Blue Belly Cabin is a contactless cabin on 12 acres of land that sleeps 4 comfortably. 1 bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and great room with sleeper sofa. We are in a country nature setting so you might see a spider web or a bug. There are fabulous sunrises, sunsets and panoramic mountain views for you to enjoy. It snows sometimes at our cabin but usually stays only a day. Many campers come to our cabin to work while simultaneously enjoying nature right outside the cabin. For the hot days we have a swamp cooler and portable A/C unit so you stay comfortable. For the cold days we have a wood burning stove that heats the big room and keeps you toasty and portable electric heaters for the bedroom and bathroom. We have a heated mattress pad on the bed and an electric blanket for the sleeper sofa and extra comforters. There is a propane fire pit and propane bbq outside for you to enjoy. Blue Belly Cabin is a huge slice of peace. There's a large area outside the cabin where you can pitch tent(s) for more people. Nearby, there are premier fishing spots, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, swimming, waterfalls, national forests, trails to hike, 6 wineries and much more.

Are you ready to unplug from the world and recharge in nature? This newly built two bedroom, two bath log cabin will help you do just that. You’ll reconnect with love ones since the cabin has NO WIFI but does have a wood burning stove and miles of trails to walk on just outside of the front door. The cabin is conveniently located just minutes from the north entrance of Lassen National Park.
For entertainment, I have a TV (no cable)/DVD player with a selection of movies, board games, and reading material including a few books and magazines.
There is timber land at the back of the property with plenty of trails to walk or ride a mountain bike (if you bring one). Lassen National Park is a short drive away. Also nearby is lake McCumber.
I have a wood burning stove inside that you can use for a fire.
Absolutely NO FIRES outside. There is a fire ban in effect, thank you for your cooperation and understanding. I have a propane BBQ outside that you can use, along with a picnic bench and other outside seating.
I will provide a selection of tea, hot coco, coffee and oatmeal to get your day started. Be sure to bring food with you since the nearest grocery story is about 9 miles away.
I will provide a basket of firewood to use during your stay, but it's a good idea to bring extra since it will go fast.
Because you're in the forest, there is limited cell reception so please plan accordingly. I've found that Verizon has some signal while AT&T has none. Since it's meant to get away from it all, not having cell service might be a good thing. :)
The master bedroom is on the entire loft floor so there isn't a lock or door that separates the main area downstairs. Just so you're aware. There is a door and lock on the guest bedroom downstairs.
All you'll need to bring are your personal items, food for your stay, and extra firewood!
Once booked, I will send more helpful tips and information for your stay a week prior to your check in date.
Dogs - I allow dogs because I believe they are part of the family, but please notify me if you intend to bring your dog prior to your stay.
If there is high wind in the forecast, the electric company, PG&E may turn the power off for safety reasons. They usually notify me a day in advance and I will let you know right away, but I wanted you to know that it might be a possibility during your stay.
For Winter Guests: A 4 wheel drive vehicle or car with chains is HIGHLY recommended to travel to the cabin. The main road is paved but there will be snow/ice in the area. The driveway is a slight uphill and is not paved. Please be prepared for snow.

Booking was easy. Close to freeway so it was very convenient. Noise from the freeway was not an issue. Site was very clean and level right next to a small stream. Easy to use grill provided. Shady trees. Bathroom was clean and very usable for me and my wife. Friendly folks at the office. Great spot for an easy overnight. We will definitely be back.

we stayed here with our 2 dogs. the views were very beautiful, we had our morning coffee by the creek. the host was very nice! the spot was nice as well. can’t speak for the portapotty.
we hiked to all of the pools, only soaked in the bottom one it was very shallow but the water was warm and the views were beautiful.
the road getting to the spot was accessible by car but there’s potholes everywhere so be careful driving in the dark.
if you take the road over the bridge there’s cows to see & if you follow the road there’s a lake a few miles in.
wish we could have stayed longer.

We loved everything about the place. The freedom to walk around unabandoned. Campsites were spacious and well maintained. the common areas had everything a tent camper could ask for, even a flushing toilet and shower, which could’ve had a little more water pressure and warmth. Thank you, Alex and Brenda for making our stay comfortable. Would’ve liked to have thanked Scott in person, but he was unavoidably detained. Would also like to see Polo on our way out. But he was also unavoidably detained. One more thing would like to see the little horse have his hooves Clipped and manicured. Love the big pond, and the creek with the waterfall. Alex, I hope you found the 12 pack I left for you in the refrigerator. oh, one more thing I hope you get site nine up and running along with the new kitchen and maybe bathroom at the north end for next year maybe? That’s a sweet spot!

The setting was magical. The thermal pools over looking a beautiful creek made my experience there absolutely amazing. I loved being able to cool off in the creek after soaking in the hot pools. I love the huge meadow where the campground is located. There is a massive amount of space for campers so you’re not right on top of each other. Someone came by and dropped off free fire wood at my campsite. I felt welcome there.

This farm is amazing, perfectly situated in the Redding area with a view of Lassen.The hosts were kind and thoughtful. Having access to the barn was Plus, the barn looks like it could be in a wedding shoot. Outdoor shower felt so nice after a long day out in about. The overall amenities far surpass typical HIPCAMP places you'll find . Highly recommend this place.

Loved every bit of this campsite!! Camped right next to the water and hiked to the swimming hole on the property. It was private, beautiful, and even came with a guard dog! They have working dogs on the property so you feel extra safe from bears and other wildlife.
They have toilets and showers with a share kitchen area which is adorable.
Would highly recommend anyone camp here!!!

Really enjoyed our 3-day stay at Kosk Creek! The campground has plenty of space and we found a great site with a picnic table and fire pit! Exactly what you want for a comfortable few days outdoors.
The owner was fantastic. He gave us all the info we needed upfront and even checked in on us during our stay, which was a nice touch without being intrusive.
The hot springs are the obvious highlight, but do yourself a favor and pair it with a polar plunge in the creek! Total game changer! That contrast is something else.
The campground was clean and well-kept. It's a pack-in, pack-out situation, so come prepared. If you need to dump trash, there's a rest stop about half a mile down Highway 299; use that, not the store.
Would definitely come back. Highly recommend!

Take A Chance was the perfect camping mini getaway. The campsite is a short 5 hour drive from the Bay Area but worth it.
My girlfriend, our dog and I were very fortunate to get a plot with a grand creek view only feet away from the red picnic bench and a dug out fire pit they provide. Plenty of spots for up to 3-4 tents comfortably.
If you like to heal to the sound of running water while sitting in a Hot Spring, this site features some amazing ones right on the edge of the river. Multiple tubs and swimming/fishing holes are accessible about .25mile of a walk.
The hottest pool was the first one we came across. It was actually too hot to soak at first, so I then added some ice cold water from the crystal clear creek with a 5 gallon bucket until tempatures were perfect.
There are more tubs that are less hot than this one.
The campgrounds have designated portable toilets all over and I would recommend using the ones hidden in the shade.
You may see beavers, deer, lizards, fish, and butterflies and more. We only got bit by misquitos a few times but once the fire was going, that wasn't an issue anymore.
The night sky starts off with Venus and Murcury peeking through the transitioning light blue to dark black. Before the full moon's slow crawl through the trees, you get to view the naked and unpolluted sky.

This place is magical. It’s sort of like a meadow along a creek. The camp spots aren’t super defined, so just pick a spot and setup camp. No running water other than the creek. There’s picnic tables and fire pits. A short walk to the hot springs for a soak. This spot is a secret gem and a must see if you’re in the area.
