Are you ready to unplug from the world and recharge in nature? This newly built two bedroom, two bath log cabin will help you do just that. You’ll reconnect with love ones since the cabin has NO WIFI but does have a wood burning stove and miles of trails to walk on just outside of the front door. The cabin is conveniently located just minutes from the north entrance of Lassen National Park. For entertainment, I have a TV (no cable)/DVD player with a selection of movies, board games, and reading material including a few books and magazines. There is timber land at the back of the property with plenty of trails to walk or ride a mountain bike (if you bring one). Lassen National Park is a short drive away. Also nearby is lake McCumber. I have a wood burning stove inside that you can use for a fire. Absolutely NO FIRES outside. There is a fire ban in effect, thank you for your cooperation and understanding. I have a propane BBQ outside that you can use, along with a picnic bench and other outside seating. I will provide a selection of tea, hot coco, coffee and oatmeal to get your day started. Be sure to bring food with you since the nearest grocery story is about 9 miles away. I will provide a basket of firewood to use during your stay, but it's a good idea to bring extra since it will go fast. Because you're in the forest, there is limited cell reception so please plan accordingly. I've found that Verizon has some signal while AT&T has none. Since it's meant to get away from it all, not having cell service might be a good thing. :) The master bedroom is on the entire loft floor so there isn't a lock or door that separates the main area downstairs. Just so you're aware. There is a door and lock on the guest bedroom downstairs. All you'll need to bring are your personal items, food for your stay, and extra firewood! Once booked, I will send more helpful tips and information for your stay a week prior to your check in date. Dogs - I allow dogs because I believe they are part of the family, but please notify me if you intend to bring your dog prior to your stay. If there is high wind in the forecast, the electric company, PG&E may turn the power off for safety reasons. They usually notify me a day in advance and I will let you know right away, but I wanted you to know that it might be a possibility during your stay. For Winter Guests: A 4 wheel drive vehicle or car with chains is HIGHLY recommended to travel to the cabin. The main road is paved but there will be snow/ice in the area. The driveway is a slight uphill and is not paved. Please be prepared for snow. ***Approved Shasta County Short Term Rental Permit #STR 20-0013***

There is timber land at the back of the property with plenty of trails to walk or ride a mountain bike (if you bring one). Lassen National Park is a short drive away. Also nearby is lake McCumber. I have a wood burning stove inside that you can use for a fire. Absolutely NO FIRES outside. There is a fire ban in effect, thank you for your cooperation and understanding. I have a propane BBQ outside that you can use, along with a picnic bench and other outside seating. I will provide a selection of tea, hot coco, coffee and oatmeal to get your day started. Be sure to bring food with you since the nearest grocery story is about 9 miles away. I will provide a basket of firewood to use during your stay, but it's a good idea to bring extra since it will go fast. Because you're in the forest, there is limited cell reception so please plan accordingly. I've found that Verizon has some signal while AT&T has none. Since it's meant to get away from it all, not having cell service might be a good thing. :) The master bedroom is on the entire loft floor so there isn't a lock or door that separates the main area downstairs. Just so you're aware. There is a door and lock on the guest bedroom downstairs. All you'll need to bring are your personal items, food for your stay, and extra firewood! Once booked, I will send more helpful tips and information for your stay a week prior to your check in date. I had a wonderful time at One Thing Ranch with Nancy! The airstream was comfortable with plentiful amenities. The kitchen was fully stocked, the heater worked, and the space was spacious for sleeping and working. The animals were so fun; I got to meet each of them and give them snacks :). This is a lovely getaway in a beautiful zone of California. I enjoyed exploring the area and spending time on the property. Thank you for having me!

Honestly we loved it. It was obvious how intentional you were with building it and how much love went into the space. Things we loved: - remote: just far enough away from everything that it felt like we were away from the world but close enough we could get things if needed. - patio: great outdoor space - pillows: I seriously wanted to take your pillows with us. Loved our glamping yurt! Will be back for sure and hopefully with friends. Site 20 is by the trail to go to the creek but site 19 is a ways away because the vault toilet is in between. We heard the creek all night which is exactly what we wanted! It’s about 20 minutes to the southwest gate of Lassen NP.

This was the perfect place to take a day or two and just relax. The tiny house had just enough kitchen that for a short stay you didn’t need to go out unless you wanted to. It was impressively efficient. I did bring a cooler because I like cold beverages, but the small fridge would be enough for the yogurts and cheese I brought with for my 2 night stay. I had a nice time playing with the kittens, Caspian the dog, (who dutifully slept on my porch) and exploring the property. The bed downstairs was very comfortable and it was nice falling asleep to the sounds of nature outside. 10/10 recommend!

Weekend Trip to One Thing Ranch - Alpacas & Llamas
We just had another incredible stay at One Thing Ranch with the exceptional host, Nancy. This time, we introduced some close friends to this hidden gem. Nancy's hospitality was outstanding from the moment we arrived. She had the AC in the Silver Streamer camper already going to welcome us. The amenities are always thoughtful and complete; this visit, she had even added bug spray, nuts, and a hammock for our use. Each morning, Nancy greeted us and has coffee and tea avaliable add day, then took us on a tour to feed the farm's cute animals. She also provides filtered water and countless other little touches that make a stay here special. We always feel safe and completely welcome here. One Thing Ranch is our absolute go-to, and we won't stay anywhere else in the area. It's the perfect spot for families, groups of friends, or a solo retreat. The location is ideal for exploring local attractions like the caves, Shasta Lake, and Burney Falls.

We stayed at the Tiny House on our way home from a trip to the Portola area and the Feather River Canyon. The Tiny House, though tiny, has every thing you might need. Couch, desk, sink, stove, frig, bathroom, shower, heater/air conditioner and spacious loft bed. Everything functional and clean. Outdoor table and chairs outside with beautiful patio tree lighting available at night. We found a friendly dog under the front stairs in the morning and a wide variety of chickens to gaze at on the property. All good here.

We were in the rv first time we stayed and the cottage the second time. Loved them both. Clean, comfy, ac worked amazing! Off the beaten path, which we really liked! Both had everything you might need for a great stay. Will stay again when passing through! Rv was a bit too short for my husband (he’s 6’6”).

I would not recommend booking with this particular place. Unfortunately, in an honest mistake I booked the day for a day earlier than the actual booking. When I reached out to the host to get support, not only was he rude and uncaring, he would not offer any kind of partial refund or credit for the appropriate day that we were actually supposed to have booked it.. I requested a booking change and partial refund. Then, when I rebooked it for a second time, And requested a refund for the original night he refused because he states that he had to pay for cleaning. Well that’s impossible because we were never there. Then he offered to give us three bottles of wine in exchange, not only do we not drink, but that is an insult to us. When I expressed my frustration kindly, and asked for some movement or help, he stated he would not and that he helped I understood. So then I said OK then just cancel the booking for tonight as well because we don’t want to stay somewhere where we are treated like this. He said we are welcome to cancel it, but he does not accept any refunds. Mind you it had been only about a 20 minute conversation, so now he has taken our money for two nights with absolutely no services given and no kindness in return. Listen, I understand that he could’ve had a booking for the original night and that he may have lost out on some money. But that is probably unlikely given that I booked it last minute. What I am looking for is just some compromise. None. Swindler!!

Really neat little ranch property with 3 cozy abodes to rent. The tiny cabin we stayed in was very clean and thoughtfully designed to maximize the space. It was very hot the weekend we visited so thankful for the AC unit which got our house down to comfortable within seconds! Our kids loved the chickens, sheep, and llama!. Downtown Chico is only 15-20 mins away and Oroville only 20-30, lots of options! Highly recommend!
