We are a small farm on a 1 acre gated property that has two RV spots and a bar shed. We have full hookups in both sites. Our town is rural but it's still close to HWY 101. We do live on the property, close enough if you need anything but far enough for privacy. We host happy hour for campers who are interested. Although the hours depend on arrival and our availability. We have a common area between the two sites that offered a nice fire pit. Our farm has 3 goats, 2 pot bellied pigs and 20 chickens that lay fresh eggs daily. We LOVE animals but we CANNOT ALLOW PETS. Also, sorry no tent camping. RV's only. We do not provide bathrooms or showers on site. Don’t have an RV? RENT OURS! We have everything you need for your family. Enjoy a weekend on the farm and glamp in our RV. We have all the amenities of home. Coming to enjoy the area? The property is just a few mins off the 101 freeway on the Central Coast. We are only 15 mins South of Pismo Beach, 30 mins south of San Luis Obispo and an hour North of Santa Barbara. The beach, wineries and shopping are all very close. Thanks to the micro climate we have here, we grow some of the best apples and stone fruit in the country. The coastal canyon is just a short distance to the beach and 15 minutes into town but feels like a world away when you are here. Just bring yourself and we have everything else!! Nestle up in the Cozy Gnome Home, a 1967 vintage trailer and listen to the symphony of frogs in the creek just outside your window. With love and labor... we gutted, redesigned and restored this little trailer for the ultimate functioning space for two. Detailed with a nice little kitchen with copper counters and everything you need for cooking and dining. A Berkey filter for clean water, hardwood floors and a comfy bed complete with organic latex mattress, down comforter and cotton sheets. Fold out dining table if you care to (or need to) eat indoors. There is also an outdoor kitchen space with a sink (no hot water), gas grill (upon request), propane burner (bring your own small canister) and a patio table and chairs. We have a charcoal grill available too. The creek runs mostly year round so feel free to get your feet wet on a hot sunny day. We also have an outdoor warm shower and sink as well. You are welcome to cruise the property and check out the chickens, ducks, goats and horses. We have three dogs on the ranch, a curious and playful ranch dog Pluto (who will be your tour guide), a Boston Bulldogge, Astrid and our newest pup, an American Hairless Terrier, Cozmo, silly little guy :) We are surrounded by orchards which have some of the best apples and pears in the country. There are several counter high prepping tables around the kitchen (please clean up your cooking essentials & food after each meal as everyone shares this space). Campfires - We are an ember free site year round due to wildfire risks & insurance purposes. 1948- On January 1, 1948 a wildcatter named George Hadley, who had been oil prospecting in the valley for 10 years, made the first oil strike in the Cuyama Valley. Richfield Oil Company soon moved in and extracted nearly 300 million barrels of oil in just a few short years. To accommodate an exploding workforce in the early 1950s, the company built the town of New Cuyama, its infrastructure, public buildings, the Cuyama airstrip (L88) and all the industrial structures that are now home to Blue Sky. Richfield Oil Company, later merging with Atlantic Oil Company forming the Atlantic Richfield Oil Company (ARCO), created high-paying jobs, a safe and prosperous community, and developed schools, churches, and recreational areas for the employee-residents.1973- With dwindling production in the area and new discoveries in Alaska, Atlantic-Richfield Oil Company put the town of New Cuyama and its associated infrastructure up for sale. Word of an entire town for sale made its way to entrepreneur, Russell O’Quinn of the Foundation for Airborne Relief (FAR) and Mildred Dotson, a wealthy widow from Tulsa, Oklahoma. The two worked together to acquire the townsite and adjacent land. O’Quinn, an aviator, inventor, and test pilot, aspired to use the New Cuyama airstrip and facilities as a base for humanitarian relief and a non-profit trade school. Though not fully realized, FAR’s primary vision included utilizing converted military aircraft to airlift food and medical supplies to developing countries and global disaster areas. Dotson had loftier goals. Her plans included an 18-hole fly-in golf course, expansion of the Buckhorn Restaurant and Motel, and a 40- to 50-acre lake for amphibious landing and water sports. 1986- Another visionary, Harry Kislevitz, inventor of the popular design tool Colorforms® and founder of Future City/Villages International, sought to develop the site as a “City of Friendship,” an all-electric village of 5,000 earthen homes. The dwellings were to be designed by Nader Khalili, an Iranian-born architect who specialized in earthen structures, worked with NASA on prototypes for lunar homes and received an award from the United Nations for his work towards the development of low cost, sustainable structures for human shelter in impoverished and disaster prone environments. One 628-sq-ft Khalili prototype remains on the property today ("the Cantina"). Khalili went on to form the California Institute for Earth Art and Architecture, Cal-Earth, in Hesperia, CA.1993- Recognizing the transformative potential of clean, solar power and the attractiveness of a rural destination, entrepreneur Mike Nolan worked to develop the Solar Skypark and Big Sky Guest Ranch with Santa Barbara Architect, Barry Berkus. The Sky Park included plans for sixty-five fly-in residences on one-acre lots powered completely from clean, solar energy. The Big Sky Guest Ranch was intended to function as a clubhouse for Skypark residents complete with an equestrian center, a small subsistence farm, pool and plenty of enriching recreational activities. 2012- At the end of 2011, the Zannon Family Foundation made a long-term investment in acquiring the New Cuyama Airport property with the vision of rehabilitating the site to be a low-cost resource for programs and organizations working to advance sustainable living practices and technologies. Plans began soon after towards developing a framework and organization to develop the space and coordinate with prospective programs and institutions. In 2014 Blue Sky Sustainable Living Center ("Blue Sky Center") received 501(c)(3) not-for-profit status, endeavoring to reclaim this property for the public good. Today, Blue Sky Center provides unduplicated services and technical assistance to support small businesses and entrepreneurs as well as the local food system, with core work focused on community research and advocacy led by Cuyamans. Gosh! Truly an amazing experience! It offers so many wonderful amenities, beautiful views, and an incredibly comfortable bed. The animals were absolutely adorable and added such a special touch to the stay. Nate is one of the best hosts. This place is a must-visit, and I can’t recommend it highly enough!

Super cute and exactly as shown. Adorable farm with things like eggs, jams, and vegetables you can buy. The trailer is very comfy and cozy with a working stove (though it can only be to one heat), and it has a cool little shower outside. Biggest complaint is that the porta-potties are very gross, but that is true for most porta-potties.

We were looking for a place to unwind and get away from our busy life. This place was perfect place to do so. Everything was there for us to pull up with a cooler of food. Sleeping was extremely comfortable and taking a hot shower was the cherry on top. Nate was extremely accommodating, friendly, and made checking in and out easy. The farm animals was a great touch. We will come back in the future. Thank you Nate for your hospitality.

A perfect getaway for relaxation and reflection. Breathtaking views. The silence of being up in the mountains. Stunning stary nights. Amanda is an amazing, welcoming and accommodating host. And they sell delicious meat from their farm!

Fire pit with chairs to enjoy in the evening, there is also a grill if you want to cook on that!

Amazing site with great amenities! The host, Nate, was extremely kind and went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable. The yurt was beautiful and we enjoyed soaking in the cowboy tub during the day. Will definitely be coming back again soon!

Our family of three had a great time staying in the airstream. I recommend arriving before night fall so you can enjoy the scenery on the way in and easily find the farm. The airstream itself was well appointed, clean, and comfortable. We didn't use the shower but everything else worked fine. The outdoor setup is lovely for hanging out and grilling. We loved waking up in the morning to check out the animals and flowers. Definitely recommend.

We loved having our own table and fire pit to enjoy at our campsite.

My little dog and I had a wonderful stay at Sierra and Darin’s beautiful property. Darin and Sierra are so friendly and welcoming. The vibe at the camp is chill and feel-good. Location is amazing—quick drive to Santa Barbara and also to Santa Ynez Valley wine country. We will definitely be back.

2 nights at Creekside Glamping in the Canyon

We had such a great time with our 3 year old. First of all Pluto was so integral to this stay- he is so chill, smart, and sweet. He loved being petted, following us around, and catching sticks and toys- he can get some air! He reminded us of our dog that passed away. Our son asked if we could bring Pluto home :). Everything was available- an outdoor loo, warm shower, kitchen essentials, and a warm trailer to sleep in. There is an assistant on site Monday through Thursday who can help with anything you need. It was a very open space that provides that secluded feeling but close enough to stores and places. it provided the escape we needed for two nights. thank you again for making this available. We will definitely be back.

Weekend Trip to Dare 2 Dream Farms

Wonderful stay. Trailer is cozy and vintage! Really cozy spot on site with bathrooms and outdoor shower. Arrived late and didn't know exactly that I had to turn on water and gas to get those working. It was pretty self-explanatory but a bit more guidance would have been helpful. Farm is wonderful. Cows walking around. Dogs roaming around (all super duper nice). Pigs and piglets! Chickens, roosters. And trailer is positioned a decent distance away from the roosters so we didn't find them super loud in the morning. It is near Vandenberg Space Force base and found that very alarming when an aircraft flew overhead and created quite the stir in the trailer in the morning. Farm has an honor's-system pay for what you take farmstand too and that is quite lovely. Getting super fresh sweat peas and wonderful fresh eggs. Lovely fire pit and string lighting area outside trailer. Hosts were kind and allowed us a late checkout. Highly recommend. Would have loved to stay and hang more. And would love to go back sometime.
