My dad bought the farm in 1974 and it used to be a working dairy and sheep farm. My dad passed away while cutting our 6 acre oat field on mothers day 2003, our little farm started to break down. We have been working on it to bring it back to life and I hope to have it up and running strong again. Sadly I just lost my mother on Aug 6th and my father Aug 13th. Alot of loss but hopefully i can have a garden soon to offer more options for our guests. Learn more about this land: Our farm is 3miles west of town within 10 miles to Black Butte lake for fishing, boating, hiking, and even disk golf. Right off of I-5 by a Pilot travel center. 4496 county road DD and also shows as Orange grove ave on some GPS maps. Public pool 3miles(1pm-5pm, water arobics Tue and Thur 6-7pm $2, family night Tue and Thur 730-9pm June-Aug) as well as shopping and dining within 3miles. Great sunset and area to roam for a bike ride or walk in the country in our little hick town with only about 8000 population. It is very likely you will hear animals so if your a light sleeper you may want ear plugs. Chickens crow and roam, cows bellow from all sides, and dogs bark and welcome guests. No trespassing signs are for hunters and people that DO NOT have permission to be here. Driveway is rough and we are working on getting it fixed asap so please take your time coming up. There is FIELD roaches you may see soon after we irrigate, they are bigger then the nasty cockroach but harmless. The wind can be rough at times up here on our lil hill so be prepared with extra rope to tie down and secure if your in a tent, also park vehicle to help block from wind and driveway. It does get up into the high 100°s here during the summer so it would be good to have shade or plan to keep cool during the hottest parts of the day. The toilet is a outhouse with solar lights and does not flush, there is shavings to drop when done. Longer stays are best done at sites 4 and 5 further from the driveway. Quick stops just to sleep are best at 1 and 2. Rainy weather only sites 5, 6 and 1 are usable sadly.

There is a flush toilet shared for both camp sites. * During freezing weather the toilets may be closed so they don’t freeze! Please check before booking *The spots are spread out to ensure privacy. Our property is surrounded by the forest and is loaded with deer, squirrels, turkeys and other forest animals. We have numerous walking trails, a fresh water pond for fishing and swimming. Please notify us if you have an RV. Site 1 is best for RV's. Site 2 can accommodate smaller RV's.

The Lake Concow/Konkow Campground is a wilderness sanctuary and houses many variety of rare and endangered plants, animals, and insects. Please be aware of and give respectful space to all of the residents of the park. The list of year round residents may include poison oak, thorny berry vines, mosquitoes, ticks, spiders, deer, eagles, osprey, owls, squirrels, skunks, foxes, bears, mountain lions, snakes, bats, and more. Please be responsible for personal camp supplies and trash. The Campground is a Pack In/Pack Out location and garbage cans are supplied near the office house near the entrance. Good hiking shoes, protective clothing, and hats are recommended. All Campground faucets supply delicious, potable water tested regularly. The modern listings spell the name Concow, Ancestors spelled it Konkow. Both are correct, though may give different search results. There is plenty of room for parking large vehicles and for turning around. TOW VEHICLES MUST STAY THE DURATION OF THE CAMPING VISIT. Michael has a killer piece of property with prime riverfront access. Well cleared, flat camping area with great access to the buck tail boat ramp. Outstanding views of the night sky surrounded by federal land.

Weekend Trip to Maple Creek Ranch

My family and I had the best time camping at Maple Creek Ranch. We stayed at Site 2, which was privately nestled among the trees—clean, flat, and perfectly peaceful. The site included a deep firepit and a sturdy picnic table, making it easy to relax and cook meals together. The amenities were fantastic. There was a spotless outhouse just about a hundred feet away (with a flushing toilet!), and a hot shower next to the pond. The pond itself was stocked with bluegill and bass, and my family caught their first-ever fish there—an unforgettable memory! But the highlight of our stay was Ron, the host. He’s an absolute gem—so kind, genuine, and full of great stories. He brought us firewood and water and when my car battery died on our last day, he didn’t hesitate to drive over with his truck and give me a jump. His hospitality truly made our trip special. We’ll absolutely be coming back and can’t recommend Maple Creek Ranch enough to anyone visiting the Cohasset/Chico area!

This is our 5th trip to Maple Creek. We’ r gone in summer, fall & winter and the location is always beautiful. Ron & Kristen are great hosts. They are present but not overbearing. They’re proud of their land and genuinely enjoying sharing it.

Stayed here on the first and last night of a long road trip, sleeping in my car. They were great! I got in later (10 pm) the second time and they called to make sure when I’d be there and left the bathroom and WiFi codes for me in an envelope on the door.

1 night at Eucalyptus Forest & Mountain Views

This place may not be for everyone, but for two dual sport motorcycle campers shut out of “normal” campgrounds due to the government shutdown, it was perfect. Kind of a steampunk vibe with lots of concrete and steel, with a view of the Stony Gorge Reservoir spillway. It is central to some fantastic motorcycle riding.

This was the perfect place to stop over on our trip down to Yosemite. Very close the highway, easy to find, and our spot was pretty level. The hosts could not have been nicer! Johnathan and Wes truly cared that we were enjoying our stay and made sure that we had everything we needed to make us comfortable. The majority of the park is full-time residents, however we felt safe and it was very quiet. We would stay here again if passing through the area. Bonus: the laundry room was very clean and the washer/dryer actually worked very well! No extra time needed for our load of towels - which is always an awesome surprise!

Weekend Trip to Eucalyptus Forest & Mountain Views

Huge area to choose a spot to camp. Plenty of trees for hammock camping and lots of flat area for tents. Common area was super cool with a HOT outdoor shower. Shower does have walls that cover your torso and stuff, but it's not completely enclosed. Shared kitchen facilities, fridge, freezer, etc. all pretty top notch for a hipcamp spot. Two flush toilets in a shed structure with a lockable door. Would love a sink in there :) Super, super friendly and hospitable hosts.

The site was a very, very private and beautiful setting next to a very old oak tree. The site had no amenities except a pretty old picnic table. But honestly for the price to be able to just take my little trailer and just pop inside and go to bed and feeling safe because I was on a property that was behind a locked gate., I couldn’t have asked for much more.

Maple Creek was awesome! Very peaceful and Ron was super helpful and friendly. Despite the fact that there was an event taking place on the property the same weekend, I felt like I had the whole place to myself. The flush toilet is also a gem! I will definitely be staying at Maple Creek again.
