If you are looking for man made and leveled campsites, then this is not your basecamp. This land is a gorgeous 20 acres that means a lot to us.  It's space to find your peace of mind and pitch a tent or hammock, as you would when hiking the backcountry.  Aside from complimentary ice water, potty, shower, soaps, sanitizer, sunscreen, first aid, communal fire pit, wood stove and dishwashing area) this is not "glamping".  If you are  a person who appreciates nature and making due with what the land has provided, then we are a great fit. Guests have 20 acres to find a secluded, or socially distanced spot to pitch camp. This is for people that know how to camp in the backcountry -  Without a trash can, who don’t leave cigarette butts, respect the land and would rather not be sectioned off. Flat areas are all over if you explore, and use your feet to brush aside rocks and twigs, to lay down a tent base, as we do every time we camp in the backcountry. The geography of these mountains is just that, hills and mountains. The vista at the top of the property is gorgeous and easily camps 5 tents spaced out. The property does offer many other great camping areas, and I’m more than happy to point them out. Yosemite is 30 minutes away, Don Pedro lake is 30 minutes, Cherry Lake is 30 minutes, Preston falls and Carlon falls are both 30 min away.  Downtown Groveland Is 7 minutes away, and other historic towns are not too far.  Close to many swimming holes. Rainbow pools is 15 minutes away. 10 min from the local grocery store and other local shops. Base Camp is just off of highway 120. At River Ranch Campgrounds, Tuolumne, CA we offer a range of activities to make your stay enjoyable. After a long day of exploration, come back to the campgrounds and relax by the firepit or enjoy a picnic in one of our many picnic areas. Activities in the campground include horseshoes, sand volleyball, sandbox for the kiddos and frisbee golf for all. We pride ourselves on blending nature and family camping in a safe, serene environment. We have one bathhouse with flushing toilets and heated showers; additional portables and vault toilets are located throughout the campground for convenience. Important notes: We are off-grid. There is no electricity in the campground with exception of a small solar powered system to operate our entry gate, guest Wi-Fi and intercom. Outlets are not available for guest use. All water is labeled non-potable. Guests may purify/filter at their discretion. Our campground is home to wildlife. You can minimize unwanted encounters by properly storing food and garbage. We have one central bathhouse with 3 flushing toilets. Sites vary in distance from a short walk to a short drive. The bathhouse has 4 shower stalls in the rear of the building. The bathhouse is closed from 10pm to 8am. The bathhouse does not have electricity or interior lighting. Our Hacienda section ("H" Sites) has vault toilets. Portables are located throughout the campground for your convenience. There is minimal privacy from other campers due to the placement of the sites and the way our trees and vegetation is trimmed for fire resistance. All guests and vehicles must be registered upon arrival.

The Lost Dutchman Italian Bar Camp is a 160 acres of Priviately Owned Patented Mining land and our priviate campground located in the Stanislaus National Forest and on the South Fork of the Stanislaus River, which runs through the camp. Camping is available on both side of the river making the Italian Bar camp a destination for campers since we rebuilt the camp from the ground up in the late 1970’s. Until over a hundred years later, In 1976 when our founder fell in love with this remote property and purchased the land and we began rebuilding the I-Bar camp from the ground up and opened it to our members. It didn't hurt that somewhere close by Our founder found a 800oz pocket of gold. Even today, Prospecting for gold is encouraged! If you want to try your hand at “Gettin on some of the shiny” let the Caretakers know! We have a few gold pans we loan out that are just waiting for some color to make you smile. Of course we have pans for sale. If you’re an avid outdoors person, carrying a gold pan with you just makes sense. If you are looking for man made and leveled campsites, then this is not your basecamp. This land is a gorgeous 20 acres that means a lot to us.  It's space to find your peace of mind and pitch a tent or hammock, as you would when hiking the backcountry.  Aside from complimentary ice water, potty, shower, soaps, sanitizer, sunscreen, first aid, communal fire pit, wood stove and dishwashing area) this is not "glamping".  If you are  a person who appreciates nature and making due with what the land has provided, then we are a great fit. Guests have 20 acres to find a secluded, or socially distanced spot to pitch camp. This is for people that know how to camp in the backcountry -  Without a trash can, who don’t leave cigarette butts, respect the land and would rather not be sectioned off. Flat areas are all over if you explore, and use your feet to brush aside rocks and twigs, to lay down a tent base, as we do every time we camp in the backcountry. The geography of these mountains is just that, hills and mountains. The vista at the top of the property is gorgeous and easily camps 5 tents spaced out. The property does offer many other great camping areas, and I’m more than happy to point them out. Yosemite is 30 minutes away, Don Pedro lake is 30 minutes, Cherry Lake is 30 minutes, Preston falls and Carlon falls are both 30 min away.  Downtown Groveland Is 7 minutes away, and other historic towns are not too far.  Close to many swimming holes. Rainbow pools is 15 minutes away. 10 min from the local grocery store and other local shops. Base Camp is just off of highway 120. We have one bathhouse with flushing toilets and heated showers; additional portables and vault toilets are located throughout the campground for convenience. Important notes: We are off-grid. There is no electricity in the campground with exception of a small solar powered system to operate our entry gate, guest Wi-Fi and intercom. Outlets are not available for guest use. All water is labeled non-potable. Guests may purify/filter at their discretion. Our campground is home to wildlife. You can minimize unwanted encounters by properly storing food and garbage. We have one central bathhouse with 3 flushing toilets. Sites vary in distance from a short walk to a short drive. The bathhouse has 4 shower stalls in the rear of the building. The bathhouse is closed from 10pm to 8am. The bathhouse does not have electricity or interior lighting. Our Hacienda section ("H" Sites) has vault toilets. Portables are located throughout the campground for your convenience. There is minimal privacy from other campers due to the placement of the sites and the way our trees and vegetation is trimmed for fire resistance. The Lost Dutchman Italian Bar Camp is a 160 acres of Priviately Owned Patented Mining land and our priviate campground located in the Stanislaus National Forest and on the South Fork of the Stanislaus River, which runs through the camp. It didn't hurt that somewhere close by Our founder found a 800oz pocket of gold. Even today, Prospecting for gold is encouraged! Terrain can be steep, rocks near the creek are often slick, and nights are very dark. Campers should be prepared for off grid camping and up for adventure!

We took our 20ft travel trailer in Feb (it is baja edition, so it can handle terrain). The space was perfect! Our dogs loved to play in the gentle stream that runs right beside the campsite. My 8 y/o daughter loved to climb the tree house. The host even had fire wood prepared for us in the fire ring. Thank you host! We’ll definitely be back when more snow comes.

Very beautiful piece of property, perfect for an overnighter or multiple days. The directions are very self explanatory. We arrived at night in pitch black and still found it easy. Wood was provided even though we did not purchase it, which we very much appreciated! The site is right on the creek. Very beautiful. There is power via extension cord and a good house for dishes etc. As well a bathroom shower. Host and neighbors are very nice. Definitely will be bad. My daughter, wife and I loved it here.

Stayed here for my daughter’s birthday trip to Yosemite. We spent the day hiking and came back here to sleep. It was too cold for a tent so camped out in the car. Was a great campsite, very clean and quiet. We especially enjoyed all of the cows.

Great spot very secluded and it was a beautiful wake up too. The cows were a nice touch as well. I really loved the designated camp fires too.

Weekend Trip to Hidden Falls Yosemite Camp

This was such a beautiful spot to camp near Yosemite! About 30 minutes away from Mariposa Grove and the southern entrance of the park. Sounds of the river with the fire pit made the stay super relaxing.

Highly recommend this spot if you love quiet, secluded camping. The host, Jarrett, was really friendly and helpful. He greeted us when we got there and gave us a run down of everything we needed to know for our stay. The hill top view of the sunrise and sunset was beyond beautiful. Looking forward to staying here again for our next trip to Yosemite!

Weekend Trip to Yosemite Westlake Camp

Great spot for van camping. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked and camp site was not crowded for our Yosemite trip. There’s a neighborhood dog that was adorable! The campground is part of a permanent neighborhood with folks who live in homes surrounding the campsite. If you’re looking for something private and secluded this may not be your spot; it was good experience for us!

Very simple and easy process. Jeremy is the real MVP for a lot of awesome reasons. The property is gorgeous and the dogs are so friendly! Plus theres a LOT of dry wood to burn so we didnt have to bring our own. It was exactly what we needed.

3 nights at Little Piece of Yosemite

Sleeping in my tent on a deck built into a granite boulder overlooking a babbling creek - the ultimate sound machine for zzz’s - was every bit the experience I imagined it would be! And the outside tub was clutch at the end of a long day exploring Yosemite in its winter majesty. The hottest water (and plenty more when you need to heat it back up.. you won’t want to get out, ha!) felt amazing under the stars! So special. Definitely coming back.. Besutful property, otherwise, as well. Tucked back in an obviously upper class neighborhood, so I felt very safe, and truthfully lucky to have what I did so close to the park!
