Ric’s property was beautiful, quiet and clean. The camping area, the bathroom and the hand-built outdoor shower were so nice. We were only able to stay for a little while, but it was just the spot that we needed. Close to lots of beautiful mountain and desert areas to explore, and some quaint cafes. Grateful for Ric’s hospitality. We will definitely stay again.

Robin is an exceptional host! Right from the start he promptly communicated with me, accommodating my requests and made sure we had everything we needed. Anita’s land was an amazing family getaway! So close but no one around. We hung out and enjoyed the sun & pool area. Hiked around the landscape for sunset. Barbecued dinner outside and watched the stars come out! Lastly a movie night in the dome. Can’t wait to come back to this little escape.

I enjoyed my stay at ArtFarm and would definitely come back for another glamping trip! The cabin was very cozy but clean. Very quiet and relaxing. Steps away from the kitchen and bathrooms which made it very convenient. The cabin was a bit warm and stuffy during the daytime, so I had to leave the door open to get airflow during the day - keep that in mind if you are staying during the hot summer months. The WiFi was also bit hit or miss at times. My one suggestion for the host is to have some signage up to point where some of the key landmarks are - there’s a lot of land, and that would have been helpful for orientation.

Had a wonderful stay, besides the wind it's was amazing! Definitely going back soon! The host was helpful and responsive. It was my first time camping in the desert and my boyfriend's first time camping ever and we both had a wonderful experience here.

It’s a very nice spot. We loved all the old west decorative touches. We brought an RV and also rented the “Fearless Mary” airstream. Enjoyed the sunset and early morning views up there. Also dined below by the saloon under the big oak. It’s 25 minutes to the beach, 10 minutes to shops and restaurants. The hosts were great. Emphatic thumbs up

We book this last minute as our previous site was to windy to stay. Host was accommodating. Cool spot and we were able to see some ostriches.

1 night at New Yurt City

This hipcamp experience was what I call ‘travel magic’. I arrived in the dark and was soon greeted by the sweetest dog ever. The location was exactly what I wanted; complete peace in the middle of the desert. The host greeted me like we were lifelong friends and took me for a tour of his property. In the morning a different but equally sweet dog came to check in on me after I woke up. My only regret is that I could not stay longer to go offroading but will be back again. By all means come out and support these great people.

Kyle’s land was unique, to us it was a special gem! Absolutely beautiful sites with lots of furry friends 🥰 we could have campfires which was a huge perk for us so we didn’t have to go out all the time! If you love to stargaze or even love AtVs rides this is the perfect spot . They have a really good deal for renting/tours! They even have outside bathrooms (outhouse style), and showers! Thank you for everything! We can’t wait to come back😊

We booked two sites. Came with my daughter, son-in-law and 2 of my granddaughters. We had fun. Caught frogs. Did archery and axe throwing. Jessica and Lou were both friendly and responsive. We got honey and some ostrich oil. The stars are amazing at night.

Local markets also sell neck gaiters for face protection. I also have pieces of plywood with bricks that you're welcome to move and shift to fit your needs. I am in the process of building a tree/shrub wind block. There's about .4 miles of dirt road to get to the property, there are some dips to watch out for but I come out here in a little Prius so it's manageable. Overall, there is an element of seclusion but occasionally people do drive by on the dirt road. I would rate the cell phone service a 7/10, it's pretty solid but can go out at times.

It does get breezy at night, so dress appropriately.It feels like the wild west out here, and that's the main appeal--no rules, nobody watching. Think long dirt roads, tumbleweeds, bones, and maybe some old bullet shells (there's no shooting allowed on the property anymore). This is not a state-maintained, paved, manicured operation--it's the edge of the desert wilderness. Please respect the property and clean up after yourself!This is for people who are comfortable exploring beyond a concrete slab with electricity and janitor-cleaned restrooms. There are no designated sites, so pick whatever looks good to you. We often have multiple parties at once, so feel free to spread out.This land used to be the domain of the Ketanemuk tribe, which I think means People From The East. In the summer they would go up and hunt and get pine nuts in the Tehachapi Mountains, and acorns from the oak trees in the San Gabriels.The property itself is along a dirt road called Avenue C. It's about a 20 minute drive from the town of Neenach (pronounced Nee-nack), where there's a general store and a cafe. They make a great breakfast burrito. It's also a few minutes from the State Poppy Reserve, which blooms in the spring with miles of California poppies.If you have a larger group or event in mind, get in touch!
