Weekend Trip to Cross Bull Ranch/CBR

Lisa was a really good host. She was super friendly and welcoming and made it easy to arrive unassisted. I brought my two young daughters and they loved swinging on the rope swing and exploring the dry creek bed. We had a nice propane fire pit. (No real fires allowed). And when we needed bug spray I drove 5 minutes to pick it up and come back. feels removed from LAand yet not at all removed from civilization.

We recently spent a relaxing weekend camping at Ed’s property in Lake Elsinore, and it was exactly what we were hoping for! Booked through Hipcamp, the process was smooth and Ed was a responsive and welcoming host. The campsite itself was clean, spacious, and had stunning views of the lake and surrounding hills. We loved how peaceful and quiet the area was—perfect for disconnecting and enjoying nature. Whether you’re into hiking, birdwatching, or just looking to unwind under the stars, this spot is a hidden gem. Definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a peaceful camping experience not too far from the city!

Weekend Trip to Malibu Creek Orchard Retreat

A hidden-away gem. What a fun campsite! The vintage Airstresm trailer is in amazing shape. Decorated and arranged beautifully. Fabian put everything together so nicely. A bowl of fresh rosemary and lemons from their orchard on the table when we arrived. Coffee and cream packs in the fridge. Firewood and kindling and cooking utensils for the BBQ. Lovely little touches everywhere. Thr amenities are amazing. Full power in the trailer and a bathroom with instant hot water. A smart space heater for the chilly evenings and Alexa to play music and turn on the outside string and accent lights made for a really great nighttime camp experience. There is a hiking loop that is private to the site and takes you up into the hills with a bench at the top to watch the sunset it was gorgeous! Overall we can't wait to go back. There is a cabin you can also rent for larger groups they are renovating currently, when they is done, a larger group of friends would make this an incredible site for a getaway weekend. Highly recommend!

Had an amazing stay at Ed’s sight at Lake Elsinore! Beautiful views accompanied by the nice campsite and clean upgraded porta potty made for a perfect stay. Will definitely book again, already looking forward to it!

This is a hidden gem in Lake Elsinore! It has a lot to offer to everyone! Fishing jumping out of the water Birds of all kinds flying and swimming around Sounds of frogs and other small animals. During the day you can enjoy activities in and on the water Maybe some fishing by pier or on a boat if you have one. And watching boats and jet ski passing by. The sunsets over the mountains you are facing At night you can see some stars Across the lake you can see city lights The only negative I can say about this place is close to a main road so remember to bring your headphone this way you can mute out the sound when you are enjoying the view and sleeping. Ed the host, is the best, fast response and gives detail instructions how everything works and provides. No wonder this place is always booked. You won’t be disappointed We will be back again for sure!

We enjoyed our stay on the Lake. Direct lake access provided beautiful views, sunrises, sunsets and wildlife viewing. Even got to watch parachuters! We brought our kayak and appreciated how close the site is to the water and having a dock. We also appreciated having a very clean restroom and water, picnic tables, fire pit and shade. We have to agree with other reviews about the road noise.

We stayed on the property in Our 22 foot camper van. The site we picked was under the large oak tree next to the communal gathering area. A special treat was staying next to the Pony pasture The Saloon was so authentic. We plan to visit again

Weekend Trip to Cross Bull Ranch/CBR

Lisa set us up again for an amazing visit to her place this past weekend. We had warm heaters and clean bathrooms and made full use of the amazing space. The kids had a great adventure with the swing and running through the trails on the hill. What's great about the location is with how easy it is to get the central are in Topanga. On Saturday afternoon we took a field trip to the coffee shops, restaurants and had a great hike at Red Rock Canyon Park thanks to a recommendation from Lisa. We will all be returning back to Lisa's again this summer.

First time camping ever !! I camped with my dogs and my nephew and it was an amazing experience. Usually hate porta potties but this was cleanest ever , and it uses a flush system so you’re not looking at your waste. We did camp on the bottom right by the lake and we were able to hear the water at night which was really nice, didn’t hear the traffic by road much so it wasn’t a problem. Definitely coming back when it’s a bit warmer.

Lakeshore retreat stay was great. We got lucky with the unusually warm February Saturday and the place was better than we expected. Portable toilet was very clean. My wife & I were able to enjoy the picnic table and firepit until late as there’s no insects flying around. My wife love the wildlife she saw. Geese, duck, my wife saw a cormorant too. The shore is shallow and clean, not mucky. We really had a great time!

Great spot on the shore of Lake Elsinore! My son enjoyed fishing off the small pier. Campground is flat and convenient for tent and car. The host Ed was awesome. He answered every of my inquiries in a timely manner. We would definitely come back this spring or summer. We recommend this campsite for everyone who enjoys fishing, camping, or the mix. One warm advice is to bring EarPods if you need very quiet sleep, as the noise from the street at night was a little annoying.
