We breed milking goats and sheep, heritage pigs, and are in the process of converting to a grade A dairy and creamery! We use organic practices, management intensive rotational grazing, and dryland pasture management. We sell our animals locally so that others can have their own milking and meat animals. Our 110 year old hay barn and the roof of the former lumber mill were all we had to work with in getting off the ground.
Being first and foremost a functional farm, we can't help but offer a somewhat warts-and-all look into everything it takes to be working to our goals. Our hearts are, and always will be, educational and local community focused, and we work closely with farmers and friends alike in better understanding our innovative animal husbandry, power, pasture and water systems. Whenever we have time, we'll afford the same time and opportunities to interested hip-campers.
Our location is stunning and historic, and the beauty of the wild, natural landscape is powerful, yet offers easy access to both Yosemite Valley and the San Francisco Bay area. The area features excellent road and mountain biking in the immediate vicinity, vast access to hiking and backpacking trails, a huge variety of rock climbing in the area, the best whitewater rafting in California on the Tuolumne River, with some tasty places to eat or drink coffee in the nearby town of Groveland, just 10 minutes away.
Accommodations at the farm are certainly rustic, and private but not secluded, with occasionally heavily project-exploded shared kitchen and living space, showers, and airy flush toilets.
Do be advised that animals are pooping, hammers are hammering, sometimes we need to look into a health or animal injury related issue. Sometimes there is blood in an animal birth or slaughter, and our working guardian dogs have been known to be noisy some nights. Water and electricity are both very limited (though we reuse all our water), waste must be carefully sorted into a number of different categories, and there is always evidence of ump-teen projects unfolding at once. The most difficult condition during much of the summer are nuisance flies, which are always gone at night. We have almost no mosquitoes or ticks.
Depending on the exact situation and time of year, guests may have the opportunities to snuggle with baby animals and run our herd to or from pasture, and maybe even get their hands dirty picking veggies in the garden.

IAll wood inside: tongue-in-groove pine ceilings and walnut paneling, large wood-burning stove which has three flat places to cook. We offer a fully stocked kitchen with vintage pink and white formica counters and breakfast bar which seats four. Gas barbecue on the back deck. Dining on black resin-topped circular table made by designer of first chair-lift in Squaw Valley. Gigantic redwood wrap-around deck set up with comfy furniture, table and chairs to enjoy the bliss of Big Trees-Calaveras State Park. On the main floor there are two bedrooms: both with queen beds, a full bath with large bathtub/shower; in loft: one queen and one twin, and a 1/2 bath. Extra airbeds are located in the closet. Sofa is down filled. Retro decor with orange glass lamps, kilim rugs and down comforters on all beds. Vintage electric keyboard and full stereo system. Can sleep 7-8. You can enjoy weekend dinners at Snowflake lodge or make use of the

The store is open from 11am - 7pm. If you are arriving after 7pm you must call or message us to setup your arrival. Late check-ins are subject to a $25 fee to pay staff. Absolutely No arrivals past 8pm, you will be asked to leave. Setup is not allowed during quiet hours.
The ridge campsites are for 4x4 camper vans or pickup campers only. Rigs must be fully self sufficient with toilets onboard. There is no restroom on the ridge sites. You will not be allowed to camp on the ridge without 4x4 and an onboard toilet. The tent and RV campground is available for all guests.
***Please respect the land and leave no trace. Water is available at tent sites but electricity or sewer are not. Bathrooms, showers, and laundry are located about 300ft away. Bathrooms are BYOTP Bring your own Toilet Paper.***
Cellular service is extremely limited. AT&T and Verizon work in certain random spots. Wifi only works in the main area of the park. It does not work at the tent sites. Wifi passes are $5 and available as an add-on or inside the general store. It is good enough to make calls, text, receive email and get directions. It is not for streaming.
Quiet hours are 9pm to 7am. If you are we receive repeated complaints you will be asked to leave.
Campfires, charcoal bbqs, etc are prohibited due to high fire danger. Only gas / propane stoves are allowed.
We are very close to rainbow pools, which is a beautiful water fall and swimming pool.

The sofa bed in the main room can sleep one or maybe two small children, but there is not much room for additional luggage and the bathroom is accessible through the bedroom.
The private back patio is huge and is a perfect place to relax, bbq, sit under the trees and enjoy a glass of wine. There are even outdoor Bluetooth speakers to enjoy your favorite music! The bedroom has a new queen bed and a large closet to store your belongings. Nestled on a half acre, the rustic yard welcomes lots of deer and wildlife. In the fall and spring enjoy the outdoor fire pit with a relaxing bench swing. You will enjoy your stay and get some much needed peace and quiet in this cozy mountain hideaway!
We are pet friendly & happy to host your favorite house-trained 4-legged friend, (just 1 please) for an addl $50 pet fee. You will need to let us know if you have a dog when you book. Dog food and food/water bowls provided.
Guest access
Guests have access to the entire cabin. Guests also have year round access to the private Fly In Acres Lake, with sand volleyball courts and lifeguards. The lake has two docks a sandy beach and is the perfect place to play in the water or enjoy a little floating. The water stays much warmer than the chilly nearby rivers.

2 bedrooms, a primary with a king bed and a sleeper futon/sofa for smaller extra guests like younger kids. Second bedroom is semi-private (no door) has a twin trundle bed, a desk for any work or schoolwork needs. There is a sleeper sofa in the living room. Open living room, dining area, and kitchen. Close to downtown Twain Harte and all that it has to offer - summer music outdoors, restaurants, and shops. It is a short drive to Pinecrest Lake and Dodge Ridge. Come stay!
The space
This house has a primary bedroom with a king bed and a sleeper sofa/ futon (58" long). The second bedroom is semi-private (no door), but since it is across the house from the master, there is some privacy in that way. It has twin trundle beds and is near the second bathroom and right off the kitchen.
There's a large back deck for your enjoyment to take in the view of trees and eat outside under the shade umbrella, or to grill on the gas grill.
There are stairs to get down to the house, but once inside it is single level.
There’s Roku TV and a sound system that you can plug your phone into that’s very loud and good!
There is a new AC mini-split unit in the living room! Note: no AC in bedrooms

Other things to note
Please note there are stairs to get down to the house, in case you have mobility issues, but there are railings to hold onto. Once inside, there are no stairs!
Update: Newly installed AC in living room! In the summertime, this little cabin gets hot even with the evaporative cooler and fans. Hopefully, you are out frolicking during those hours, but please be prepared for the afternoon hours to be very warm. We recently purchased a portable evaporative cooler. You just need to add water to it and you can move it around to wherever you need to cool down.
Please note that the second bedroom is semi-private, so maybe more suited to kids or youth - though it is on the other side of the house from the primary bedroom which is private.

We breed milking goats and sheep, heritage pigs, and are in the process of converting to a grade A dairy and creamery! We use organic practices, management intensive rotational grazing, and dryland pasture management. We sell our animals locally so that others can have their own milking and meat animals. Our 110 year old hay barn and the roof of the former lumber mill were all we had to work with in getting off the ground.

Our hearts are, and always will be, educational and local community focused, and we work closely with farmers and friends alike in better understanding our innovative animal husbandry, power, pasture and water systems. Our location is stunning and historic, and the beauty of the wild, natural landscape is powerful, yet offers easy access to both Yosemite Valley and the San Francisco Bay area. The area features excellent road and mountain biking in the immediate vicinity, vast access to hiking and backpacking trails, a huge variety of rock climbing in the area, the best whitewater rafting in California on the Tuolumne River, with some tasty places to eat or drink coffee in the nearby town of Groveland, just 10 minutes away.
Accommodations at the farm are certainly rustic, and private but not secluded, with occasionally heavily project-exploded shared kitchen and living space, showers, and airy flush toilets.
Do be advised that animals are pooping, hammers are hammering, sometimes we need to look into a health or animal injury related issue. Sometimes there is blood in an animal birth or slaughter, and our working guardian dogs have been known to be noisy some nights. Water and electricity are both very limited (though we reuse all our water), waste must be carefully sorted into a number of different categories, and there is always evidence of ump-teen projects unfolding at once. The most difficult condition during much of the summer are nuisance flies, which are always gone at night. We have almost no mosquitoes or ticks.
Depending on the exact situation and time of year, guests may have the opportunities to snuggle with baby animals and run our herd to or from pasture, and maybe even get their hands dirty picking veggies in the garden.

The ridge campsites are for 4x4 camper vans or pickup campers only. Rigs must be fully self sufficient with toilets onboard. There is no restroom on the ridge sites. You will not be allowed to camp on the ridge without 4x4 and an onboard toilet. The tent and RV campground is available for all guests.
***Please respect the land and leave no trace. Water is available at tent sites but electricity or sewer are not. Bathrooms, showers, and laundry are located about 300ft away. Bathrooms are BYOTP Bring your own Toilet Paper.***
Cellular service is extremely limited. AT&T and Verizon work in certain random spots. Wifi only works in the main area of the park. It does not work at the tent sites. Wifi passes are $5 and available as an add-on or inside the general store. It is good enough to make calls, text, receive email and get directions. It is not for streaming.
Quiet hours are 9pm to 7am. If you are we receive repeated complaints you will be asked to leave.
Campfires, charcoal bbqs, etc are prohibited due to high fire danger. Only gas / propane stoves are allowed.

The sofa bed in the main room can sleep one or maybe two small children, but there is not much room for additional luggage and the bathroom is accessible through the bedroom.
The private back patio is huge and is a perfect place to relax, bbq, sit under the trees and enjoy a glass of wine. There are even outdoor Bluetooth speakers to enjoy your favorite music! The bedroom has a new queen bed and a large closet to store your belongings. Nestled on a half acre, the rustic yard welcomes lots of deer and wildlife. In the fall and spring enjoy the outdoor fire pit with a relaxing bench swing. You will enjoy your stay and get some much needed peace and quiet in this cozy mountain hideaway!
We are pet friendly & happy to host your favorite house-trained 4-legged friend, (just 1 please) for an addl $50 pet fee. You will need to let us know if you have a dog when you book. Dog food and food/water bowls provided.
Guest access
Guests have access to the entire cabin. Guests also have year round access to the private Fly In Acres Lake, with sand volleyball courts and lifeguards. 2 bedrooms, a primary with a king bed and a sleeper futon/sofa for smaller extra guests like younger kids. Second bedroom is semi-private (no door) has a twin trundle bed, a desk for any work or schoolwork needs. There is a sleeper sofa in the living room. Open living room, dining area, and kitchen. Close to downtown Twain Harte and all that it has to offer - summer music outdoors, restaurants, and shops. It is a short drive to Pinecrest Lake and Dodge Ridge. Come stay!
The space
This house has a primary bedroom with a king bed and a sleeper sofa/ futon (58" long). The second bedroom is semi-private (no door), but since it is across the house from the master, there is some privacy in that way. It has twin trundle beds and is near the second bathroom and right off the kitchen.
There's a large back deck for your enjoyment to take in the view of trees and eat outside under the shade umbrella, or to grill on the gas grill.
There are stairs to get down to the house, but once inside it is single level.
There’s Roku TV and a sound system that you can plug your phone into that’s very loud and good!
There is a new AC mini-split unit in the living room! Note: no AC in bedrooms

Other things to note
Please note there are stairs to get down to the house, in case you have mobility issues, but there are railings to hold onto. Once inside, there are no stairs!
Update: Newly installed AC in living room! In the summertime, this little cabin gets hot even with the evaporative cooler and fans. Hopefully, you are out frolicking during those hours, but please be prepared for the afternoon hours to be very warm. We recently purchased a portable evaporative cooler. You just need to add water to it and you can move it around to wherever you need to cool down.
Please note that the second bedroom is semi-private, so maybe more suited to kids or youth - though it is on the other side of the house from the primary bedroom which is private.

Beautiful, fun, great hospitality. Amazing spot for animal lovers! Jeremy is a super kind guy and great communicator. Lake access is killer, but solid incline on the hike back up to campsites. Might keep in mind for groups with accessibility needs, but otherwise a nice amount of exercise! Everything was as described or better. Highly recommend!

Cabin is awesome with mountain/lake view. Dogs are friendly and goats / chickens roaming around in Jeremy’s land. Awesome host! Thanks for the free fresh eggs from your chickens 😁

Weekend Trip to Wondernut Farm
We had an amazing stay at Wondernut. Matt and Eve were incredibly welcoming and friendly, and they truly made us feel at home. Having spent most of our lives in the city, this experience was especially inspiring. It felt like we were really living on a farm.
We saw many goats and their kids, along with pigs and chickens. Their guardian dogs were also very friendly and added to the charm of the place.
We highly recommend Wondernut, and thank you, Matt and Eve, for such a memorable weekend.

Weekend Trip to Sage
Everything here was really cool! Bobby was a great host and was very helpful. The cooking area was well stocked with lots of spices and ingredients. The cabin was very cozy and perfect for glamping. The shower facilities were nice and stocked. Also, Tanner (Bobby’s 2yr old Labrador) was an amazing Co-Host. There was also a little meditation area that was a nice place to sit at night with the string lights outside.

Group trip
The site was great! It was well equipped to host a group of childhood friends grown into adults. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cooking equipment. Although one of the burners on the 2 burner stove didn’t work very well. The shower, bathroom, and bunks were all appropriate and comfortable. Unfortunately we choose one of the coldest nights to go but we were able to keep warm. To our surprise there was no running hot water. Not a big issue but worth knowing. There was a limited supply of hot water in the RV. The BBQ pit was the star of our trip! The trail and the property were beautiful. If you’re looking to enjoy the sound of the river and the wilderness this is the place.

Weekend Trip to The Painted Lake
We loved staying in the tree house with incredible views of the lake and nice, cosy set up for 2 people. Jeremy went above and beyond in terms of making us comfortable providing fire wood, helping us to get to the lake side for kayaking and letting us pet the cutest ever puppies that live on the farm. We ate some good food in the town of Murphys and Jeremy’s recommendations of V bistro and vino moda were both excellent. Waking up to the birds chirping and superb view of the lake, foothills clouds from the lofted bed was a real pleasure. Cannot recommend more for a nice get away!!

My son and I absolutely loved the cabin and Jeremy’s land! It was beautiful set next to the late and the views were amazing. The cabin was super cozy and it was so nice to have extra amenities (sink, shower, kitchen) near by. We had so much fun going kayaking, playing with the different farm animals and dogs and eating fresh eggs from the chicken coop. The dogs were so friendly and one of them even stayed with us overnight which my son loved! We can’t wait to come back to this space. Jeremy was so kind, communicative and providing great ideas and suggestions for local places.

Upon arrival Mac was both accommodating and friendly and the instructions in his messages were exact as how to check in if you arrive late. The accommodations are just fine for anyone looking to stay out of the elements with a warm place (well insulated) to sleep and enough of a cushion on the bunks not to wake up with a bad back. We’ve stayed both in a tent in the summer and now in one of the tiny cabins. The simplest of amenities are appreciated if you want to warm something in the microwave or store anything indoors the small refrigerator as well as a toaster and coffee machine. Having a bathroom close by is also nice. This place is nice to stay away from all the crowds in the park and it’s only a 30 min or so drive to Yosemite gate. There’s a great place to eat right down the street called the Copper Pot run by Sarah and Brandon. Great food !!

We had a great stay at Matt and Eve’s! Everyone we met at the farm was kind and welcoming to us, and we enjoyed getting to experience a small slice of farm life. The cabin was clean, cozy, and warm. The property and surrounding area are very beautiful. We also really appreciated the design of the structures and clever use of secondhand materials. Hope to return someday soon!

Malaina was a super responsive, thoughtful and accommodating host! Absolutely a delight.
I've never slept in a more comfortable bed! The heater kept the space warm and cozy. The plush bathrobes and towels were a nice touch.
Just a shame we couldn't enjoy the property fully on our first day NYE (no fault of Malaina obviously). The heavy rain made it a pain to walk to the outhouse, use the kitchen area and sit by the fire pit. New Year's Day was perfect though and we welcomed the New Year with a nice, relaxing soak.
It is the perfect place to unwind, reflect, do minimal things (I did start to get a little stir crazy with the rain pounding on our roof). I'd recommend lots of reading materials, a lantern (one was provided) and more candles.

Weekend Trip to Wondernut Farm
Wondernut Farm is a perfect getaway. Everyone who lives here is super warm and welcoming. I loved hanging with all the animals, but my favorites were the sweet, smart doggies who roamed the property freely and joined on little hikes. The wood stove in the Overlook cabin was also my favorite - so cozy! And also the bed! Super comfortable and a marvelous view to wake up to too. ❤️

Where to go
River and Creek Arms
The very northern park of Lake Don Pedro is split between the Tuolumne River Arm and the Woods Creek Arm. The developed Moccasin Point Campground is on the eastern end, near highways 120 and 49, and offers tent and RV sites with full hookups, restrooms, showers, picnic tables, and BBQ grills. Dispersed shoreline camping can be found along both the Woods Creek Arm and Tuolumne River Arms, especially toward the extreme ends of the lake.
Upper Bay, Middle Bay, and East Bay
The Upper Bay, East Bay, and Middle Bay make up the central portion of Lake Don Pedro. The Wreck-Bay Boat-in Camp Area sits at the western end of the Upper Bay offering fire rings and vault toilets, while the Graveyard Creek Boat-in Camp Area is near Rock Island in the Middle Bay. Dispersed camping is also available at most of the shoreline in this region.
South Bay and West Bay
The southern end of Don Pedro Reservoir offers the most amenities for campers. At the western end, find tent and RV sites with electricity and water hookups at Blue Oaks Campground, also home to BBQ grills, restrooms, showers, a store, and a dump station. A nearby group campground has space for up to 200 people, and the Fleming Meadows Campground, near the visitor center and dam, also offers campsites with full amenities. Dispersed camping is available in certain actions of the southern and western shorelines.
