There is a fishpond with water lilies, mini golf course and pétanque court (both with equipment in a useful shed close by), a horse shoe ring and beautiful, natural secluded spots in the redwoods perfect for meditation and vision questing. Huckleberry bushes and ferns grow abundantly. The place lends itself to self-reflection and introspection. There is space for 1 RV with a patio table and chairs and some sun loungers. There are also 2 tent sites available on the property, located in one large area, further away from the RV sites. Barely 7 minutes away is downtown Gualala, with amenities such as 2 supermarkets, pharmacy, bakery, restaurants and more. There is a beautiful holistic gift store, The Sea Trader, Four Eyed Frog Bookstore, and some lovely art galleries in town. Kayaking is available at the Gualala River. Hiking at Gualala Regional Park, the Bluff Trail, The Sea Ranch public access beaches, Stump Beach, Salt Point Park with a petrified forest, Bowling Ball Beach with its amazing natural formations (can only be seen fully at low tide of more than -0.2m), Manchester State Beach, Elk Beach, and more. Swimming at the Navarro River, and various bays. It is a place of incredible scenic beauty all along CA 1. Watch whales spouting during whale season. (Gray whales and orcas is December to May. Anchor Bay is 5 miles up CA 1, with a supermarket, a few cafes, restaurants (including a great Thai place!) laundromat, hair salon, and more. The quaint town of Point Arena is 12 miles north, with a supermarket, Frannie's Cup And Saucer, The Bird Cafe, a beautiful historic lighthouse, a theater, a pier, a mini-safari park (B Bryan Preserve with zebras, giraffes and more. Tours need to be booked in advance). Also visit Roots, a natural pharmacy for herbs, teas and supplements. There are also spots like Occidental, Bodega Bay, Jenner (with the Russian River to kayak and swim) and Timber Cove, all on the way to Gualala from the south. Bodega Bay has lovely spots to eat, with clam chowder, fish and chips. Enjoy wind and water sports, and walk on the pier.

I had a lovely, cozy stay at Bon's cabin. The location is perfect - 10 mins from Elk, 20 mins to Mendocino village, 25 mins to Philo - and the drive is stunning. The cabin itself is incredibly private and cozy with all the amenities, from a full kitchen, to an equipped bathroom, to comfy beds. Then there's the outdoor tub (!!!), wood-fired sauna, and pizza oven. Though Bon has provided space heaters, one of my favorite parts of my stay was keeping the cabin nice and warm with the wood stove. Truly a perfect fall getaway, I can't wait to come back!

Great location amongst the trees but only minutes from town. The room, showers and bathrooms were super clean. The outdoor shower and hot tub were so very nice, soaking at night below the stars doesn’t get much better. Everything about this was a 10/10, communication and directions were spot on. Didn’t get to meet Veena and David but highly recommend their place and will definitely stay again when in the area.

Also I 10/10 recommend showering at night because you can see the stars above you the entire time. I would definitely stay here again.

This funky little cabin in the forest was just what I needed. I spent most of my time lounging on the outside bed, and soaking in the tub. The Huckleberries are abundant, and the beach is a short drive 10-15 minutes. What a perfect combination of nature and modern convenience. Highly recommend!

Kirsten and Evan were fantastic hosts and have such a beautiful farm where we were able to explore and enjoy all of the beautiful flowers, fruit trees, river spot and so much more. Good Things Farm is a truly magical place to say. Kirsten and Evan have created a truly magical little haven! They are extremely gracious and kind hosts! My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights and really enjoyed the space. We had intended to use this as just a home base to explore Fort Bragg and Mendocino on a long weekend, but honestly we found that staying at the farm was the probably the main experience in itself. We really enjoyed the bikes that were provided with easy access to the leisurely coastal trail around the town. Mendocino is also only a short drive away (30 mins) and has gorgeous beach views. But what really made the experience so great was just staying on the farm. It's like having private access to a botanical garden! The hot outdoor shower was also a to die for experience. Two shower heads!!! If you are looking for the glamping experience than this has to be the best it can ever get! Also be sure to visit the farm box out front! Lots of really affordable and delicious fruits, meats, snacks, etc.

Make sure to visit the farm box for flowers and delicious goodies. The pesto is so good! Just book a visit and you will see how idyllic Good Things Farm is!

What a magical place to relax and restore your soul. Kristen and Evan have created the perfect little cozy yurt experience. It was so beautiful, we had everything we needed, and Kristen and Evan were such kind and helpful hosts. The outdoor shower was invigorating and we loved being able to see the trees! It was so wonderful to watch the sun come up and cast glowing light on the trees from our bed in the morning while sipping on a cup of coffee. We added the fire wood and flower picking experiences to our stay and it was truly the "cherry on top." Sitting under the stars while enjoying a crackling fire was so nice and wandering around the garden in the morning was absolutely the best, I can't describe how fun it was to walk amongst the flowers and make a bouquet! I highly recommend making Kristen and Evan's yurt your home for the weekend!!! It was truly an unforgettable experience that I will treasure forever!

6 nights at Navarro Ridge Retreat

Absolutely magical. We stayed at Brandon’s Hipcamp property for 6 days with a group of 9 (including 2 kids, 2 teens, and 3 dogs), and it was nothing short of amazing. The property is spacious, peaceful, and perfectly secluded—exactly what we needed for a true digital detox. The views are stunning, the air is fresh, and the quiet is the kind that resets your soul. Our group—rambunctious and varied as it is—felt completely at home. The kids had space to roam and explore, the teens found their own pockets of peace, and the dogs were in heaven. It’s rare to find a place that feels this welcoming to both kids and pets. The hot tub was a favorite—especially in the evenings when the stars came out and the only sound was the wind through the trees. Pure bliss. Brandon went above and beyond, not only helping us pre-shop for groceries (including the most delicious farm-fresh eggs we’ve ever had), but also cooking a multi-course dinner that everyone—from picky eaters to foodies—raved about. His stories and knowledge of the property’s history added so much depth to our experience. We came looking for a retreat and left feeling refreshed, connected, and already dreaming about our return. If you’re looking for a quiet, beautiful, family- and dog-friendly escape with a host who truly cares—this is the spot.

4 nights at Coastal Ridge Cabin

(Mid July stay) The home is incredibly unique and sits on a great piece of property with trails and a ton of activity focused inclusions. This is not a traditional home or AirBNB but rather keeps a more "off grid" vibe, with eclectic designs and features, such as river stone in the shower floor and an awesome outdoor wood-fired sauna. To fully enjoy the amenities and layout, the home is best suited for a couple (2 people) rather than a group, so keep that in mind when booking. The secondary outdoor sleeping space is an awesome feature (when the weather cooperates) as well as the outdoor shower and bathtub (the home has a full indoor bathroom). Bon is a great communicator when you need assistance with property questions and keeps a lot of additional items on hand that would not otherwise be included at most places. Would highly recommend this secluded property as a gritty yet homey retreat for those looking for something different.
