying here. If you have more people in your group and don't want to share, please check out the main cottage, Hammie and the Treehouse in separate listings. Please keep in mind that we are not a "pretend farm" set up to simply attract people to our facility. This is an actual working farm where shepherdess, Natalie Redding (Nat Geo Wild's, Shear Madness) and her working dogs, Lacey, Lad and Nesta work every day. This means there is dirt, dust, chickens, peacocks, alfalfa, sheep, bugs, and other living beings associated with nature and farm life. People who've not had the opportunity to experience the beautiful and grounding life on a working farm may not understand this. I do stress that if you're an animal lover who is excited about staying at a true working farm, your co-guests may not share your verve. Please let them know there is dirt, dust, very little concrete or pavement, and they will surely leave with dust on their shoes.
