Depending on when you visit, we might be planting, pruning, harvesting, cloning, trimming, or some combination of those activities. We designed this experience to share our love of regenerative farming with others. Weekend Trip to Lost Coast
What a gem, hidden in the tiny hamlet of Petrolia! We stayed in the Garden Cabin which was a small cabin large enough only for a queen-sized bed, mini-fridge, and a couple of shelves for the tea kettle and some bowls. Very charming and perfect for a short stay especially when one has other activities to occupy the day. There is an outdoor shower and clawfoot bathtub with plenty of hot water, and an Adirondack loveseat with a propane fire (no wood fires allowed.)

this was an incredible spot. it’s tucked into the trees and right by a sweet creek, and very private from the rest of the rv park, which was quiet and peaceful the whole time we were there. it’s about an hour from the best redwood spots and incredibly reasonably priced. we’d recommend it to anyone car or tent camping!

The dreamiest coastal town of Trinidad nearby & such a surprise on our journey around California - we had never even heard of this town before & just happened to stop in for a day on our journey to the Redwoods, before making our way back home North Carolina. With the news being so dark & our husbands flying back home just two days before we made it here, we were a little on edge & just wanted to feel safe. We booked extremely last minute & Sean wasted no time preparing a place for us to stay for the night. Upon arriving at this campground, we were warmly welcomed by the sound of children riding bikes, grills being fired up, & scripture verses around every corner.. It didn’t take long for our nerves to settle & rest to kick in. God has a funny way of reminding us that He’s all around.

Friendly hosts and easy check in. Very nice little camper, in a pleasant setting. Tremendous value given how close this is to so many amazing sites along the coast. There are also multiple good local restaurants in Trinidad that we enjoyed.

Weekend Trip to Lost Coast
Dana and Dan have truly created a little slice of zen in Petrolia. Our stay in the cabin was idyllic and peaceful. We slept so soundly and comfortably in the cabin. Very comfortable bed and bedding! The beaches and landscape can only be described as EPIC. This was a perfrct place to sleep while exploring them. Sourdough boule and Jam is not to be missed— we ate every bit of it —and were so grateful for fruit and veg from the beautiful garden. Truly an off grid delight with all the creature comforts including hot water! This spot is truly special and intentional and we couldn’t be more grateful that Dana and Dan are willing to share it. It’s fueling our retirement dreams for sure. :)

Weekend Trip to Lost Coast
This was definitely the best Hipcamp experience I’ve had and if it had been an Airbnb, it would be one of the best Airbnb experiences I’ve had. I love VW buses and it was a great opportunity to sleep in one. But moreover, besides just the nostalgia of it, they made it feel very clean and cozy with great lighting and fun little amenities. The bedding in the bus was extremely comfortable and felt very clean, and I was able to read my book with the lighting they provided. And I stayed warm! Then there was a great outdoor kitchen and outdoor shower and out house. Everything was extremely well kept. The site sits on their private land right next to the village of Petrolia and it feels like absolute paradise. Dan cooks amazing sourdough bread and I highly recommend getting a loaf. We interacted primarily with his partner Dana, and she could not have been nicer. She met us when we arrived, even though we arrived quite late and showed us around. She gave us a farm tour the next day and let us pick vegetables and overall was just the kindest host. She is also a golf pro and teaches golf lessons and has built her own little golf course out there which was really cool. Can’t recommend this place enough. 15/10 stars!!

Weekend Trip to Lost Coast
Dana and Dan are extremely hospitable folks who have done an incredible job manicuring their land!! They are wonderfully gracious with their time and space. We stayed in the Garden Cabin and found it to be both comfortable and spacious. The effort they put into maintaining their property shines!!! We were fortunate to spend time with them in their beautifully productive garden, and were hosted for a short round of golf by Dana.
We are so grateful for our time spent in Petrolia with you! If you are looking in the area: this is THE place to spend your time at!!!

The Milk Shed was a cozy little spot on the lost coast. The hosts were helpful but not intrusive. The bed inside the old VW Bus was very comfortable. Would definitely recommend and hope to back and spend more time.

Weekend Trip to Lost Coast
This place was absolutely magical. So peaceful and well kept and the fresh bread and garden tour were a delight. Dana is a great host and clearly loves the land and space they provide. The road is a bit harrowing, but with good brakes (Dana’s tip) and good tires, any car could make it. And it’s worth the drive. Also take the directions to the beach for sunset- it is worth the short drive

This was a great and restorative place to stay. It was beautiful, clean, quiet, and the hosts were kind. It is close to a beautiful beach and the land itself is beautiful. Birds are chirping everywhere and gentle fog covers the trees. We bought bread from Dan and Dana and it was so good!! What a lovely place :)
