Surrounded by towering trees and fresh mountain air, the cabin provides a perfect home base for adventure—whether you’re exploring scenic hiking trails, discovering volcanic landscapes, or enjoying year-round activities such as snowshoeing and stargazing. Inside, you’ll find a warm and inviting space designed for relaxation, complete with comfortable furnishings, a fully equipped kitchen, and thoughtful touches to make your stay effortless. After a day of exploring, unwind on the deck, gather around the propane fire pit, or simply enjoy the quiet serenity of nature. Complimentary coffee, tea, pancake mix, and syrup are provided to help you start your day. Guests are encouraged to bring groceries, as the nearest market is approximately 11 miles away and offers a limited selection. For a wider variety, we recommend shopping in Anderson, Redding, or Palo Cedro prior to arrival. During the winter months, the cabin is maintained at a consistent temperature of 68–72°F to ensure a comfortable and evenly heated environment throughout your stay. Due to the cabin’s mountain location, cellular service is very limited. A signal booster is available; however, performance may vary depending on your device and carrier. High-speed Starlink Wi-Fi is provided (approximately 195 Mbps download / 43 Mbps upload). For entertainment, the cabin includes a DVD player with a large selection of movies, along with a variety of games for guest enjoyment. During periods of high wind, Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) may implement Public Safety Power Shutoffs. Winter storms may also result in power outages. The cabin is equipped with a backup generator, which will be operated intermittently during outages. For winter travel, a four-wheel-drive vehicle or tire chains are recommended.
