1 night at Hidden Falls Yosemite Camp

This spot was amazing—peaceful, spacious, and truly secluded. We had a huge area all to ourselves, with a beautiful view of the creek below and small waterfalls in the distance. It felt like our own private retreat just outside of Yosemite. A perfect place to unwind after exploring the park. Highly recommend if you're looking for quiet and nature-filled camping!

2 nights at Musick Creek Falls

We loved tent camping at Shandies and Jesses incredible land!Shandie was very welcoming and gave us a quick run down of the land and some direction. We camped with kids.The campsite is a little at an incline but level in some areas mostly dirt. We had a 6 person and a 4 person tent.I would say it fit two 4 person tents or just the 6 person for this site. there was a picnic table covered by a netted gazebo with a lantern which was nice because we didn’t bring ours. Shandie let us use two umbrellas for a little more shade.The site wasn’t too big but definitely enough room for the 5 of us.They provide a delicious fresh spring tap! We followed a recommended path down our campsite to a beautiful waterfall and natural pools. The scenery and energy of the land was just intoxicating.The natural pools and waterfalls really help you appreciate such a simple pleasure. We saw fish, a turtle, a tiny little green snake and beautiful butterflies/dragonflies.The rocks can be very slippery! We all took precautions but still all fell with water shoes lol.The experience was unforgettable we stayed two nights and the weather was bearable.The day heats up quick but the water and little shaded areas near trees are very refreshing we had a little breeze at times.The night sky was dark and lit with stars!It was beautiful.the sunsets are unforgettable and my kids are already planning a trip to come back next year we want to try out a different site.There’s two fire pits on this site &clean outhouse.

Super awesome creek!! The watering hole was so refreshing on a summer day. Christian was an amazing host as well, our truck got stuck in a ditch and he was right there to pull us out! Overall amazing campsite and stay.

This spot is amazing!!! It offers more than great views: there’s three seating areas, two tables, a fire pit, firewood for sale, and—oh yeah—waterfalls with pools!!! Perfection! Great host, great site, great weekend. Definitely coming back!

I absolutely ADORED this stunning gem. We went during the week days and it was so quiet and peaceful. The lower falls site was set up with a gazebo over the table which was awesome to have for shade while cooking when the sun was high. There was a sky deck with a little table and chairs to enjoy a little romantic dinner while watching the sunset. The stars were INCREDIBLE. There’s no shortage of trails and pools to explore along the creek and the abundance of wildflowers all around was amazing. We didn’t get a chance to check out shaver lake because we just loved being at camp so much, but we definitely will be back and will be sure to check it out next time. The town was super cute and just a short drive away for supplies runs. I honestly loved the composting toilet/outhouse. Haha. It was private and stayed cool even during the hottest time of day and was impressively clean. Shandie was an amazing host and absolutely wonderful to talk to. She greeted us shortly after we arrived to give us the run down and shopped some wood for us. Any questions we had before/during our visit were promptly answered. You can tell how much time and care they have put into creating this beautiful getaway and I’m so thankful I got to experience it. I cannot recommend it enough and I will absolutely be coming back.. like. A lot. Haha.

5 nights at Red Dragonfly Ranch

Such a great property! We felt right at home from the minute we showed up. The chickens ran down the hill to greet us as soon as we got out of the car, which was a nice surprise! Our fire pit was waiting for us, the string lights were hung all around our site. All we had to do was set up the tent and we were all set. The port-a-potty’s were fresh and clean, I thought the sink with running water was a huge plus! The showers were incredible! Hotter water than I get at my own house lol We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect spot. We found an amazing breakfast spot just up the road at Priest Station, right on the way to Yosemite. We took the drive to Yosemite every day, it really wasn’t a bad drive. Only about 40 min to the park, and then further to the valley and other sites. I would recommend this ranch to anyone, and can’t wait to go back! Thank you Lily!

3 nights at Hidden Falls Yosemite Camp

We loved our stay at Hudson’s + Wendy’s campsite and would recommend it to any of our friends. Getting there: This is a private campsite nestled in between properties. You will need to take a private road with a few switchbacks to get to the site while passing by a few houses. You will pass by Rena’s house(there may be boxes/trash on the side) and she is an incredible person to get to know during your stay if you enjoy talking to people. She gave us local recommendations and after our car battery died, offered to help us if we needed it. Although this may not impact everyone - the house right before the last switchback you must pass to get to the site has a Trump flag, which made us feel uneasy but we never ran into them directly. During the stay: The setup includes a working hose with water, 1 extension cord with electricity and access to a shed with a toilet + biodegradable bags. They also offer a bathroom + shower if you take the small walk up to their property located in a private area. All of those things made our stay comfortable and Rena(the neighbor) really made us feel safe at night after getting to know her. There’s also a beautiful waterfall + creek running right behind the camp site that too. Preparing for the trip: We used our 2023 Nissan Pathfinder for this one and if I had a longer car, I would’ve been hesitant to drive it down myself because the turns are sharp. If you have a car low to the ground it’s doable but it may scuff the bottom cover.

Awesome place incredible hosts. Jesse and Shandie are the bomb. They make you feel like family and are so darn accommodating. There property is unreal it’s like place out of a story book. Waterfalls, hiking, exploring. Etc. They have camping equipment if need be just ask. Firewood is on site. Shaver lake is right up the road. they will even accommodate you with kayaks to explore the lake. Definitely going again 5 out of 5 stars in my book

2 nights at Musick Creek Falls

We just got back from a stay at Musick Creek Falls, and it was absolutely stunning. The beauty of the site is jaw-dropping — the kind of place that feels like a hidden gem tucked away in the mountains. I camped with my 3-year-old, 1-year-old, and two dogs, and it was the perfect blend of adventure and tranquility for our little family. The kids loved playing in the creek, even though the water was a bit chilly. There are a few deeper spots where it’s easy for little ones to slip in, so supervision was important, but once we set some simple boundaries, they had the time of their lives splashing and exploring. The campsite feels wonderfully private. I did see a previous review mention the site above being visible, and while you can be aware of it, the lush foliage creates a secluded, peaceful vibe that still feels totally your own. Backing the car down to the site was fairly easy — just a heads up that the terrain is a bit rough, so low-clearance vehicles might have a harder time, but it’s definitely doable. We really appreciated the thoughtful touches like firewood and a sugar pine cone for the fire. Shandi was amazing — responsive, helpful, and full of great tips for exploring Shaver Lake. This place is magical. We’re already dreaming about when we can come back.

I would recommend this place with some caveats. - Bring your own shampoo etc and towels. This is not an Airbnb. Treat it like a camping trip with nicer amenities, and you won’t be disappointed. The shower structures were lovely and smelled like cedar, but yes there are spiders. - Expect dust. The common kitchen is an open structure and we visited during dry season - things are dusty. But it is equipped most things you’d need - pots, pans, knives and such - and fresh well water. - The number of occupants in the listing are absolute MAX if you put sleeping beds on the floor. It’s not the number of people that can sleep on beds. Each unit has one bed, and two people sleep comfortably. This isn’t what we expected, but they were able to set up cots so our kids can sleep. - The Lookout is an open structure and it does get quite cold at night. They have blankets but bring extra. We had a great time here - the animals are so sweet and we got to see their milking process in the morning. The bathrooms are clean and the back opens to the field - it was a unique experience I never knew I needed lol! Again, if you pack like you would for a camping trip, you’re set and will have a wonderful visit.

Weekend Trip to Hidden Falls Yosemite Camp

Wonderful weekend "glamping" spot near lots of hiking & food! Perfect for two. Cozy cabin! The sound & view of the hidden falls was so peaceful. Bed was on the firmer side and bathroom situation was a bit odd but we worked through it. Would have loved to have a fire but CA is dry in June, so thinking another trip in fall/winter may be in order!

Wondernut Farm

Wondernut Farm is an upstart, entirely off grid, working farm-stead being built from the ground up. We breed milking goats and sheep, heritage pigs, and are in the process of converting to a grade A dairy and creamery! We use organic practices, management intensive rotational grazing, and dryland pasture management. We sell our animals locally so that others can have their own milking and meat animals. Our 110 year old hay barn and the roof of the former lumber mill were all we had to work with in getting off the ground. Being first and foremost a functional farm, we can't help but offer a somewhat warts-and-all look into everything it takes to be working to our goals. Our hearts are, and always will be, educational and local community focused, and we work closely with farmers and friends alike in better understanding our innovative animal husbandry, power, pasture and water systems. Whenever we have time, we'll afford the same time and opportunities to interested hip-campers. Our location is stunning and historic, and the beauty of the wild, natural landscape is powerful, yet offers easy access to both Yosemite Valley and the San Francisco Bay area. The area features excellent road and mountain biking in the immediate vicinity, vast access to hiking and backpacking trails, a huge variety of rock climbing in the area, the best whitewater rafting in California on the Tuolumne River, with some tasty places to eat or drink coffee in the nearby town of Groveland, just 10 minutes away. Accommodations at the farm are certainly rustic, and private but not secluded, with occasionally heavily project-exploded shared kitchen and living space, showers, and airy flush toilets. Do be advised that animals are pooping, hammers are hammering, sometimes we need to look into a health or animal injury related issue. Sometimes there is blood in an animal birth or slaughter, and our working guardian dogs have been known to be noisy some nights. Water and electricity are both very limited (though we reuse all our water), waste must be carefully sorted into a number of different categories, and there is always evidence of ump-teen projects unfolding at once. The most difficult condition during much of the summer are nuisance flies, which are always gone at night. We have almost no mosquitoes or ticks. Depending on the exact situation and time of year, guests may have the opportunities to snuggle with baby animals and run our herd to or from pasture, and maybe even get their hands dirty picking veggies in the garden.

We are a family of 5 (me, my husband, our two toddlers and our dog, River) living on 5 acres of mountain land in the foothills of the Sierras complete with an outdoor shower and bath and also flowing (seasonal) stream that you can swim in. Feel free to wander around the property on a few of our trails or just chill by the water and enjoy the magic of the mountains. Our property is about a 45 min drive to the Yosemite entrance. Dogs are more than welcome as long as they are ok with our dog wandering around. He’s super sweet loves everybody.

But just as you would be camping in a tent or isolated cabin there is no source of heat, we suggest you come prepared with warm pajamas, even a beanie for your head. In the Glamping Central area and bathroom facilities there is always hot water and coffee with toaster oven and cooking area.

Aside from complimentary ice water, potty, shower, soaps, sanitizer, sunscreen, first aid, communal fire pit, wood stove and dishwashing area) this is not "glamping". If you are a person who appreciates nature and making due with what the land has provided, then we are a great fit. Guests have 20 acres to find a secluded, or socially distanced spot to pitch camp. This is for people that know how to camp in the backcountry - Without a trash can, who don’t leave cigarette butts, respect the land and would rather not be sectioned off. Flat areas are all over if you explore, and use your feet to brush aside rocks and twigs, to lay down a tent base, as we do every time we camp in the backcountry. The geography of these mountains is just that, hills and mountains. The vista at the top of the property is gorgeous and easily camps 5 tents spaced out. The property does offer many other great camping areas, and I’m more than happy to point them out. Yosemite is 30 minutes away, Don Pedro lake is 30 minutes, Cherry Lake is 30 minutes, Preston falls and Carlon falls are both 30 min away. Downtown Groveland Is 7 minutes away, and other historic towns are not too far. Close to many swimming holes. Rainbow pools is 15 minutes away. 10 min from the local grocery store and other local shops. Base Camp is just off of highway 120. The is a WiFi network available but coverage is weak. Deer and turkey sightings occur frequently, and hiking trails are located on this 10-acre wooded property. Two seasonal creeks also located on the property which are typically flowing until early June. There is also an Airbnb cabin located on this wooded property about 100 yards uphill from the camp. The site is centrally located about between Oakhurst and Bass Lake about 10 to 15 minutes away from either location. The south entrance of Yosemite National Park is about 25 minutes away.
