Bring a lock (Gate and Chain provided) and claim your retreat.
Take your jeep or ATVs through our gates straight into the BrightStar BLM Wilderness which abuts the property on two sides and extends into the Jawbone wilderness. Beginners can ride the extensive trails on the property itself. Play your music, dance naked, let your dogs run free... Enjoy the fantastic star gazing. Great site and area, would definitely recommend. Nobody else is nearby so you have the privacy of the whole lot. All amenities onsite are well taken care of. Everything we needed was there and the bathroom was freshly cleaned for us. The shooting range onsite was great and having the BLM Land right against the property line was awesome. Highly recommend.

John was very patient as I was a Hipcamp newbie. I was also coming in last minute on a cold and chilly January night. He gave excellent directions and in the morning I was treated to a beautiful crisp Sierra morning. Location was private and beautiful, but the sound of all winter creek rushing close by. I had the place to myself, but there was plenty of room between locations. I would gladly go back and hope to a in warmer weather. :)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mark‘s Hipcamp. It was perfect for four teenage boys and a dog to run around and let loose. We used it as a basecamp to explore Sequoia National Park and Lake Isabella. There is a pontoon, a large concrete slab with picnic tables, and a clean porta-potty. We happened to get excellent weather during late December and the property was green and beautiful. There is hiking to mountains directly behind the property as well as ORV trails. Plus, there are beautiful views of the lake and mountains. We also ordered the $60 bundle of wood that had large high-quality logs. Mark was quick to respond to questions and offered us advice for places to go. Overall, this property exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend this Hipcamp! (as a sidenote, do not follow the directions from Apple or Google to turn off Larson. You can take Larson from the highway all the way back to the property.)

Loved camping at this site with my friends. There was a ton of space and we were so close to everything we wanted to do. The property backs up to BLM land so if you step out the back gate you’re able to hike beautiful peaks. There’s a pontoon feature that provides great shade, a perfect place to hang a hammock, and stunning views. There’s property is just five minutes from the lake and nature preserve where we fished all week. Mark was a great host and answered all questions leading up to the trip. This was a trip for my best friends bachelor party and was the perfect spot for our group. Couldn’t have been happier. Will definitely be back with my wife soon. Thanks Mark!

My group loved tent camping here at wandering star ranch! The property is huge and BLM land is incredibly close! This spot is absolutely amazing if you like off roading and shooting! We brought our dirt bike and had a BLAST!! There is a little shooting range up the hill too! The lake is close enough to go fishing too and if you run out of any supplies there is a market and gas station close by as well! The restroom was clean but there were a few black widows in there so make sure you bring something along to remove them! Mark was a great host! He was quick with responses and very helpful! We added firewood and the soak tub to our trip and mark set it all up very quickly! We will most definitely be back to camp here again!!

Corey’s farm is the ultimate farm camping experience. It has everything you’d need. We had a blast. Their instructions were really easy to follow. Road to get there is beautiful and their land is clean. The campsite had all the amenities I’d like to have. (Electricity, water and sewage hookups). They were available if we needed anything. Also they have large dogs that are the friendliest farm dogs that you’d ever encounter. I highly recommend everyone to stay here and experience this gem of a campground.

We had an amazing time camping at Bear all Retreat.
Corey’s place is 130 plus acres of pure-outdoor bliss.
Creek with clear streaming water, amazing views, starry nights and campfires right outside our door. Free range cows, horses, goats, pigs, and chickens, greeted us daily and provided us with entertainment. The family dogs came to visit often hanging out with us keeping us safe and our dog enjoyed making new friends. We hiked and walked on trails collecting pinecones, pine nuts, watercress and fell asleep to the chorus of the frogs in the creek.
Corey’s wife Alicia and kids were so kind and gracious sharing with us fresh farm eggs, goats milk, points of interest around the area and pleasant conversation. Camping the way it is ment to be, cant speak highly enough of this hidden gem. We will surely be returning to Bear all Retreat to clear our mind and soul while camping and hiking in the great our doors.

We rented out the whole site for a group camping trip and it was so magical! The creek was flowing and was so nice and refreshing to lounge in. We also really loved the communal campfire and kitchen/dining area. Everything was set up so nicely so we didn’t have to bring much outside of what we needed for food and tent set up. John was very helpful and easy to work with and has such a beautiful setup at Spirit Walk! We definitely want to come back!

I loved camping at wandering star ranch! Beautiful campground, plenty of space to explore. The views of lake Isabella were amazing! The concrete pad and pontoon boat made excellent locations to cook dinner and relax.
Booking, checking in, checking out were all straight forward and easy.

If you live in the LA area or anywhere around the area of Kern this place is special. The spaces they have for RVs, campers, camper vans or rooftop tents this is an amazing place. You are completely out of the way so personally I felt safe here. The owners are really nice and super helpful. Weather your fishing, hiking, or just exploring the owner has 15 archers you can explore right off the back. If you hike the whole thing it’s amazing. Over all would highly recommend.
