SLO Country Camp was once a part of the Serpa Ranch, one of the early ranches of the Central Coast. It’s remained a beautiful rural pocket in the Edna Valley area of San Luis Obispo. It’s quiet and peaceful, enjoy your morning coffee listening to all the birds waking up. There’s a private creek not far away that draws deer and wildlife. Just saw 3 deer run through out property 2 days ago. Owls, red tail hawks, eagles, squirrels and jack rabbits we see frequently. And you can listen to the coyotes howling at night. We’re surrounded by rolling coastal hills, vineyards, horses, cattle and also land apportioned to the Land Conservancy. Walk down our road and then left up to the top of the hill for a panoramic view of the entire area with the city San Luis Obispo at a distance.
Our two sites are flat on decomposed granite pads. Both have excellent views and easy access to our common areas: big sink and counter, and a cold-water outdoor "beach-type" shower. Firewood is available for purchase at camp for those wanting to use the fire pit, or you can bring your own.
The San Luis Obispo, Central Coast has so much to see and do! Hiking trails abound, our favorites are Bob Jones trail to walk or bike to Avila Beach, Johnson Ranch and Irish Hills for hiking hills, the Ridge trail for a view over Shell and Avila beaches, and the Harmony Trail to walk grassy cliffs by the ocean. Montano de Oro is only 15 minutes away with rocky ocean cliff trails that lead down to the coastline.
We are 5 minutes from the beginning of the Edna Valley winery trail with 30 wineries or more I’ve lost count. Tasting and relaxing in great atmospheres. Our favorites are Biddle Ranch, Talley, Mailene, Chamisal, Bailyanna... but there are so many more. We’re 10 minutes from downtown San Luis Obispo, 10–12 minutes to Avila or Pismo beaches. Morro Bay is 25 minutes. And we’re just 5 minutes off the 101 for easy access to traveling. The Central Coast has almost everything for fun, adventure and food. Surfing, biking, hiking, ocean kayaking, paddle boarding, golf, wine and beer culture, ranch lands, shopping and restaurants and we’re close to it all.

With love and labor... we gutted, redesigned and restored this little trailer for the ultimate functioning space for two. Detailed with a nice little kitchen with copper counters and everything you need for cooking and dining.
A Berkey filter for clean water, hardwood floors and a comfy bed complete with organic latex mattress, down comforter and cotton sheets.
Fold out dining table if you care to (or need to) eat indoors.
There is also an outdoor kitchen space with a sink (no hot water), gas grill (upon request), propane burner (bring your own small canister) and a patio table and chairs. We have a charcoal grill available too.
The creek runs mostly year round so feel free to get your feet wet on a hot sunny day.
We also have an outdoor warm shower and sink as well.
You are welcome to cruise the property and check out the chickens, ducks, goats and horses.
We have three dogs on the ranch, a curious and playful ranch dog Pluto (who will be your tour guide), a Boston Bulldogge, Astrid and our newest pup, an American Hairless Terrier, Cozmo, silly little guy :)
We are surrounded by orchards which have some of the best apples and pears in the country.
Seasonally you can stop by many apple markets and do a tasting. We also have a lively wine tasting venue less than a mile away.

In 1881 my family purchased this property. It's home to abundant wildlife, our cattle herd and minutes away from the Los Padres National Forest. The area has a rich history, of gold and silver mining and bank robbers. Jesse and Frank James lived at the nearby La Panza Ranch while nursing gunshot wounds.
We are a short drive from Pozo Road, where you will find yourself nestled under an oak amongst the season's vegetation. Abundant wildlife in the camp area with pigs, coyotes and Tule elk residing in the mountains on the property. Seasonal birds, wildflowers and cattle grazing.
Hike, bike or just relax on the property and enjoy the star gazing that comes without the city lights. It's just a few minutes down the road to the Los Padres National Forrest but at least 45 minutes to the closest town.
If you bring your dirt bikes or ATVs you'll need to enjoy them only while on the forest property. We enjoy our wildlife and work to protect it with rotational cattle grazing. The property has been in the family since 1881; remnants of past farming and livestock operations are ever-present.

The weather at Highlands Ranch is more like the inland Atascadero side hot in the summer months and cold in the winter months.
We have 4 terraced, no hook up, spots available all of which can accommodate 2 or 4 wheel drive camper vans, trucks or cars.
One of the sites can be used for fifth wheel, small motorhome or multiple camper type vehicles and of course tents can be set up on all sites. Sites range from small to extra large, that are quaintly studded with oak trees and native greenery for a peaceful camp off the road.
Also, from our sites available, there is only a 5 minute walk to the local, off the beaten path, restaurant called the Half Way Station (great food, beer/ wine, sweets and live music) open Thursday through Sunday, which you can find on Facebook or Instagram.

Come spend the night under the stars at our Grant Line camp site and event center. The Grant Line campsite is situated right next to an original 1840’s Spanish Land Grant boundary line, which is intersected by Forest Route 11N01. The grant has since been divided, but large pieces of land still remain, mostly inhabited by mountainous wildlife, ground squirrels, rabbits, coyotes and cattle. This area is also rich in Chumash history. Million-dollar views of the Caliente Mountain Range await you for evening sunsets and the Sierra Madre Mountain Range await you for your morning coffee enjoyment. Don't miss the brilliance of the famous Cottonwood Canyon Wildflowers with your front row seat. For your comfort, there is a 16x20 rustic-style shade structure (which has also been used for a dance floor!), water spigot, fire pit, small BBQ, and an outhouse. We have oak firewood available for purchase and a larger BBQ capable of cooking for 200+ guests available for rent, if needed. Beautiful property! The directions were spot-on, and the photos were very helpful. I had no trouble finding the ranch. The road up is steep, but if you’re comfortable driving on mountain roads, it’s easy to navigate. The gate is a little tricky—and heavy—but I didn’t have any real trouble with it.
The Puri site was lovely, shaded by large trees and spacious enough for both my large tent and a separate changing tent. There’s also a water spigot at the site, which was a very nice surprise!
Privacy may be limited if other campers are present. The neighboring site is close enough that you can hear the other campers, although both nights were quiet after 9 p.m. Puri is also directly alongside the road, but the only passing vehicles belong to campers staying at the upper site, so traffic was minimal. Just be careful if you have pets off leash.
One final tip: don’t drive your tent stakes too deeply! I had the unfortunate luck of hitting an underground ant colony—or one of their tunnels—and ended up with biting ants everywhere. Definitely not the camping adventure I had planned! The ants were in no way a reflection of the owners or the property, and the owners were incredibly understanding. In fact, they were so kind and accommodating that I’ve already booked another stay. Aside from that memorable mishap, the site itself was beautiful and very comfortable.

This is a nice spot with a couple of extra amenities that make camping a little easier, like a porta-potti and a cold water shower. There were fire pits and running water. Also a sink where you could do dishes if you need it to. We arrived late and can met us to give us a rundown. Ken was very nice and offered support should we need anything, although we didn't.
There are two spots available. We were in spot 2 and some folks arrived late like we did into spot one. They had a camper like we did with an also had somebody set up a small tent, so tents work here as well. The two spots are close together but not so close that you are on top of each other.
I would recommend this to others.

We spent a beautiful two nights here. We experienced lovely sunrises over the Rolling Hills and enjoyed Starry Nights. My tour of the property and feeding the animals with Olwyn was the highlight of my trip. They all have a name, a story and are so well taken care of and loved. The Host: Ken and Judi are exceptionally welcoming, communicative, and prompt. Any questions we had prior to arrival and during our stay were answered right away. You can really tell they care about their guests having a great time.

This spot was excellent. We needed a last minute stay and Karina & Chris came through. The location we picked had quite possibly the best view for miles. The vista for sunset viewing was also quite awesome.

2 nights at Dare 2 Dream Farms
Great spot with animals all around and trees on both sides of the property, making it quiet and peaceful. The camper is the perfect size for one or two people. The outdoor shower has hot water, an open top, and good privacy walls. The sink is conveniently built into the shower area. The latrine is on the other side of the property, far enough away that you hardly notice it.
Overall, it’s a great little spot—quiet, comfortable, and close enough to town to be convenient. I was very happy with my stay.

This was a very neat camp site, there’s a spot for your car and a little path to a private area to set up your tent that sort of overlooks a valley. There’s a picnic table as well as firewood and a fire extinguisher. I think there’s a bathroom somewhere but I never found it as I got busy once I realized I dropped my car key somewhere in the millions of rocks at sunset with an almost dead phone and only discovered it once I got to the top of the steep “hill” and had an entire spiritual event trying to find it (I was alone and car camping lol). We had such a pleasant and peaceful stay! We would definitely book again. The shopping center on the way to the property was a huge plus—we were able to stop and grab a tarp that we had forgotten, which was super convenient.
The drive to the site was very easy, and once we arrived, we loved the peaceful setting next to the pond. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the surroundings.

We cannot say enough great things about this Hipcamp, the farm and the host. She was so generous with her time and pets, we feel so fortunate to have experienced such a magical experience. The site was very private, looking out at the neighbors vineyard, and the charming red farm houses where her sweet goats live. She has over 70 animals, so it is a child's dream. My girls left feeling so inspired for their own farm with the same animals. She helped educate us as well on their breeds and what a different perspective can be had when raising these animals as pets. Very loving and compassionate people. Thank you so much for your kindness. We would love to return! Book this site, you won't regret it! Water and electricity worked great as well. Close to SLO and we went to Avila beach as well.

We had a fantastic weekend at Freedog Farms! Sierra & Darin are the best hosts—they immediately make you feel welcome and part of their tribe. The campsites are spread throughout their beautiful property, so you can enjoy plenty of peace and quiet when you want it, or gather around the bonfire or head to the speakeasy when you’re feeling more social.
We saw campers of all ages, from families with toddlers to retirees—there truly is a spot for everyone. We can’t wait to return to Sierra & Darin’s little slice of heaven in beautiful wine country!
