Our 42 acres is located at the beginning of the award winning Adelaide Wine trail in Paso Robles. Our ranch was once home to a horse boarding and breeding ranch which bred Paso Fino horses, known for their beautiful gait. Having been a horse ranch, it left us with some nice trails that you can enjoy during your stay. We have some nice uphill walks to view your local surroundings while sitting to enjoy a glass of wine or you morning cup of coffee/tea. We are on a well out here so at times you may get a sulphur/mineral smell to the water. Please bring your own drinking/cooking water. It is safe to shower, my hair feels so much thicker! On the ranch you will see that we have 2 donkeys, Desi (black) and Lucy (light grey). Along with our donkeys we have to friendly goats, Fiona (brown) and Sadie (white), they love carrots. but please stick to one carrot a day each, we don't want to over feed them. We also have chickens which means have farm fresh eggs. $5 for 1/2 dozen. Up on the hill you will see Connie a cow and her buddy Samuel, the bull. they love carrots but please do not go into their pasture. She'll think you're bringing food and gets very dangerously excited. Please feel free to walk the property and become one with nature while observing the local indigenous floral and fauna.

Thanks to the micro climate we have here, we grow some of the best fruit in the country. The coastal canyon is just a short distance to the beach and 15 minutes into town but feels like a world away when you are here. The star gazing is incredible as the canyon walls block the light pollution and the milky way shines! Welcome to our little slice of 10 acre heaven in the Canyon! Just bring yourself and we have everything else!! Nestle up in the Cozy Gnome Home, a 1967 vintage trailer and listen to the symphony of frogs in the creek just outside your window. With love and labor... we gutted, redesigned and restored this little trailer for the ultimate functioning space for two. Nice little kitchen with copper counters and everything you need for cooking and dining. A Berkey filter for clean water, hardwood floors and a comfy bed complete with organic mattress, down comforter and cotton sheets. Fold out dining table if you care to (or need to) eat indoors. There is also an outdoor kitchen space with a sink (no hot water), gas grill, propane burner (bring your own small canister) and a patio table and chairs. We have a charcoal grill available too. The creek runs mostly year round so feel free to get your feet wet on a hot sunny day. We also have an outdoor warm shower and sink as well as a hot water kitchen sink that you can share with other campers. You are welcome to cruise the property and check out the chickens, ducks and horses. We have three dogs on the ranch, a deaf and incredibly sweet pitbull ( he is a food thief so store food and garbage as though raccoons were a problem), a curious and playful ranch dog Pluto (who will be your tour guide) and a Boston Bulldogge, Astrid. We are surrounded by orchards which have some of the best apples and pears in the country. Seasonally you can stop by many apple markets and do a tasting. We also have a lively wine tasting venue less than a mile away. Avila Beach is a short 4 miles away and we are happy to share bikes if we have them available but can't guarantee any. Our location is a bikers' dream as the 13 mile scenic road takes you all the way into SLO. NOTE: If you want to bring others to camp, please note that they need to bring their own tents and supplies, we only have room for two but welcome self sufficient campers to join you :) also, we have a camp stove you can use to cook on but bring your own little green propane canister.

Both sites include a trunk of goodies: Complimentary trunk of goodies that is filled with muffins, mugs, creamer, sugar, coffee, croissants, cards, champagne & wine glasses & wine opener! (The weather prevented us from experiencing that and so much more but it’s easy to build a great trip when staying at Megan’s place.) We are located on 44 acres high atop the Santa Cruz Mountains but close to all the major beaches and Silicon Valley. Please be aware this is camping in nature, along with squirrels, spiders, falling leaves, etc. and nature is not always for everyone. There is a 45ft. ladder to climb to get into the treehouse. The view at sunset is spectacular. Featured on the first page of top Glamping destinations in California, in National Geographic's 50 States, 500 campgrounds. Both sites include a trunk of goodies: Complimentary trunk of goodies that is filled with muffins, mugs, creamer, sugar, coffee, croissants, cards, champagne & wine glasses & wine opener! We acquired the property in 1991, shortly after the Lexington Fire (1985) and Loma Prieta earthquake (1989). At that time, the entire property has degenerated into disrepair, and all the vineyards had been overwhelmed by the wilderness. In 2011, we started the herculean effort of clearing away the wilderness, resurrecting all the vineyards and renovating our home. 1 night at Dare 2 Dream Farms

Cute little farm. Jeremy was very welcoming and his two boys were adorable as well. I arrived a bit early, but Jeremy was more than accommodating. The location is close enough to town, but far enough away for peace and quiet when the sun sets. The mattress was a little soft for my liking, but it was still comfortable. Their on-site farm stand was awesome. I’ll be back again, next time I’ll probably opt for the airstream on the farm.

Highly recommend this retreat, especially with a short commute from South Bay. The host, Naomi, is very kind and welcoming and left a parting gift of pineapple guavas for my trip back home.

Such a cute and cozy loft! It was bigger than we expected and it was great that they had all the amenities! The outdoor is super cute and it was great that they had BBQ. The host also made sure we had enough pellets to keep warm throughout the night. Loved how it was dog friendly, though I didnt think it would be best off leash.... We were able to walk to nearby winery, chill, enjoy nature and eat good food. High recommend this stay!

I'm so lucky I found Gaia farms - the location is stunningly beautiful, the accommodations were cozy, Amanda was generous, friendly, kind, and I got to hold a baby goat! It was truly a special experience. I cannot recommend a visit enough and hope for the chance to return. We stayed in the yurt, enjoying privacy, quiet, comfort, and VIEWS! The pictures can't even capture how gorgeous the views were. We watched the sun set pink over the mountains and ocean, saw shooting stars all night, and then the clouds settled below us at dawn. My friend and I loved our time in this beautiful beautiful space. It's serene and quiet and so lovely. Its really conveniently located — feels peaceful and removed but close to many of the places we wanted to visit (downtown Santa Cruz, point lobos, and Carmel). The outside kitchen was super cute to enjoy breakfast and dinner. And they have the cutest Alpacas!!!!!! That truly made our stay. The room was comfortable as well! The host was lovely and accommodating! We felt pretty taken care off! It was an overall great time!

The yurt was in a stunning location and hosted by such a welcoming family. Amazing views and awesome rock formations, just up the mountain from a great beach. Beds were super comfy cozy, outdoor seating area great for taking it all in. Plus, baby goats!!! This was our very first Hipcamp experience and it was overall awesome. And the farm-made goat milk soap smells amazing.

Had a great stay at Dare 2 Dream’s ‘73 Airstream! It was incredibly clean and cozy. It was well stocked with pots/pans, kitchen utensils, towels, etc.. I also stopped by the farmstand and grabbed some fantastic eggs. The hosts were responsive to questions and accommodating! Truly a gorgeous night looking up at the moon from the bed. The Haven is a peaceful, cozy gem (and a convenient for getting to the Soquel MTB trails). Naomi warmly welcomed me and my partner when we arrived and then we had plenty of privacy. The outdoor kitchen is absolutely delightful, the bedroom is comfortable and the bathroom is clean. Watching the sunset over the trees in the valley while winding down with a cup of tea was heavenly. Would absolutely return!

Naomi was a very kind and welcoming host. My wife and I enjoyed the location of the property - less than 15min from downtown Santa Cruz, but it felt very private and peaceful. The outdoor kitchen was very well built out, and we were able to use it for multiple meals. Worth noting that the HipCamp butts right up against the hosts’ house - though the windows were covered for privacy.

My partner and I loved the redwood gazebo at Gene’s camp site. The view from the site is gorgeous. Gene is responsive and friendly. I would love to go back when possible - also highly recommend it to anyone looking for a calm and therapeutic experience.

Weekend Trip to Freedog Farms @ Cactus Flower Ranch

We were only able to stay 1 night but it was truly an amazing experience. Sierra and Darin have built an amazing space on such a beautiful property of land. From the first second we met them, they were very welcoming. They made us feel like we were home. Their hard work in the whole space shows. We brought our Australian Shepherd with us, who didn’t want to leave. We are 11/10 coming back, hopefully for more than just one night. I recommend for anybody that wants/needs to be surrounded by nature and good people.
