Good hiking shoes, protective clothing, and hats are recommended. All Campground faucets supply delicious, potable water tested regularly. You’ll reconnect with love ones since the cabin has NO WIFI but does have a wood burning stove and miles of trails to walk on just outside of the front door. The cabin is conveniently located just minutes from the north entrance of Lassen National Park. For entertainment, I have a TV (no cable)/DVD player with a selection of movies, board games, and reading material including a few books and magazines. There is timber land at the back of the property with plenty of trails to walk or ride a mountain bike (if you bring one). Lassen National Park is a short drive away. Also nearby is lake McCumber. I have a wood burning stove inside that you can use for a fire. Absolutely NO FIRES outside. There is a fire ban in effect, thank you for your cooperation and understanding. I have a propane BBQ outside that you can use, along with a picnic bench and other outside seating. I will provide a selection of tea, hot coco, coffee and oatmeal to get your day started. Be sure to bring food with you since the nearest grocery story is about 9 miles away. I will provide a basket of firewood to use during your stay, but it's a good idea to bring extra since it will go fast. Because you're in the forest, there is limited cell reception so please plan accordingly. I've found that Verizon has some signal while AT&T has none. Since it's meant to get away from it all, not having cell service might be a good thing. :) The master bedroom is on the entire loft floor so there isn't a lock or door that separates the main area downstairs. Just so you're aware. There is a door and lock on the guest bedroom downstairs. All you'll need to bring are your personal items, food for your stay, and extra firewood! Once booked, I will send more helpful tips and information for your stay a week prior to your check in date. Dogs - I allow dogs because I believe they are part of the family, but please notify me if you intend to bring your dog prior to your stay. If there is high wind in the forecast, the electric company, PG&E may turn the power off for safety reasons. They usually notify me a day in advance and I will let you know right away, but I wanted you to know that it might be a possibility during your stay. For Winter Guests: A 4 wheel drive vehicle or car with chains is HIGHLY recommended to travel to the cabin. The main road is paved but there will be snow/ice in the area. 2 nights at One Thing Ranch - Alpacas & Llamas

I had a wonderful time at One Thing Ranch with Nancy! The airstream was comfortable with plentiful amenities. The kitchen was fully stocked, the heater worked, and the space was spacious for sleeping and working. The animals were so fun; I got to meet each of them and give them snacks :). This is a lovely getaway in a beautiful zone of California. I enjoyed exploring the area and spending time on the property. Thank you for having me!

Weekend Trip to Maple Creek Ranch

My family and I had the best time camping at Maple Creek Ranch. We stayed at Site 2, which was privately nestled among the trees—clean, flat, and perfectly peaceful. The site included a deep firepit and a sturdy picnic table, making it easy to relax and cook meals together. The amenities were fantastic. There was a spotless outhouse just about a hundred feet away (with a flushing toilet!), and a hot shower next to the pond. The pond itself was stocked with bluegill and bass, and my family caught their first-ever fish there—an unforgettable memory! But the highlight of our stay was Ron, the host. He’s an absolute gem—so kind, genuine, and full of great stories. He brought us firewood and water and when my car battery died on our last day, he didn’t hesitate to drive over with his truck and give me a jump. His hospitality truly made our trip special. We’ll absolutely be coming back and can’t recommend Maple Creek Ranch enough to anyone visiting the Cohasset/Chico area!

This place may not be for everyone, but for two dual sport motorcycle campers shut out of “normal” campgrounds due to the government shutdown, it was perfect. Kind of a steampunk vibe with lots of concrete and steel, with a view of the Stony Gorge Reservoir spillway. It is central to some fantastic motorcycle riding.

This was the perfect place to stop over on our trip down to Yosemite. Very close the highway, easy to find, and our spot was pretty level. The hosts could not have been nicer! Johnathan and Wes truly cared that we were enjoying our stay and made sure that we had everything we needed to make us comfortable. The majority of the park is full-time residents, however we felt safe and it was very quiet. We would stay here again if passing through the area. Bonus: the laundry room was very clean and the washer/dryer actually worked very well! No extra time needed for our load of towels - which is always an awesome surprise!

Weekend Trip to Mill Creek Resort

I absolutely loved camping at Mill Creek! The scenery was beautiful, and the sound of the creek flowing nearby made the whole trip feel extra peaceful. It felt so nice to escape for the weekend, relax, and just soak up nature. I also really appreciated that they offered firewood right there at the site. It made campfire time super convenient and stress-free! Having cell signal was a nice bonus too, since it allowed me to stay connected with loved ones while still enjoying an unplugged vibe. Everyone around was friendly and courteous. We did have a neighboring camper who got noisy at first, though they became more respectful once reminded about the quiet hours. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I would definitely come back again!

Huge area to choose a spot to camp. Plenty of trees for hammock camping and lots of flat area for tents. Common area was super cool with a HOT outdoor shower. Shower does have walls that cover your torso and stuff, but it's not completely enclosed. Shared kitchen facilities, fridge, freezer, etc. all pretty top notch for a hipcamp spot. Two flush toilets in a shed structure with a lockable door. Would love a sink in there :) Super, super friendly and hospitable hosts.

5 nights at Old Lewiston Bridge RV Resort

I liked that i was the only tent camper ....well until my last day there. There was a bathroom very close to my tent site and a shower that you don't have to pay for....that's a plus. The signal is bad put they give you a wifi code for the office and club house and they are just a few minutes walk from the tent sites. And the club house seems like a nice idea for people that come with kids, because they have a TV and different types of games in there. I came in beginning of October, so it got a little cold at night, but since I travel with a heater it wasn't bad at all. Oh, and there are deers galore ....so cute. I frequently heard the birds flapping there wings. And some mornings I would hear the rooster 🐓 from a little bit away and that would be my alarm clock ⏰️. Overall, if I would head this way again camping I'd probably revisit.....it was peaceful.
